Pacific City's beachfront strip puts Cape Kiwanda RV Resort and Marketplace directly across the road from Pelican Brewing and the Oregon coast, a location that shapes nearly everything about a stay here. Dory boats launch and return from the adjacent beach throughout the day, and the flat sandstone headland of Cape Kiwanda rises to the north, visible from the campground. Wild rabbits roam the property freely, a detail that surprises first-time visitors and delights most of them.
"Location is amazing, across the street from Pelican Brewery and the ocean," notes Blaine B., and that proximity defines the rhythm of a stay. Sites run close together, which reviewers consistently flag, though most note that the surrounding activity pulls campers off-site often enough that crowding feels less intrusive than it might elsewhere. The campground hosts a mix of full-hookup RV sites accommodating rigs up to 50 feet, plus cabin rentals with electric heat, a dorm fridge, microwave, and outdoor firepit. An on-site marketplace, playground, and indoor pool round out the amenities, though the pool closes at 6 p.m.
The annual Dory Days festival draws repeat visitors year after year, with a parade, roadside vendors, and food options throughout Pacific City. The Pelican Brewery across the street and several other restaurants within walking distance give campers solid dining without driving. On-site pizza is available, though reviews on that front are mixed. A gear-borrowing program for bikes and sandboards was added under recent ownership.
Hart's Camp sits just 0.1 miles northeast for campers weighing alternatives in the immediate area, and those planning a broader Oregon coast trip can browse campgrounds near Pacific City for additional options along the coast.
This is a busy property in peak summer months and during local events. Reservations are strongly advisable, and campers sensitive to noise should request a site away from the road.
