Beautiful Location and Great Campsites HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I was amazed by how beautiful the site was that I had to stay an extra night. The staff at the reservation office was super kind and accommodating to my request, helped me find a site that was available for the full length of my stay, and gave me some options to look at before deciding on a site. I chose a site in the V section and was left speechless; it was stunning! I'm not much of a camper, but this had to have been one of the most beautiful sites I've stayed at in my life. 50m walk to the beach, lots of trees for privacy, and a big lot for the campsite. Showers were $0.25/min, and were a min of $0.50 to start, they were relatively clean and private.

I also surfed at Barview Jetty Beach, where there were some great waves for beginners! Although I'm not sure if you're allowed to surf there since I was the only I saw surfing, but I didn't see any signs saying you couldn't.

Nice County Campground on Beach

My cousins and I stayed for several days. One cousin stayed at a tent site next to the beach. We used a full pull through site. 15, 30 and 50 amp. Water. Dump. Onsite showers needed quarters. Many on site hosts, constantly making the rounds. Has a pretty nice playground that is fenced in.

Better for Heavy Sleepers

This place is known as a "party" campground. There are often large groups who are loud late into the night. Other than that the sites are generally specious and it's a beautiful area. The walk to the beach/jetty is not far and paved so it can easily be traversed at night which I really like.

All in all not a horrible campground just be aware that it might not be so quiet.

There’s a site for everyone

This campground is massive. The site types and amenities across the campground vary widely. We stayed in site 65 in RV Sites May 2022.

Verizon via iPhone 12: 9 mbps down and 0.18 mbps up with 46 ms ping. T-Mobile via Nighthawk MR-1100: 40 mbps down and 4 mbps up with 59 ms ping.

——REASONS I STAYED HERE——

Needed a campground near Tillamook Creamery and Cape Meares Lighthouse. Also needed cell signal for working.

—————BASIC FAQ—————

Dump station? - Yes

Water fill or hookup? - Hookup, yes. Not sure about water fill station.

Electricity? - Yes

Clean site? - Yes

Clean bathroom? - Yes

Flush toilet? - Yes

Showers? - Yes, but in May 2022 they were closed due to staffing shortages. I showered in my van since we had full hookup.

Laundry? - No

—————PROS—————

→ This campground is HUGE. There’s a campsite style and location for every type of camper here.

→ You can walk to the beach.

→ The sites are super clean.

—————CONS—————

→ The RV sites don't have much privacy or shade. (It's hard to argue with that full hookup though.)

Didn’t take our own previous advise!

Well, the last time we stayed here we were in spot #45 and it was camper to camper spaces. We said the next time we were going to get a pull through site or a tent site with no hookups, but we couldnt find a pull through site available. So we were packed in like sardines until the weekend was over and we were by our shelfs mostly. Nothing had changed here, bath rooms ok and maintained. Showers were very very hot and little time for the money you have to spend. Beach was nice and easy access to it as always. Two thirds of the tent areas were closed already but two of the camp hosts in the tent areas were still there. Being there in the first week in October it was mostly foggy every day and the valley was 80* most days. We took a drive to Fred Meyers in Tillamook about 20 minutes away and it was sunny and no fog. Gas in Florence was $4.79 a gallon for regular. We camped at Barview Jetty Park in a Travel Trailer.

Great family campground

I have been taking my kids every August for the last 4 years or so. They have requested that this be an annual trip and I am happy to make that happen! The campground is always clean and stocked. We mostly camp in tents and the sites are roomy but most are sand which is a challenge but just part of camping at the coast. Sites closer to the water can get a bit windy. We have brought the tent trailer and trailer spots are a lityle bit parking lot-ish for my style. My kids love riding the bikes all Ober and having a playground is a huge bonus. We always do day trips and we have always felt comfortable leaving our site. I love that I don't have to reserve 8 months in advance usually a months or two...sometime a couple weeks before and we still get a great spot. It is a go-to spot for us!

Very Nice Campground

We camped here at the end of September and were pleasantly surprised. My brother invited us to meet them here, he says this is his favorite place on the coast. We stayed in the RV section with full hook-ups. These sites are pretty close together, but we don't stay at the site for long periods during the day, so no big issue for us.

We toured around the campground and found many sites that would accommodate our trailer that were very spacious and reasonably private that we would definitely go back and dry camp and probably will.

There was lots of easy access to the beach within walking distance. Tillamook was a short drive away for anything that one may have forgotten or tourism.

Our five-day stay was not enough time, but then again, we never get enough days at most campgrounds :(

Quite, comfortable and great location!

Great campground. Nice, level, full service RV sites. Only con is how close your neighbors are. Easy beach access. We stay 6 nights in our bumper pull. Can get windy here so watch that awning! Lots of tent sites in wooded areas. Would definitely stay here again.

Pretty spot.

This campground was very large. We stayed in a blue tent site and the site was a pretty good size with room to park our vehicle. Bathrooms had reduced cleaning and showers were completely closed due to a staffing shortage, which was unfortunate. Direct access to the beach from inside the campground, and there was also a day use area of the park at the campground entrance. There’s a small general store that has some groceries and camping supplies (and some delicious pizza!) right before you turn into the campground. The campground itself also sells firewood when the entrance station is open. Overall we had a nice little stay here.

Nicest people, excellent access to beaches, great amenities but very crowded. Considering it's busy season, totally expected. Every other place was booked and we found a single opening here. Tent and RV camping. Bathrooms, showers and even a playground.

Too costly

We used to stay here when the campsites were $10 a night, and the rv sites were 25 a night. Now they raised the price so high, plus they added a county tax, motel tax, and resort fees. But they are not a resort.

