    Mustang Run RV Park

    Great for an overnight stay

Mustang run isn’t to far from Oklahoma City off I-40 and is locally owned. Also close to State fair. It is at the end of a lane next to a hotel. You can hear lots of traffic from the interstate. It has 2 dog runs, storm shelters, pool, playground, laundry, and nice clubhouse. So everything you might need. There are pull through sites and back in. The sites are concrete so level. They are full hook ups with cable and wi-fi. There are no tent sites here. The nightly rate is $49 but they do except Good Sam discount. They also have weekly and monthly rates.

Turkey Pass — Lake Thunderbird State Park

    Great spot

50 amp, water, sewer dump station on the way out, concrete pad, picnic table under the shade tree, fire pit, 5g T-Mobile cell service. Trees need to be trimed from the campground, you will get your rig scratched. We have a 40 foot fifthwheel and was able to find several sites that would work fot sat dish. Sites are not on top of each other. Lots of places for walks and the boat launch is just down the hill. We will stay here again, just hope they trim the trees.

    Lake Carl Blackwell

    Relaxing time

We reserve two sites side by side in the beaver cove campground. The sites are on a slight decline but pull through and we were able to make them level with our blocks. The sides have enough room for the grandkids to roam around it besides for electric and water only but offered a view of the lake and we're close by a swim area. The trees at the sides provided adequate shade for the afternoon sun and the campground offered boat ramps couple of swim areas and on-site store for gas and supplies including and after hours vending machine with propane tanks and charcoal and s'mores supplies. The dump station provided slots for three RVs at one time and well thought out. The crap ground offers hiking bicycle and horse trails that cover a large area. Wildlife was abundant with plenty of deer and Canadian geese and squirrels. The campgrounds offer some annual sites for long-term visits but there is a waiting list to be on that.

    Twin Fountains RV Park

Great Base to Explore Oklahoma City

Twin Fountains is right off where I-35 and I-44 meet in Oklahoma City so it's fairly easy to get to this campground (CG). We were immediately met by staff, handed our info package and escorted to pull through site P-1 with FHUs. Actually, this site is right in front of the main building and on the twin fountains pond. There are utilities on both sides of this site so you can pull in either direction. We went across the street and turned around in the health department parking lot so we could have our door on the pond side. If you arrive during main business hours and there are a lot of cars in the parking lot across the street, larger rigs will do a couple of small curb jumps. The tiny patio with the picnic table on P-1 is right outside your door with the fire pit right beside it and you are sharing your yard with pond visitors. There is no cable TV here but lots of OTA channels. There are a lot of trees in the central CG area so satellite might be iffy. Their WiFi was spotty and poor during our 5 nights stay. There is a lot of road noise no matter where you stay in the CG, and this park packs them in with both full timers and transits. Upside is the park is clean, there’s laundry, pool, putt putt golf, and little restaurant/bar. Due to the CG’s location this is an excellent place to stay to explore OKC. There are two fenced dog runs, one is tiny and the main one is longer, but very narrow. However, across the street from the entrance/exit, there are several sidewalk style walking trails. We routinely visit OKC to visit family and thought we’d give this park a try. Overall, this is a nice park, but it just isn't our style. We prefer state/county parks and so, we'll opt for another location next time we're in town.

    El Reno West KOA

Easy access- ridiculously close to neighbors

We were in Site# 66. We had Full hook- up with a paved pull-through.
We travel towing a 14 foot trailer and were able to fit both in our pull through site along with my jeep.

The site was easy to level. Our site was not shaded with limited trees. In eight years of RV-ing, we’ve never had such little space between us and our neighbors. We literally walk out our door into their sewer. (See pictures) My husband can touch both RVs with his arms outstretched.

The lot did not come with a concrete patio, picnic table, or a fire ring. Some lots had a picnic table. We did not request one since we’d be eating at our neighbor’s sewer.

It is an easy access to the campground from highway -(right off the highway).

There is free WiFi. They offer Cable TV and there are many local channels).

They do not sell wood here.

They do not provide garbage service at your site but there are many barrel drum trash cans that can be accessed.

You are allowed to ride personal golf carts. They do not provide golf cart rentals. There is really not a need to have a Golf cart because it is a smaller campground.

They do have a Swimming pool (not heated & freezing). They have a fishing Lake on property (it is hidden behind some cabins so you could stay here & never know the lake is here). There are two Buffalo that are owned by the owners of the restaurant and trading post above the KOA (who also own the KOA).

There is a Playground and jumping pad for kids. They have a basic general store.

There is not a snack bar/restaurant on site but there is a restaurant at the top of the hill.

The streets are paved and good for riding bikes. There is not really anywhere to ride bikes outside of campground.

This is a RV park but also have many cabins for rent and tent areas.

They have 2 shower houses. The shower house has the typical stalls. These are kept very clean.

There is a laundry facility. It is a cash only facility. You’ll need to get change in the main office while they are open (no change machine). There are approximately 6 washers and 6 dryers. It is approximately $2 to wash and $2 to dry a load.

They have a fenced in dog park.

Bugs were an issue and bug spray was definitely needed.

There were no trails to hike in the campground.

We’ve noticed that the casinos nearby mainly offer slot machines only (very few have live tables (craps, roulette, blackjack,etc.).

    Mustang Run RV Park

    Excellent RV Park

This RV Park is very very nice. It sits right beside the highway, so there is quite a bit of traffic noise, but other than that, This RV park is top of the line. I generally prefer a more rural setting, but we came to OKC to visit friends and found this gem. The parking spaces are wide and easy to get in and out of. Of course full hook ups with 50 amp service. There was cable TV, with lots of channels (a luxury we have not experienced on our three month journey). The cell service was good here (AT&T), and the park wifi worked better here than any other place we’ve stayed. It is Springtime here in Oklahoma City, so that means tornado season. Not my favorite thing - torrential rains, hail, wind, thunder, lightening, and every bodies favorite - tornadoes! We stayed here for a week, and nearly every night we had buckets of rain. We were glued to the news channels a couple of nights in fear of golfball sized hail, or worse - the dreaded tornado! This Was V park has 4 or 5 underground shelters, which is somewhat of a comfort. The dog park here is good. They have trash pick up service everyday- you just put your bag out by your camper and they come pick it up. While here, we went to the Bombing Memorial. I would definitely come back - just not in the Spring!
