Best Campgrounds near Purcell, OK

We stayed at site 71 and it was just an amazing site. It's got the benefit of being the last site on the walk up trail do you get a lot of space to play around! Bathrooms were very clean and the solar showers rocked! Just an amazing visit all around!

Nice family campground close to ‘Little Niagara Falls’ where the kiddos can play in the Creek and falls. We went on weekend and it was very busy. No camp host but the NPS rangers were very active and responsive. No alcohol at this park. Within driving distance to lake nearby. Several camping areas closed during September within the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. Overall fun with lots of young families enjoying the outdoors.

Park hasn't seen investment in a while. We'll spaced sites. 30 Amp power was strong enough to run both of our air conditioners. Boat to sites at a few sites.

Sites arent all packed together so you get a little privacy compared to some other places ive stayed. Fairly close to the boat ramp

Nice little peninsula, watched the sun come up over the water. Quiet and flat camp spot.

The new park manager is very nice, very accommodating and helpful. Park is clean, great fishing off the dam, kayak, carry on boats, and such. The lake is absolutely beautiful, great for family outings and gatherings - there are fire pits for fires, picnic tables, and grills. Great place for the dogs as well, loved walking the dam.

We didn't stay but rode our bikes over from Little Ax to ride the bike trails. No one there except the campground hosts but we explored the campground and area. Very nice. Lots and lots of trails including and unmarked but paved trail. We are here for a few days and will come back again to do more. Great view of the dam and the lake from the dock and they allow one to bike and walk across the dam.

We stayed here on our way out in December. For visitor center was quite nice and the staff quite friendly. We only stayed for a night but we had enough time to walk the trails close which were very nice. It seems there's more activities on the other side of the lake if that's what you want to do there's trails and multiple places to put in a boat and to tie it up closer to where you would stay.

The spots are nice and level in the bathrooms are well maintained. From here you can hop over to some mountain bike trails which will explore tomorrow. There is excellent cell service if you have Verizon so I get to work from here for a few days. Pretty much every spot has a great view of the lake. Every spot also has its own seeming little beachfront which is really quite cool. And I have to mention there's a laundromat that's very reasonably priced which I tried to see it earlier if it was here and that wasn't listed.

We're staying next door and decided to go over and see the campground. Part of it looks like it hasn't been used in a long long time and the rest is probably only open in the summer. There are modern bathrooms and showers and access to the lake but that's about all that's there. To get over to the rest of the campgrounds you actually need to go out on a pretty busy road.

Ok camping No bike trails No Buffalo No river Unless you go closer to town

We got to pet the Alpacas and the 3 Great Pyrenees kept us company. We camped early Jan and it was cold. Kathy was very friendly and helpful.

Nice campspots as we are passing through Oklahoma, near Norman and restaurants/grocery stores. Quiet with decent shower and bathrooms.

The spot we found was level, but has pulled into the spot next door first and it was not very level. You can't beat the price for $26 a spot for electric. They also don't tack on non-resident fees like some states wish is appreciated. Tourism brings additional money into the state. Thank you!

My family has camped, or 'Day Camped,' for birthdays, distant relative visits, etc. for years. We try to avoid July 4th time frame...just too crowded. Along ice cold Travertine Creek, quick dips or extended swims are mere steps away! Plenty of hiking trails nearby as well.
