Great Stay for 2 nights

Got a partial hookup site #38. We liked it here. Restrooms and showers were kept clean by city workers. The dump station was fine. Be careful of the water pump at the dump station. The water pressure was high so be sure to use a pressure regulator if rinsing your tanks.

A bit changed from pre-Covid

Pastimes Park was a favorite place to take my family in Central Ohio. Quaint town, quiet location, friendly campers, even if the lots are narrow. The reasonable costs were a bonus. This past June we went there again, expecting the same great experience, but were disappointed. The park costs had risen, but the major change was the presence of monthly campers. When we set up camp, the permanent resident guy next to us became territorial over camp lot lines and finally went off on us at 11 pm at night. Needless to say, we cancelled the rest of our 5 day camp stay and went elsewhere. We won't be back, sadly.

Solid stay

Good campground. Not great. No pool or activities. Only 3 full hook up sites. Sites are really close together as well

Very skinny sites

The sites are very skinny and you are packed really tight together. You can’t even put your awning all the way out without hitting the camper next to you.

Quiet and Convenient

There are 38 grass sites that are a bit snug, but mostly pleasant. New in June 2019 are 18 gravel padded sites, with lots of space. All sites are W/E. All the new gravel sites and half the grass ones have 50/30/20A electric, the rest are 30/20A. The park has a dump station. Two of the gravel sites have sewer hookup.
All sites are clean, with tables and fire rings. There is a very nice and clean restroom/shower facility. Walking path and playground are adjacent to the campground. There is a nice swimming pool at the south end of the village park. Campers get a discounted admission. Most all sites have lots of shade.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make reservations at Pastime Park Campground?

To make reservations at Pastime Park Campground, you'll need to contact the campground directly. The reservation process is managed by the city of Plain City, as this is a city-operated campground. For the most current reservation information, including availability and fees, call the park office or visit the Plain City municipal website. Be sure to inquire about specific site preferences, as the park offers different types of sites including grassy areas and newer gravel-padded spots with varying hookup options.

What amenities are available at Pastime Park Campground in Plain City, Ohio?

Pastime Park Campground features a mix of camping sites with varying amenities. The campground offers water and electric hookups at all sites, with both 30/20A and 50/30/20A electric options available. Clean restrooms and shower facilities are maintained by city workers. The park includes a dump station for RV waste disposal. While the campground provides basic necessities, it doesn't have a swimming pool or extensive recreational facilities. The water pressure can be high at certain points, so campers with RVs should consider using a pressure regulator, particularly at the dump station.

What do reviews say about Pastime Park Campground?

Pastime Park Campground receives mixed feedback. The campground is appreciated for its quiet location and friendly camping community. Many campers note the park's affordability and its convenient location in Central Ohio. However, a common concern is the narrow site spacing, with many mentioning that campers are packed tightly together—some sites are so close that awnings can't fully extend without hitting neighboring RVs. The campground has a mix of older grass sites that are somewhat snug and newer gravel sites that offer more space. Some visitors mention that while the park is good, it lacks amenities like a pool or organized activities.

What recreational activities are available at Pastime Park?

Pastime Park offers limited recreational activities. Unlike some campgrounds, it does not have a swimming pool or organized activities program. The park's main appeal lies in its quiet setting in Plain City, making it a base for relaxation rather than a recreation-focused destination. Visitors looking for activities will need to explore the surrounding area or bring their own entertainment. The campground's simple setup makes it better suited for campers who prefer a more laid-back camping experience or plan to use it as a home base while exploring attractions in the Central Ohio region.

Are there RV hookups available at Pastime Park in Plain City?

Yes, Pastime Park offers RV hookups, though with some limitations. The campground has 38 grass sites and 18 gravel-padded sites, all with water and electric hookups. The gravel sites and about half of the grass sites provide 50/30/20A electric service, while the remaining sites offer 30/20A connections. Only 3 sites in the entire campground have full hookups with sewer connections. For RVs without full hookups, the park provides a dump station. RV owners should be aware of the high water pressure at the dump station and consider using a pressure regulator when rinsing tanks.
