The campground, as all PA State Parks, was well maintained. Here are the caveats however. The "pet loop" was clearly geared towards RVs etc. All of the sites are full electric and more than a few have very little space for a family size tent to be safely away from the fire ring. Ours had…

A wonderful park to hike at and enjoy, but I called and confirmed they do not offer camping.
The new owners are definitely working hard to improve but lots more to do. We have visited here a few times in the past four or five years and we see the improvements. The location is good for us since we live about 35 minutes away. The sites are level and there are often three point sites…
Nice, smaller family campground with a pool. Courteous staff, clean sites
Lake with swing and fishing and two pools. No pets no alcohol no store but they have a snack stand. Make sure to get an end campsite or your table will be by the sanitary dump. Large sights kids had fun.
Best part of this campground is trailheads begin directly from campsites. Trails vary in length but all are flat and easily accessible.
The road into the campground is about 1 mile of loose sand. It can be accessed by a standard vehicle.
Site are suitable for tents or small campers. The…

Atsion cabins are excellent rustic cabins situated directly on the water. They come in a variety of sizes accommodating up to 7 or 8 people.
They must be reserved in advance and a multiple night rental is necessary. They book quickly during the busy season. However, we rented for Halloween…

Wharton State Forest Batona Campground has some of the best trails I’ve hiked.
Downside is the campsite is tight. You must camp in designated spots and reserve online. Not much distance between sites.
However, with the amount of outdoor activities there really is no reason to stay idle in the…

My husband and I have stayed at Elk Neck twice. It’s a great campground with lots of different loops to choose sites from. The bath houses are very clean, and the folks responsible for their upkeep are great. There are sinks for washing dishes outside the bathhouses, making cooking cleanup very…
ive been coming to this camp ground since i was a little kid, and now a grown adult nothing has changed! this campground needs some updates to the bath house and even to the store but overall it isnt terrible and i will be back again next year
Quiet and clean always been this way since 1980 for us. Larger sites and quiet areas near the beach,
We have mixed feelings about this campground. The reviews are mostly about the tubing/kayaking. We used our SUPs in the water and we’re fine but we didn’t go far.
Your rig will be covered in sand and it’s quite buggy. However, it has a state park feel with the trees. There are several seasonal…
I stayed here for two nights with a friend, and it was serene and beautiful. There were nice, easy hikes in or near the campsite, and the location about halfway between Philadelphia and Washington, DC, was perfect.
Flat site, no tent bed, enough space to park two cars. Campsite decent size, but some don't have clear boundaries to neighbors, and sometimes not optimally configured (e.g., the site next door's fire pit was placed on the edge of its site/right next to my site). Could hear the traffic on Rte 72 at…
Very nice and clean campground. Store, pool and cafe. Firewood and minature golf available. Some tight spots to navigate through. Nice fishing in the lake.
