      Cross Creek Camping Resort

Big Resort with lots of trees

This is a RV resort close to a lake with a lot of seasonal campers. It is busy on the weekend but was very quiet during the week. The sites are close, but not unreasonably close. Good mix of pull through and back in and is big rig friendly. Plenty to do for the kids. Pool looks nice, was not open yet for the season.

      Hocking River RV Park

Scenic, easy in/out and on the river

Stayed here 4 nights, pull through spots require a little bit of maneuvering with big rig (43’ fifth wheel). There was some mud where camper wheels were situated in the spot (needs material). Fire rings are not near RV but behind across the road on the river. Bath house is just ok - not great, not gross. Close proximity to lots of hiking but Hocking Hills itself has become so crowded… don’t come if you want to get away from people.

      Hocking Hills KOA Holiday

      Great first time KOA experience

We have never stayed at a KOA before and were very happy with this campground. The staff were friendly and professional, the sites were clean, and there were a wide variety of sites to choose from. From primitive tent sites tucked back in the woods to large RV sites with water/sewer/electric/cable hookups. We are first-time owners of a 29 ft Fifth Wheel and got a pull-through site. It offered little in the way of privacy, which was the only negative about the whole experience. Our site included a fire ring and a picnic table, along with all the hook ups. The night we arrived we were too tired to cook so ordered a pizza from the front office and they delivered it to our site. They also deliver wood directly to you. They escort you directly to your site so you don't get lost or go down a one-way road the wrong way. There was a nice little pool, but it wasn't open for the season yet. The shower houses were immaculate. The front office includes a little gift shop, ice cream, and pizza. This campground was also located close (within a few miles) to all the main hiking trails, and about 12 miles from Logan. The little road going up to the campground is VERY bumpy. It's not the campground road, it belongs to the Township, so its completely out of their ability to make improvements. This was only our second time out in our fifth wheel camper so it was a little scary, but we just drove slow and our truck handled it just fine. We will definitely be back to this wonderful campground as we love Hocking Hills.

      Would stay again

This walk in camp ground was located just minutes from Old Man’s Cave. It’s a family friendly and pet friendly camp ground. Our stay was quiet and relaxing.

      Cross Creek Camping Resort

      Excellent Campground!

Cross Creek Camping Resort in Delaware, Ohio is a very nice campground with friendly staff and lots of amenities! There are large back-in and pull-thru sites, each with grass, tree, picnic table, and fire pit. They are 30/50 amp with FHU. The campground has lots of fun things for the family such as swimming pool, playground, basketball, tennis, dog run, laundry, yard games, and so much more! The store is stocked with snacks, souvenirs, clothing, camping supplies, holiday decor, etc. We love the large shade trees at every site. It is a blessing on those hot summer days. All in all, a great campground! Check it out when in the area. 👍🏻😉

      Berkshire Campgrounds

      Incorrect pricing

The price advertised on The Dyrt is incorrect. It is not $38.50/day. We paid $50.29 with full hook ups. Very clean, staff very nice, but guests are not allowed without registering at the office. Many seasonal/full time residents which made for quite a bit of early morning traffic. Beautiful fishing pond with well groomed trails. Dogs are allowed off leash on the trails. Staff very pet friendly and courteous. Well appointed camp store. Water pressure excellent. Electric well within standard. Gravel pads, our site was off 2”.

    Guide to Lithopolis

RV campgrounds near Lithopolis, Ohio offer varying terrain and recreational opportunities within 30 miles of the city. The region features rolling hills with elevations ranging from 840 to 1,050 feet above sea level. Summer camping temperatures typically range from 60°F to 85°F, with thunderstorms common between June and September.

    What to do

Watercraft activities: At Hocking River RV Park, the riverfront location provides kayaking opportunities. "This small and cost effective campground is so awesome! The river is small and is perfect to have a fire right next to. We also just went up the highway a little to a rafting rental place called murrys landing to raft down the river," reports Aysia C.

Disc golf: Jackson Lake Park features an on-site disc golf course alongside its lake activities. The park offers various outdoor recreation options beyond water activities. "The little lake was so much fun. My children were upset we had to leave early due to the storm coming in," notes samantha H.

Fishing: Several campgrounds offer fishing opportunities, with most sites requiring an Ohio fishing license. Kokosing River Campground provides lake access for anglers. "Kayaking on the lake is great. Camp staff very friendly and helpful," shares Mark B.

    What campers like

Quiet atmosphere: Many campers appreciate the peaceful settings at several campgrounds. "So beautiful! Perfect right on the river... decent shower houses... peaceful little campground," writes Shianne G. about Hocking River RV Park.

Child-friendly amenities: Tomorrow's Stars RV Resort receives praise for its recreational options. "Fun location just off the highway. Perfect for a family, has swimming pool, putt putt, and other child friendly activities... also has small fishing pond," notes Buck B.

Convenient locations: Several campgrounds offer strategic positioning for travelers. "Not a sightseeing destination, but very convenient place to stop for the night if you're on a road trip doing a lot of driving," comments a visitor about camping options in the region.

    What you should know

Bathroom facilities vary: Maintenance of restrooms differs significantly between campgrounds. At Jackson Lake Park, one camper noted: "The bathrooms were the most disgusting thing ever!! Their was actually a sign that said ecoli was found in one of the bathrooms."

Seasonal operations: Operating seasons vary across Lithopolis area RV campgrounds. Hocking River RV Park operates from April through October, while other facilities like Tomorrow's Stars RV Resort remain open year-round.

Site spacing considerations: Many campgrounds feature sites in close proximity. "The sites are very close together- one family moved in late at night practically on top of me- their tent was literally 4 feet from my picnic table. I could hear every word they said (or yelled) all night long," cautions one Hocking River RV Park visitor.

    Tips for camping with families

Check pool status: Some campgrounds advertise pools that may not be operational. "I was upset the pool was not open since there was no post about it being closed and the website says it would be open the weekend of Memorial Day," notes a visitor to Jackson Lake Park.

Evaluate amenities for kids: When traveling with children, select campgrounds with appropriate activities. "If you're taking kids there is nothing at the campground to do. Fishing is ok but the banks of the river are high," warns Joseph E. about Hocking River RV Park.

Consider cabin options: For families seeking alternatives to tent or RV camping, some facilities offer cabin rentals. At Jackson Lake Park, basic cabins include "a queen bed and 2 twin bunk-beds, a very small bathroom with a toilet and shower, and a small kitchenette with a microwave, sink, and mini-fridge."

    Tips from RVers

Site access challenges: Some RV sites require maneuvering skills. "Pull through spots require a little bit of maneuvering with big rig (43' fifth wheel). There was some mud where camper wheels were situated in the spot (needs material)," reports Tamara W. about Lakeview RV Park.

Check site utilities: Water hookup locations vary between campgrounds. At Jackson Lake Park, "the water hook ups were accessible through a hole/pipe and we had to 'fish' down to connect our hose."

Fire ring placement: At some campgrounds, fire rings aren't adjacent to RV sites. "Fire rings are not near RV but behind across the road on the river," notes a visitor to Hocking River RV Park, potentially complicating evening campfires.
