Scoutnice scenery, beautiful lake just wished they took a little better care of the campground. Showers don’t work, pit toilet smelled to hi heaven, and some of the porta-potties are full and have flies.
ScoutIt is a great tv spot, spaced out from your neighbors. Unfortunately it is next to a river trail full of homeless people. Now I don’t judge but there is a lot of screaming yelling and fighting with this crowd. Not a safe feeling
LegendWe stopped here because it was convenient after a 500+ mile day. It is a very clean RV Park but I think we were the only overnighters here. I called about an hour before our after hours arrival. The woman I spoke with on the phone, Mel, was super friendly. The clubhouse area is clean, and had laundry, a pool table, and clean bathrooms/showers. Nothing fancy but clean and hot water for the showers. It is right next to the 5 so there will be road noise. Nice field with horses behind our site.
TravelerWe had an excellent stay. My least favorite part about camping on the coast is the wind. This was far enough away from the beach to be sheltered by the dunes but still easy to access it with a short walk, bike, or drive. The lagoon area is beautiful and the camp sites are well separated from neighbors.

GuideThis place has everything you need but not everything I wanted. There are very few electric sites so I booed out which was fine. There are no showers. There are not as many toilets. I’d like to see. It’s damp here so you can have fires. Fire with those expensive nine dollars a bundle. It’s quiet and lovely. The camp host is a nice guy. The sign said the campground was full and I asked him if he was sure and he found that somebody had gone and I got a spot. Presumably the last spot on the Oregon coast on a Saturday.
GuideCross independence bridge and turn right then right again towards the bridge. Wide spot on the right but if you go past/under the bridge there is a remote farm entrance shaped like a triangle. I've parked here multiple times with no issues. 4 bars of T-Mobile.
TravelerHighlight: We paddled directly from campsite 13 (there’s also a put-in close by) for hours on the gentle Siltcoos River Paddle Trail. Almost reached the ocean but couldn’t get out of our boats due to protected nesting habitat. Came back and completed the trail to Siltcoos Lake to the east. Heron, belted kingfishers, osprey, eagles, sandpipers, … and few people.
Lowlight: noisy traffic from hwy 101 just yards away and from joyriders on loud whatevers on the dunes.