Hidden gem

We decided to try our luck looking for a last minute campsite on a holiday weekend.   After several stops, we stumbled across this campground and happily discovered that they had spaces available.

We agreed to reserve the available tent site for the weekend sight unseen and we have been so happily surprised by the entire experience.

Our campsite is spacious and relatively private with lots of trees and shrubbery around the perimeter.   We're just a short walk from the beach access and it's a great section of beach.

In walking and riding around we have found that there are a great number of good campsites here, both is size and privacy.

Some of the roads and paths are not paved and that could be a downside for some, but didn't bother us.

Near the center of the campground is a large RV/camper area that is much like a huge parking lot with picnic tables and fire pits next to each space.  I would not enjoy that type of camping,  but our tent site is far away from that area, so it didn't bother us.

The bathrooms are clean, but the showers were closed due to COVID restrictions.

There is also a large playground near the center of camp.

The nearby day use are connects to a long jetty sticking out into the ocean at the end of the beach section.   Many people come here to fish.

Very bussy campground now. COVID restrictions have been mostly removed.

May 2021. COVID restrictions were dropped for this park so ever full hook up camping spot was full this trip and only 4 feet between camps. So, as you can tell from my writing this was really close together camping. Our spot was#45 which was a back-in camp. There was enough room for our awning to open and our truck in front of our 21-foot trailer and this site is 45’ long. When you sat in your chair in your camp you were looking directly at your neighbors. Ugh!

The trouble with the campsites like#45 and many others here is they were originally 90-foot pull-throughs that were cut in half and utilities installed on both ends. So, when you back in you were faced with two portable wooden sign barrier’s that was in the back of the camping site between sites. So, each rig was back-to-back with little to no space between them. And even though there was a park rule of quite time from 10PM until 7AM there were many that were whooping it up until after 2AM.

Due to COVID the showers, playground and recreation hall were all still closed but the bathrooms were open and very clean. The tent areas had portable restrooms placed all around.

The next time we ever say at Bar View Jetty park we are going to ether pick a pull through site where there is 25’ between sites or we will pick a Tent site that has no hook ups and lots of space and privacy between spots.

Very large spacious place to camp at during COVID.

In October 2020 was a nice place to stay at with full hookups, sewer& a very clean place to stay. There are at least 10 people working to keep the area clean and well kept. The campsites were close together if it was not for COVID-19 restrictions where every other space need to be closed. The bathrooms were very clean. The showers were closed because of COVID-19 restrictions. A quick walk to the beach and jetty area. There is a hill with seats and a table overlooking the Ocean just at the Jetty area. We stayed at site#71 where there was a light on a pole that came on nightly and really took away our ability to see any stars, so if you want to see stars and sit mostly in the dark don't pick site#71 and a few others. This place has normally has 365 camping sites, but they had almost 70% of the camp sites closed because of COVID-19.

Our Go To Campground on the Oregon Coast

I have mixed emotions about this campground. It can be busy and it's not exactly off the beaten path, but we have never had a reservation and we always get a spot, even on a Friday night. That is pretty impressive for the Oregon coast, right on the 101. The sites are mixed. There are some parking lot-like RV spots but there are also some good spots that are surrounded by bushes and fairly private. It is a 10 minute walk to the beach where you can walk for miles which can't be beat.

We were at site D1. Not a bad site except that the lights from the nearby bathroom and a streetlight both lit up our site a bit.

There are bathrooms with hot water and showers (showers are closed currently because of COVID).  A good portion of the campground is currently closed because of COVID so I would probably recommend trying to make a reservation just in case, even though there are hundreds of sites.

The real draw of this campground for me is that it is open year round, it's fairly easy to get a site, some which are pretty good, and you are minutes from the ocean. There's nothing better than falling asleep to the sound of the ocean waves.

Decent backup option if state campgrounds are filled

We spent a summer weekend here after striking out trying to reserve a spot at one of the more prominent state campgrounds along the coast. While this campground isn't the most amazing, it is a decent backup option to squeeze in a coast stay during busy season.

Unfortunately the sites aren't particularly private, as they back up right against each other on multiple sides.

It's just ok

I've spent a few shoulder season nights at Barview, usually in the early-mid spring. At that time of year, you have a good chance of not having immediate neighbors. I stayed one night in the RV section, and don't think I'd enjoy it on a packed summer weekend. The RV hookup sites are really close, with no trees or other screen between trailers. The good news is that everyone has been super friendly whenever I'm there.

The tent sites are much more private with trees, though there are still a lot of sites. I think we paid about 50 bucks to camp in our van with our dog, though. At that price, the value just isn't there for me.

Solid Option for Coast Camping

Cool location near the ocean. Walking or biking to the jetty was fun. The jetty offers a unique landscape. The RV and camp sites are solid. Some really good ones, and others very basic and open. Close to Rockaway to the north and Bay City and Tillamook to the south. It’s a nice central location to other attractions. We prefer Cape Lookout, but this is a good alternative.

Perfect weekend getaway

This is a large campground. We went on July 3rd-4th and the campground was about 3/4 full. No neighbors in the campsite next to us or across from us which made it quite quiet.

A quick hour and 45 minutes from Portland, about 2 miles outside Rockaway Beach. The fire pits were in immaculate condition and the dinner we cooked over it was very yummy. There is a general store just off the campground boundaries in case you forget some things.

The only reason that isn't getting a full five stars is because you have to pay to take a shower. It's not really THAT big of a deal, and it's only 50 cents; I just wish they would've mentioned it on the website. I will absolutely return to this campground.
