    Good for groups

This camp ground has RV hook ups, showers, bathrooms and covered areas. It’s not beautiful on the park, the river is nice though. It’s great for groups since the spaces are so close together.

    Portland Fairview RV Park

Nice, Clean RV Park with Newer Models, Greenery and a Pool

I'll be honest. I wasn't expecting much from this RV Park. It's not in the most exciting area of Portland (the closet thing is a Walmart down the road). But it's actually quite lovely. Nice and clean. Plenty of green space, trees. Most spots were pull-though with decently wide streets to drive in. Even though it's just off a semi-major street, it's set back enough and surrounded by trees to be more quiet.

The park is set up in two areas, with the one closer to the entrance a bit higher up than the spots toward the back. Pool, clubhouse, etc. are toward the front. The front office was clean and the manager nice.

While there's definitely some long-term and month-to-month spots, most RVs aren't spilling over with "extras" (extensive decorations/sheds etc.) like some places.

To me, the price is a bit much: $57.67 for full hook-ups, and that's after a AAA discount. Otherwise, a decent place to stay with your RV on the edge of Portland.

Silver Spur RV Park & Resort

    Not terrible.

I ended up here last minute due to weather on the Oregon coast. I’m in a 40’ coach. It’s a very well kept RV park, a lot of long term residents were here. The office is very nice, the lawns are very nice, the office parking lot is asphalt. Has a nice little children’s play area. There are very bumpy gravel driveways to the RV parking spots (possibly just the time of year causing the poor road condition). The RV spaces are very easy to get into being angled. We stayed in a pull through space, easy in and easy out. Only giving a 4star rating for the very small RV spaces. Was very crammed for anything more than a last minute stay.

    Premier RV Resort

    Good Base Camp

Our stay at the Lincoln City Premier RV Resort was good.  The space was clean and the utility hookups were well maintained and functional.  And, staff were very nice and accommodating.  We upgraded to a pull through and in hindsight should not have.  It was close to the road, and many of the trailers in the pull through section appeared to be long term occupants, at least a couple left early in the morning for work and returned in the afternoon.  The location although easy to get both north and south from because it is adjacent to the highway, was in a part of town that seemed a little economically depressed.  I would have rated it higher but for the price, I expected more.  UPDATE  We visited this park for a second time in 2023 and selected a back in site near the north east section of the park and loved it.  We are changing our rating to five stars.

    Thousand Trails Pacific City

    Nice Place, but ...

We spent A few days over the New Year 2021 holiday. We new the weather would be raining with New Years Eve mainly dry. Hit that just right. The Beach was a lot of fun, the dogs loved it and The town of Pacific City is nice. As for the camping sites, the best part is they are mostly all private and we loved that. The sound of the ocean was nice. Some sites have an ocean view. Full hook ups were not very well marked and frankly hard to find. There is only one bar 1x or 3g cell service. No WiFi unless you drive to the pool area. The spots are dirt, not completely level and the sewer hookup flooded.

We received the Thousand Trails membership free with our trailer purchase so it was worth the free price. Not certain I’d pay for it.

    Camper Cove RV park

    Sweet spot outside Tillamook

We got a spot for our rv on “the cove” side and it was much more campground than rv park, cute and nestled into the woods around a small river and a couple trails. Super friendly staff and a few long-term residents. Maybe not the most updated amenities and 5g instead of wifi, but very cute and fairly spacious sites.

    Crown Point RV Park

Nice RV park compared to others in the area

There are several RV parks in this general area, just off the Columbia River parkway. The other two we visited were the kind where the sheriff/police cars slowly drive through to make sure things aren't getting too crazy. This is not that kind of place.

Smaller (25 spots?) and about half the spots are long-term residents. Lots of grass and trees. Laundromat and showers. Nothing too fancy but also nothing too sketchy.

Good location as far as a jumping off point for the Columbia River Gorge while being not too far from Portland proper.

    Thousand Trails Pacific City

Thousand Trails Pacific City is Great Place To Stay

Thousand Trails Pacific City This was a very nice Thousand Trails. We stay three nights from September 27th through September 30th, 2019, in campsite D15, the stay was free due to our Thousand Trails membership. Our site had electricity and water hook up. The site was level and backed up to McPhillips Drive, we could hear vehicles passing during the day, however, the night was not an issue. The site was quiet and very private. The tall trees and bushes separated us from our camping neighbors.

The campground is at an elevation of 75 ft. and our 28 ft travel trailer easily fits with room to spare in our site. Once we entering the campground, the campground roads are all asphalt as we selected our campsite. The weather was high overcast in the low 60's, the nights low 40s. It did rain hard on Friday and Saturday night, also rained Sunday afternoon. This is a very quiet campground, activities we found at the campground to keep busy were Billiards, a very nice indoor pool, and a warm outdoor spa. The campground has clean free showers, plenty of hot water and not more than a 5 minute walk from our campsite.

Since we arrived on a Friday school day, the campground as not full, there was no waiting for showers. My wife and I enjoyed the campground, we hiked at Cape Lookout and Cape Kiwanda. Had a great time, we will be back to stay at this Thousand Trails.

    Expensive cement parking lot

Expensive RV Park in suburban Vancouver. Basically, it’s a big cement parking lot with drive-through slips for RVs. Full hookups available, but nothing very scenic about anything in the area.

This is one of those places you could crash for the night and then keep on moving, were it not for the fact that it’s near $80 an evening. You could do better at a nearby motel.

