Great for the price and location

      Nice campground near Cuyahoga

We were in the area exploring Cuyahoga Nat Park and found Silver Springs. It was 18$ for a site with electric hook ups (15$ if you are a Stow resident) No option for no paying less for no hook-up camping. Water close by and port a pottie style bathrooms close to the camp sites. There are flush toilets a walk away but we didn’t use them. Sites are big and grassy but not super level. Wasn’t a big issue for us but could be for a bigger camper. The campground was calm and quiet. Lots of trails close by. Dog park down the street as well as a play ground and fishing pond! We had a great few days staying here and will be back if we are even passing thru Stow again.

      Silver Springs Campground

      Lots of options!

We really loved this little spot! It appealed to all of what we were looking for, our camp host was awesome. There was even a dog park within walking distance- a lot of trails to explore too. No showers and the Porto potties weren't the cleanest... But they were functional. Very hospitable locals- we were invited to a square dancing party that evening in the park! Very comfy and safe.

      Silver Springs Campground

      Great parking

The bathrooms are portojons and there are no showers, however there is THE best dog park I have ever seen in this area. So my dogs loved this campground more than me and that was worth it. It was dark enough to see a space station cross the sky at night. The camping spaces are rather close, but so many people want to camp there, because of its proximity to everything amazing.

    Guide to Mogadore

Campgrounds near Mogadore, Ohio provide access to the 1,000-acre Mogadore Reservoir, a popular fishing destination in the region at approximately 1,000 feet elevation. The area features predominantly level terrain with seasonal weather patterns that can impact camping conditions, particularly after heavy rainfall when some sites may experience flooding. Winter camping options are limited as most facilities close between October and April.

    What to do

Fishing access: At Heritage Farms, campers can enjoy fishing nearby while staying at a working Christmas tree farm. "From the Towpath Trail, there's a connection at Canal St, which is a little easier than using the actual trail-head a little north of there," notes Josh W. This provides options for anglers seeking different fishing spots.

Water recreation: Mill Creek Camping offers multiple water activities with direct lake access. "Nice boat dock! Love the lake front sites!" writes Sami Jo L., while another camper mentions "Numerous fishing and open swimming opportunities (basically anywhere you want along the water)."

Hiking trails: Several campgrounds connect to trail networks. Tommy K. notes that at Countryside Camp Ground, "The Buckeye trail connects to the footpath down to the reservoir." These natural paths allow campers to explore the area's woodland habitat without venturing far from their sites.

    What campers like

Clean facilities: Silver Springs Campground maintains well-kept restrooms despite basic amenities. "The vaulted toilets were very clean and we could also use what seemed to normally be the bathrooms affiliated with sporting fields which have hot water and flush toilets," reports Lauren.

Privacy levels: Site separation varies significantly across campgrounds. At Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park, campers note the family-oriented layout: "Very inexpensive as well for added items such as wood, ice, etc... Also, great Putt Putt course," mentions Chuck E., highlighting the value beyond just the campsite itself.

Natural settings: Abbey E. describes Heritage Farms: "Our site was beautiful and private. We also had a lot of space. We couldn't really see or hear any other campers." This contrasts with more developed campgrounds in the area that focus on amenities over seclusion.

    What you should know

Seasonal limitations: Most campgrounds operate May through October. "Only open in the summer," notes J M. about Mill Creek Camping, making advance planning essential for peak season visits when sites fill quickly.

Weather impacts: Rain can significantly affect camping conditions. At Jellystone Park, one review mentioned "after a huge downpour of rain for a day, our beautiful premium site flooded." This is consistent across several area campgrounds with grassy or partially gravel sites.

Reservation requirements: Popular campgrounds like Streetsboro-Cleveland SE KOA require advance booking during peak season. "They were accommodating to our late arrival and left a map and gate key at the office for the late arrivers," notes Scott C., indicating flexibility for registered guests.

    Tips for camping with families

Dog-friendly policies: For pet owners seeking dog friendly campgrounds near Mogadore, Kathryn P. notes that Countryside Campground is "Beautiful place... Everyone we met were pleasant and welcoming, from the Staff, Owner's and Seasonal Campers." The campground welcomes dogs with specific areas for pet exercise.

Kid-focused activities: Family camping options are plentiful. Michael J. explains that Clay's Park is perfect "if you have kids there is no place better tons of things to do, great water park, amusement place near by, good people and nice family atmosphere."

Noise considerations: Some campgrounds have variable noise levels. Dawn R. reports about Jellystone, "There are quiet hours but they weren't enforced while we were there. There were two groups staying in cabins who were arguing loudly outside and playing loud music." Families should select sites accordingly.

    Tips from RVers

Site leveling: When selecting RV sites, Joe F. advises about Countryside Campground: "Lots are pretty tight in that area. Advice - get there early or you'll have many vehicles and campers to watch for as you back in!" This practical insight helps RVers plan their arrival timing.

Water and electric hookups: For those needing reliable utilities, Cuttys Sunset Camping Resort offers full hookup options. "Stayed two days - lots to do, friendly staff and campers. In a pull through site - easy access," notes sonja M., though another camper mentions "The spots are soooo small. You open your door and there is a picnic table and then the next camper."

Dump station conditions: RVers should check dump station functionality before arrival. At Cherokee Park Camground, one camper experienced issues: "When we went to dump after the weekend there dump station was over flowing and I couldn't even empty my tanks." This highlights the importance of confirming essential services are operational.
