Best RV Parks & Resorts near Chickasaw National Recreation Area, OK

This is one of our favorite tent and trailer camping locations in Oklahoma. It is quiet with all the hookups you need plus restrooms and showers within in a close walk on Loop C where reservations are required. Great sunset views over the Lake of the Arbuckles, great hiking in the Chickasaw National Recreation Area, and close shopping in Sulphur.

We've been staying at this gated RV Resort since May, 2023. The new owners are amazing! Customer service is top notch and they do everything to make you feel at home. There is complimentary trash pickup, a dog walking area with dog stations, benches for relaxing and watching stunning sunsets, on-site laundry, propane and ice for sale and a fish cleaning station. Park also has complimentary wif-fi and Verizon and AT&T work well here. Owners are currently in the process of remodeling the office, 3 bathrooms and they are adding a fitness area. There will be a general store complete with snack items and ice cream once complete. All sites are full hook up, 30 and 50 amp sites available. Lake Texoma and the boat launch is 1/4 mile away. The owners provide complimentary boat launch passes too. There is a casino with cafe approximately 1 mile away, 9-hole golf course about 2 miles away and multiple restaurants and shopping within a half hour.  We also went on a fishing charter with Triple Header Fishing Guide (thfgtx@gmail.com) and it was so fun. We highly recommend this RV Resort. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

Overall, I was very well pleased with the whole Park and especially the people. Apparently the management of the RV Park has been recently re-organized. The red rose River Rv Park is now Ardmore Lakes RV resort. The RV service area is still separate with the old version of the name. I was very interested in having some work done on my fifth wheel so I called them about that in advance. I arranged to stay four days and have five solar panels mounted on my RV. That worked out very well. I ended up staying another full week. I have to say the expenses were well worth it, but topped out my budget for the month. Seven nights was $350 even though in December about all of the amenities were shut down. They do have a storm shelter, just in case.

This RV park is one of our favorites. The amenities are amazing, concrete pads, full hook ups, a fishing pond, great pool, volleyball, basketball, and dog park made our 10 day stay incredible. I didn’t use them, but my husband said the bathrooms/showers were the cleanest he’s ever seen. Aside from how great the actual park is, the staff is amazing, best customer service ever and they do all they can to make you feel welcome. 

The park is minutes from the marina, a fishing pier, and great hiking. We just left and are already booking another trip this summer.

Great campground for RVers. Full hook ups but along the shoreline just electric and water

   Campground is newer and paved pull throughs are very long and wide.  With paved patio for our site.  We had 38’ 5th wheel w 4 slides and still had room on sides and behind RV for 2nd vehicle.  Patio area on sites do not have picnic tables which is one reason I did not give them a 5.  Being right off interstate is convenient but you will hear traffic during daytime.   We heard nothing in bedroom overnight though.  Robin owner is super friendly and helpful!  Bathrooms closest to us were nice and clean.   Huge shower area.   I’d say 20% of RVs are here long term    Some a little sloppy in appearance and others do very nice job in their lot.   One resident is a Police Officer and his cruiser is parked there when he is off duty.  But very safe area and comfortable.     Definitely stay here again

This was the first time we camped in Loop C, which is reserve only. It was in January, so the Loop was about 1/3rd full with mostly RVs. Loop D, first come, first serve, had less campers. RV sites have water & electric & tent sites have shared water. The restrooms were very nice, clean and heated. We stayed at site 81C, which was a challenge to back into because of trees that were close to drive. The pad was fairly level & the picnic table/fire pit pad was separated from the RV pad. I could only imagine how secluded this site would feel with vegetation on the trees. This loop also had many tent sites and all the tent & RV sites are well sized & spaced. Some RV sites closer to the water look like they would be a challenge to level, but most sites have fairly level pads & all sites have very level picnic/fire pit pads for an area that has some generally steep slopes. There was only one lake view RV site in Loop C, 56C, that had the hookups on the side that pointed the front door towards the lake, but all had a gorgeous view from the picnic/fire pit pads. Absolutely love the Chickasaw National Recreational Area because of the many activities this park offers & its history.

