Not for RVs, Not for Solo Women

Stayed one night in this campground right off the road on my way back to Portland from Astoria. Apparently there is a transient camp up the road a bit and there are lots of cars coming through the site at all hours of the night. At 3am heard a loud fight or party, couldn't tell which. Felt…

Easy Family Camping

A quick 35 minute drive from Portland, Barton Park is an easy destination for family-friendly camping.

We camped here the first weekend in June with two other families, all with toddlers around the same age. The kids enjoyed the two playgrounds, wading in the river, and walking some nature…

Not quite as disbursed as I wanted

Nice small lake with a close to established campground. I was hoping for a true disbursed experience, you know boondock. There were established sites and a composting table. Nice spots, nice lake. Could pull in a 16’ trailer but until the camp site there is no other turn around spot so beware. More…

Beautiful setting

The park is in a beautiful location (right on a river) and staff is very nice. Cons: over half the park live there (and a couple residents were interesting…) and the highway noise is loud all night.

Very Beautiful, but avoid Weekends

This place gets CROWDED, and is hard to drive around/walk around due to the amount of day users.  Stayed in a cute yurt which was a bit of walk from the lake (~.25 mi) which is fine but getting my kayak down was a bit of a pain due to the amount of people occupying the road/parking etc.   Stunning…

Average; Good Bargain Stay

Definitely not upscale which can be a good thing. Friendly folks in the office and on the phone. Stayed Memorial Day weekend in a site along the Lewis River. Somewhat small sites, but not overly so. Restrooms were fairly clean, but some accumulation of leaves and dirt dragged in on shoes, Small…

Quiet, clean, well kept, no frills

Reservations on the phone were helpful and pleasant. Rest Rooms with showers are very clean all the time.  Maintenance workers are busy about the park weekdays. Ice machine use is included. Picnic table under a 20-30 ft tree on every site. Use your Good Sam club discount. Drive-through and back in…

Love this beach campground!

This is a beautiful park.  We've stayed here several times over the years.  My favorite is when I am able to snag a cabin reservation, but tent camping is also very pleasant here.  We're headed back later this summer and I can't wait.

The cabins are located near the day use area, but are back…

Beautiful beach camping

Love this campground!  We go every couple of years for a family campout at the coast.  The beach here is beautiful and we've always had a good experience in the campground.  Some sites are better than others and we've had trouble with wind in certain loops, but overall it's been a fantastic…

Ocean view, great location and amenities at your disposal

Flat paved rv sites, can see it getting crowded during peak season. Prices are on the higher end but you get what you pay for as they accommodate for fishing and crabbing.

Oregon state park campground near the Pacific Ocean

We happened to be on the Oregon Coast on a Friday night during nice spring weather. The website said there were still a few sites left so we drove there to secure one. It is best to reserve a site but we never do so you can still get a site the day of if you don’t have a reserved site and there are…
