Lake Thunderbird State Park - Rose Rock RV Campground

Anglers and water sports enthusiasts will find Lake Thunderbird State Park's Rose Rock RV Campground positioned about half a mile from the main lake. This state park facility provides electric hookups with 30-amp service that reviewers confirm runs both air conditioning units simultaneously. The campground operates with walk-in access and maintains a park host who sells firewood to guests.

Sites sit close together with concrete picnic tables, fire rings, and grills at each spot. Amy B. notes that "picnic tables are on the back side of the camp site to impossible to use" due to their positioning. The bathroom facilities include showers but reviewers describe them as dated and dim inside. A small playground serves families with young children.

Several campers mention encountering small stickers throughout the area that attach to pet fur and camping gear. The lake access requires a short walk from the camping area, where visitors can fish, swim, and launch boats at select sites. Other nearby options include Critter Alley — Lake Thunderbird State Park and Lake Thunderbird State Park Campground.

Reservations are available for this facility, which allows pets throughout the campground. Bring extra cleaning supplies for gear and consider the table placement when planning your site setup.

Small COE park.

Park hasn't seen investment in a while. We'll spaced sites. 30 Amp power was strong enough to run both of our air conditioners. Boat to sites at a few sites.

Camp sites are very close together. Bathrooms are in a serious need of an update. Lake is about half a mile away from campground. There are little stickers everywhere that get into your pets fur and gets trapped in carpets forcing you to trash any rugs. Picnic tables are on the back side of the camp site to impossible to use.

Good for families with small children

Campgrounds boast a variety of concrete tables, fire rings, and grills. There is a park host, who sells fire wood. Campground also has a small playground appropriate for young children. The bathroom is clean and has a shower, but is dark.
