Berkshire Campgrounds

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Reservations are available at Berkshire Campgrounds in Galena, Ohio, and given the mix of transient campers and long-term seasonal residents on site, booking ahead makes practical sense. Full hookups include electric, water, and sewer connections, with reviewers noting solid water pressure and standard electric output. Gravel pads are the norm, though at least one camper flagged a site that ran slightly off-level. Guests must register at the office before entering, a policy the staff enforces consistently.

The campground covers a large footprint with a mix of forested and open terrain. A fishing pond sits near the center of the property, and groomed walking trails wind through the wooded sections. Dogs are welcome off-leash on the trails, a feature multiple reviewers specifically called out as a draw. On-site facilities include a pool, mini golf, volleyball, basketball courts, a camp store, and a restaurant. That range of amenities draws families and pet owners in particular, and the seasonal resident population means morning foot and vehicle traffic can be noticeable.

"A good, clean, well maintained campground," notes David M., and cleanliness comes up across multiple reviews as a consistent positive. Staff receive frequent praise for friendliness and attentiveness. The campground operates year-round, which makes it a workable option for campers passing through central Ohio outside of peak season. Pricing listed on third-party sites may not reflect current rates; one reviewer paid over $50 per night for full hookups, so confirming directly with the campground is worth the call. Those looking at camping near Galena will find Berkshire well-suited to RV travelers and families who want structured amenities alongside outdoor access.

Incorrect pricing

The price advertised on The Dyrt is incorrect. It is not $38.50/day. We paid $50.29 with full hook ups. Very clean, staff very nice, but guests are not allowed without registering at the office. Many seasonal/full time residents which made for quite a bit of early morning traffic. Beautiful fishing pond with well groomed trails. Dogs are allowed off leash on the trails. Staff very pet friendly and courteous. Well appointed camp store. Water pressure excellent. Electric well within standard. Gravel pads, our site was off 2”.

Great Campground for the value

This campground has it all. Full hookups and great activities for all. There is a small lake that you can walk around. They also have a path through the woods where you can let the dogs run if you choose to. The staff is very friendly and the small store has many of your needs met.

Awesome for pet owners!

This place is huge, tons of paths for walking and exploring. Also features mini golf, volleyball, basketball, an in-ground pool and a pond. Our favorite part was the off leash dog trails that were a perfect place to let the pup run. We have struggled at some parks where the pet areas are very restrictive. Will be back next summer!
