Free easy camping

We decided to stay here on our journey because of the great reviews. It’s not bad… it seems most of the reviews are local , and going by that it is a 5 star spot… it’s an army core of engineers man made damn lake that was built in 53 . Lots of great pads for tent and medium rvs. It’s a bit of a…

Not as nice as parks out West

Not as nice as other parks along our i40 route from CA to GA, but hospitality was great and appreciated the kindness of the folks who manage this property. Little sketchy of the red/brown lake water to swim in and the bugs are massive compared to the desert. Lol but we loved the lush forests,…

Great Lake Access, In Need Of Some Updating

I had always wanted to stay at this park after passing it a million times on the highway. I was very excited only to arrive and the office had closed early. Cell signal was sparse so I could not book online where I was so I opted to drive the campsites and find a spot in hopes of improved service…

Just love it.

I personally have been camping here since I was a child. Now we bring grandkids with us. We love it here for a quick weekend or a week.

Robbers Cave State Park

Nice Park, we stayed in Old Loop and didn’t realize they have very new amenities at the site prior to ours if your looking for the bathhouse. The camp area is separate from the lake area, it is across the main road. Nice park!

Great tent camping

We stayed at Bobcat tent camping and loved it the spots were spaced enough apart where you are not on top of other campers the spots were very clean also the front office is great at helping out if you want to move spots last minute I will say we had no service at all so be prepared for that :)

Great Park Small Campsite

We absolutely loved this park. We got a last minute reservation and got only site we could. We do not recommend DF004. It is a small site right on top of neighbors. The good thing is there are bike/hike trails attached to loop. The bouldering was so much fun and my kids played for hours. We…

Nice place

I enjoyed my stay.  I was able to get in even though I didn't make a reservation.  I might add that most gov run camps now require online booking and payment.  Some of the sites are small and would be hard to get a larger RV into so you might want to call the keepers and ask about that.  Nice…

Arrowhead State Park

Tent camped at Lakeview site #254. The sites aren’t well marked but they’re right near the water. There’s a good playground and the bathrooms were decent. There’s a marina restaurant nearby and plenty of hiking.

Greenleaf State Park

We had a great time tent camping here on Labor Day Weekend. Beautiful park with grassy tent sites. Nice hiking trail. Bathrooms could stand to be updated. There is a marina where you can rent canoes and kayaks and buy supplies. There is a mini golf course too. The absolute best part of this park is…

A definite treat!

My crew of 4 spent two nights there. It was a tad windy, but the bathrooms were nice and spacious, the layout of the entire site was nice although the map made it a tad difficult to find our site. They were out of passport stickers, but if that is the worst that happens in a weekend, we are golden.…

2nd Visit - will again given the chance

Our first visit was in November and the fall color was stunning.

Early March for this visit and definitely winter scapes...but still beautiful.

Trout fishing just steps away from camp and we had the whole campground to ourselves for the night.

The afternoon hours did have some rambunctious local…

Campgrounds Vary

We booked a Deep Ford campsite online but were disappointed when we arrived. The sites were really close together with almost no privacy. There were a lot of people parked in the campground lot for fishing during the day, so it felt pretty cramped. Luckily, you can change your reservation online.…
