Nice hosts, not good for RVs

Mark is super nice and quick to respond to email and text. Awesome outdoor bathroom with running water, sink and shower. There are 5+ chicken/turkey coops so recognize they talk EARLY and often.

Place is hard to find (dyrt—>Google directions were wrong), so call ahead and make sure you have correct directions. Little/no access to internet so do not assume you can make phone calls or use phone apps.

We have a large trailer and ended up having to back it down and park on the gravel driveway. Only level spot and required others to drive in the grass to get around us. Not ideal and felt bad for blocking their access.  Site 3 designed for RVs is not level and not recommended.

If your ok with roosters early in the am, I think this would be a cool place to tent camp, with 1.2 miles and easy access to Hagg lake.

A lovely location with a charming family

Perhaps the only thing bad to say about this place is they need to put their address on the site. Perhaps they are reluctant to, there is a family that lives there, but it would of saved me a whole lot of trouble.

The GPS from the app leads to the wrong house. This resulted in a lot (and I mean a lot of cussing coming from my unholy lips).

The husband emailed me the address and directions, and from that point everything went smoothly.

The place is a beautiful house on a hill, which allows you to camp in the wooded areas. It is a working chicken farm, with breeding, egg hatching, and lots of cockles. Charming!

They have an outhouse/shower/sink on the property so you can get cleaned up no problem.

The roosters, quite frankly, don’t give a dam what time it is, they start their roostering at 2 am, so it was a bit hard to get sleep.

But that’s all part of the experience. I enjoyed looking at all the hens, roosters, and turkeys immensely. It brought me back to my childhood when we had our own birds, and would scoop up the eggs for our own use.

Just remember, get directions before you drive out and you’ll have a great time. Couldn’t expect a more hospitable host anywhere.

Cheers!

Fun weekend getaway

We stayed at the hagg lake house and had a blast. It was a little hard to find with just coordinates and gps pretty spotty but we found the house and was greeted and shown our area. We selected the view option and was not disappointed minus the owl howling lol but had a great view and very quiet. The place does have a really nice bathroom with shower and toilet and a sink. I was very pleased with our visit and definitely will be recommending to friends and coming back.