I really liked the Point Campground in the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. There are great walk-in campsites. They are not far from the parking lot but they have great shade and nice level platforms for your tent. If you have a hammock there are great trees for hanging out.

There are great camper and RV sites with electricity. The bathrooms are modern but could be kept a little cleaner. That is why I didn't give it 5 stars.

The lake is beautiful and there are several campsites along the lake with awesome views. The scenery and hiking trails make this a great stop.

This is a beautiful COE campground on the Lake of the Arbuckles near Sulphur, OK in the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. There’s a variety of tent and RV sites from lakeside to sites enclosed in trees. 50, 30, 20 amp service with water, mostly level and easy to back-in. The shower house was clean though a little dated. The dump station worked as it should and had easy access.

Lake Murray State Park located near Ardmore Oklahoma has something for everyone. Water activities on the centerpiece 5,278 surface acre Lake Murray, 18 hole golf, picnicking, fishing, camping, trail riding, hayrides, 30 miles of hiking, swimming, miniature golf, 100 acres of ATV trails, several marinas and more. Accommodations include Lake Murray Lodge, 56 cabins and six campgrounds. The campgrounds are dotted around the lake with tent and RV sites of varying hook-ups; 30& 50 amp electric, water and some full-hook-up with table, fire ring and grill. Each campground has a camp host, paved roads, modern bathhouses, dump stations, pull-through sites, lake front sites, concrete pads with both open and shaded sites. Research the sites to find one to accommodate your rig. Our choice was Elephant Rock Campground. The nearby town of Ardmore has all the amenities: shopping, dining, groceries, fuel and Walmart. WARNING: Oklahoma State Parks charge a daily parking fee per vehicle of$10 in addition to the camping fee and they enforce it...just saying from experience...read the information carefully! I like Rock Creek campground in the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. It is my second favorite on that side of the lake behind The Point campground. It is clean and well maintained.

The camp sites are large with a lot of tree cover. There are some nice rock formations and good hiking trails. This is a solid campground. I not would consider this a vacation destination but would make a fun weekend trip.

Nice family campground close to ‘Little Niagara Falls’ where the kiddos can play in the Creek and falls. We went on weekend and it was very busy. No camp host but the NPS rangers were very active and responsive. No alcohol at this park. Within driving distance to lake nearby. Several camping areas closed during September within the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. Overall fun with lots of young families enjoying the outdoors.

Lake Texoma State Park has a few different campgrounds. We stayed at Catfish Bay for a quick little weekend getaway. 

The campground was nice, quiet, and clean. There were a lot of families and about 50/50 RVs and tents, although most of the tents were in a separate area further down the peninsula.

The RV section has both full hookups and water/electric hookups. The prettiest sites are the ones without sewer, and the next time we go for just a weekend we'll pick one of those. Most of the RV sites have nice, level concrete pads (except the one we choose ... spot 11 ... crushed granite). The full hookup sites are packed in like a row of dominoes but there's plenty of room for awnings and slide-outs.

The park has a marina where you can get ice, beverages, chips, etc. You can also rent boats and tubes for the day.

All-in-all it was a nice weekend and we will probably go back.

Cold Springs group camp is a first come first serve campground. What is nice is that the self pay station is automated with a credit card machine. This is an awesome feature. It really stinks to show up to a campground, not have enough money, and then have to find an ATM to pay the camp fees. This has happened to me before.

The campsites are decent and set up for tents. The campground is decent but I prefer The Point Campground or Rock Creek to camp in the Chickasaw National Recreation Area.

Central is the smallest of the Chickasaw National Recreation Area campgrounds. It is meant for groups but honestly, it is pretty average. It is right next to the main road and just doesn't have a lot to offer. There is a lot of open space and the campsites are pretty boring.

The positive is that it is very clean and the campground itself is surrounded by trees. If you are desperate for a group campground then it will work, but it is not nearly as spectacular as The Point campground in the same National Recreation Area.
