So peaceful!

Just stopped in to use the restroom. And just the surroundings and whole vibe made me want to stay! I would have if rain was not forecasted. Can't wait to camp here!

Nice

Great place to boondock. Large sites in a private campground. A bit difficult to access as two signs give conflicting information. One must call to reserve but another sign says welcome to all...covered picnic tables, outhouses, large sites close to Alsea River under old Doug Fir. Shady and quiet. Hiking nearby.

Describing the amenities of Hubert McBee Park

ThereThere was recently a review I read made about Hubert McBee Park in alsea Oregon about how there was no restroom facilities and or trash receptacles.... And I'm here to say this is absolutely not true they DO have restrooms and they DO have garbage services and it also happens to be a very very nice clean and free local Campground and is not made! as an overflow for alsea Campground goers if they get full up!... just to make that clear so if alsea Campground is full up do not come to Mcbee Park especially if you haven't made reservations first period. I hope this helps whoever still enjoys real rugged outdoor camping like a true Oregonian!🙂

Very primitive

I scouted this park while staying at Alsea falls campground just down the road.

Mcbee park is actually on the trail between Alsea falls and Green peak falls. One of the sites has the trail going right through it.

The sites were very large and some had some old shelters and tables. It is owned by the nearby Hull-oakes lumber company, but is open to the public. It looks like a local spot, but I'm sure it would be a good backup if Alsea falls is fully booked. They take reservations via phone, number found on entrance sign. (See photo)

Be prepared though, there are no services whatsoever, except maybe trash, so all backcountry rules apply. All in all a good location and right on the creek.