    Portland Fairview RV Park

Good place for a short stay

We were worried at first as this was our first visit to Portland. The city is filled with garbage and in desperate need of services for the homeless. We pulled into the RV park and luckily there is nothing worrisome to report. If the office is closed there is a cabinet around the corner that may contain the map with your name and directions to your spot. It is tidy and the staff were friendly during our 2-week stay. The area around it seemed like well kept neighborhoods. The train next to the park is regular so be prepared for consistent train noise. Our Verizon phones and T-Mobile hotspot had great signal here and the park offered free cable service. The spaces are pre-assigned but very tight. We unfortunately didn't get a pull-through site even though quite a few were available. It seemed the majority of people here are long-term but as I mentioned above everyone was tidy. Everyone seemed quite friendly as well. As for the facilities, they seemed to be in a bit of disrepair but not horrible. The "gym" wasn't a place that really looked useable though. Several long term people made comments on how cheap the owners are and have indicated the park is slowly but consistently going downhill. I didn't take any photos as there were no great things to accentuate. We did enjoy the fact it was close to the highway that takes you east towards quite a few sights and Hood River.

Hares Canyon Horse Camp — L.L. Stub Stewart State Park

    Great place close to Portland

I have been here several times and always have a good experience. During the main season when the whole place is open you can usually find a spot last min. This year with covid it's been harder to find a spot last min and they would only let you reserve 30 days in advance so planning something in advance was impossible. I bring my R-Pod trailer and every RV spot has full hook-ups. Lots to do with the Banks / Vernonia trail running through the camp that has over 15 miles of paved walking / biking trails. Weekends get busy on the trail during the summer, but still plenty of distance to use the trail safely during Covid. Camp host have always been nice.

    Beautiful September

It sure has been beautiful out. Dog friendly Rv and tent camping. Kids play area. Super nice group camping spots. Loop B is where it’s at. Nice spaced out camp spots in Loop B. Unfortunately we stayed in Loop A due to needing a 30amp plug for our RV. Loop A camp spots are a little close together, though people were respectful. Nice places to hike and play disc golf if your into that. We camped in a 21ft RV spot had full hook ups, easy to back into spot. We would definitely camp here again.

Gorgeous RV park with a great view!

In the cute little fishing town of Garibaldi, on the Oregon Coast, we found this gem of an RV park. Waterfront, full hookup sites with a great view led us to build a fire in fire pit provided and sit outside in December! This town will be rocking when it's crabbing or fishing season. Short walk to marina, store, restaurants.

Had a nice one night stop at this RV Park that had about 12 sites that were lined up along the coast. Full hookup with showers, Laundry etc.

    It's just ok

I've spent a few shoulder season nights at Barview, usually in the early-mid spring. At that time of year, you have a good chance of not having immediate neighbors. I stayed one night in the RV section, and don't think I'd enjoy it on a packed summer weekend. The RV hookup sites are really close, with no trees or other screen between trailers. The good news is that everyone has been super friendly whenever I'm there.

The tent sites are much more private with trees, though there are still a lot of sites. I think we paid about 50 bucks to camp in our van with our dog, though. At that price, the value just isn't there for me.

    Good location.

Anywhere near the beach in Lincoln City is a good choice. This RV Park is associated with the Chinook Winds Casino and provides all the necessary hook ups needed. It’s basically a parking lot with hook ups and amenities but location is great. You can also stay over in the casino parking lot designated for RVs without hook ups. If staying at casino lot, you need to register for a players card, play and redeem points for RV stay. We ended up staying 4 nights without cost as we won some money trying to earn our points (not big gamblers here!) Easy walk to the beach.

    Glamping

This was my first experience at an RV Resort. It is located right of the interstate but feels secluded. They have both back in and pull through sites, a little tight with neighbors but I was told it is better than other RV resorts. Beautiful landscaping, indoor pool and hot tub, small market, laundry facilities, horseshoe pits on beautiful grassy area. Yes to dogs and cats and no breed restrictions! They have a nice grassy area with poop bags! Bummer no fires 🙁 If fire pits I’d give the 5th star! Also, within 15-20 mins there are amazing countryside, wine tasting, hiking/walking, Willamette River with off leash areas for dogs, and downtown Portland. Additionally there is an off leash park 8 mins away. Overall a good experience, we enjoyed our stay. My photos don’t show much of the place but their website’s photos represent well.

    Wapiti RV Park

RV campground with several elk herds

We were shut out of Oregon Coast state park campgrounds so we found Wapiti RV Park using our Benchmark map. Some RV parks do not accept truck campers but Wapiti does. They have full hookups which we don’t use so we were assigned a site that had water and power. The bathrooms were not in use but we are self-contained so this was no issue.

One of their elk herds came out that late afternoon to browse. Someone counted 53 animals.

There is a garbage dumpster and the water was potable. They have a large meeting room and lots of fields to wander.

We paid $25 for our site.

    Cute cabin!

We headed to the Pacific City in search of fresh air in mid September when much of Oregon was consumed by wildfire smoke. The friendly staff at Cape Kiwanda RV Resort were very welcoming and we opted to stay in one of their cute cabins as rain was forecasted. Cabin N was comfortable and had electric heat, a TV, dorm fridge, microwave, porch swing, outdoor water, BBQ grill, picnic table and outdoor firepit.  The campground had cute wild bunnies hoping around, and amenities such as a playground, full market, and pool.  It's located a quick walk from a beautiful sandy beach, brew pub, coffee shop and other convenient options are nearby.
