Easy - off season

We arrived after dark and left early. It was super easy to pay at the drop box at the office on the west lot.

We didn’t get to see much but needed electric overnight, so we took a chance in finding a spot and there were many during our off-season visit. We parked in the E/W spots, east lot 1-20. There were 6 other RV’s.

This was my best nights sleep for days. Highway noise could be heard outside but didn’t bother us overnight.

Clean county park

East entrance has sites with no hookups for $20. Weather entrance has hookups for $25. Within park, but outside of campground are a handful of free, primitive sites. Small, but pleasant lake. Walking path, pier, and some grills and firepits along lakeshore, just past the Campground. Bathrooms and showers within campground, but are closed at night.

Great

Arrived at about 1AM after we had some car trouble. Campground was great because you can pay 24/7 by filling out the envelope at the office and putting it in the drop box. Interstate noise is definitely loud but also heard an owl as we were laying it down. Bathrooms are really far away from the $20 spots and locked after 7 so relieve yourself at a gas station before you get there if you are tent/car camping. We stopped late February and had no issues finding a spot.

City Park

There is so much to love about this park! The PROS: so.much.space! There is so much space at the spots, in the camp, so many spaces, it’s lovely. The people are super nice! The laundry is one of the best I’ve seen. The price is great, check in is easy. It’s first come, first serve. CONS: there are no guide lights on the roads, very dark on late check-in nights. Poor signage. You wander through the park to get to the office. Obviously I made it so not overly taxing on a tired mind after a grueling drive. After now none of the cons are cons because I know so now you know and there are no cons for this place for you!
