The name of this place is ___Bear With Us___ cabin, a newly-remodeled, cozy and unique retreat. The beauty is in the details ___from the warm, exposed wood and plenty of sunny spaces to modern luxuries like a hot shower and chef's kitchen. Nestled on four acres of private forest, ___Bear With Us___ cabin features a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains, as well as the streams and diverse flora and fauna. And you are still mere minutes away from 21st-century conveniences, like Walmart, Harrah's Cherokee casino and local artisans' shops.

In the cabin, you will find all stainless steel appliances, flat screen TV, Blu-ray/DVD player. (The TV can only be used for playing DVDs). The log house features two bedrooms and a shared bathroom with a tub. Every room has wooden walls and hardwood floors. In the kitchent there is a full-size refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster oven, electric oven, stove, microwave, crock pot, deep fryer, and lots of useful cooking utensils. The cabin perfectly accommodates small, family gatherings or romantic getaways. Disconnect yourself from the hectic world and savour the tranquillity of nature.

There is window AC in the living room and also Window AC in each of the bedrooms. 

Fire up the grill on the huge front porch as you look out over the splendid sylvan vistas. Spend a relaxing evening dining or sipping wine in front of the fireplace.

Lovers of the great outdoors can spend their vacation hiking and exploring the cliffs, trails and surrounding wildlife. Go whitewater rafting, or fishing along the old logging roads by the house. When you return, the comforts of home will be waiting for you.

Just as you pass through downtown Sylva, on your right you will come to the market, where you can purchase freshly-laid eggs, as well as all kinds of fruits and vegetables and jams and jellies. For fine dining, try Ruth Chris Steak House at Harrah's, the buffet at the casino, or a number of other good restaurants.

Gem City RV Resort 

- RV's, Hook Up, Tent Camping and Camper - 

Small private custom designed campground off Hwy 28N, and Rose Creek Rd.  Something for all types of campers.  Single sites for solo or couple camping/hikers, with larger sites for families or shared group with 2 or more tents.  

Gravel pads for RV's (up to 37 - 38 feet, pop-up, trailers, campers.  Each with electric box for 30 or 50 amps, water hook-up.  Can park one vehicle each pad, shared designated area for  parking overflow or tent camping.  

We have one Vintage Airstream Camper set up for those who want to camp but also just get up and go. Camper has tub/shower, toilet, fridge, sink, microwave, small led tv - very comfy. One look is all it takes to be hooked. Camper has own firepit, picnic table, pond full of yellow trout out your door! 

Cold clear water runs down thru grounds from several spring heads.  Few extra holes for wading and fish.  Owner has planted rows n rows of veggies thru out. 

For the primitive campers, hike along the creek or up mountain for beautiful, more private, close to nature itself to choose from.  No power or runnning water but access to water hose, firepit at each site. Outhouse is in a general area to be shared.  

The Little Tennessee River flows in front of grounds.  Fish, swim, canoe or paddle.  Just have fun, relax, and be happy.  Happy Camping!

River Dog Campground 

We are a small family owned and operated campground featuring two very large and private campsites on just over an acre of land. We are located right outside of Cherokee, NC and a short 10 minute drive to Bryson City, Sylva, the Blue Ridge Parkway and the North Carolina entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. 

When making a booking request through thedyrt.com, please email us as well at: michaelg012977@gmail.com to let us know which campsite you would like based on the following:

Site# 1 is our Creekside Campsite. It's a walk-in Tents only site which has a 16'x16' tent pad, a picnic table, fire ring and a brand new park style charcoal grill. The Creekside area is only about 75 feet from where you'll park your car and the shared portable toilet. This site gets lots of Sun in the front part of the meadow and lots of shade from very mature maple and black walnut trees towards the back end where the tent pad is located. 

Site# 2 is our Hilltop Campsite. It is considered a Dry Camping/ No Hookups site. This site has a large flat grassy area with trees all around the perimeter providing some shade at different times of the day. It also has a picnic table, a brick fire pit and a brand new park style charcoal grill. The Hilltop site is available for tent campers as well as those traveling with smaller sized RVs. Perfect for camper vans, truck campers, smaller sized Class B and C's as well as travel trailers up to 20' in length.

\*\* We can not accommodate any large class A or 5th wheels due to the steepness and curvature of the road. Four wheel drive or AWD is recommended to reach the hilltop site. Two wheel drive vehicles can make it just fine when the ground is dry however the Great Smoky Mountains area is considered a temperate rain forest and it can snow in early Spring and Winter. 

To reach Site#2 cross the bridge over the creek and follow the road until you get to the top of the hill. When you've reached the level lot this is your camping area. You will have plenty of room to turn your rig around without having to back up. For this reason we have it listed as a pull through site. 

AGAIN No class A or 5th wheels are allowed. 

Directly across the highway from our property is a Dollar General and a Beer and Wine store. There is also a gas station close by on the same side of the highway that you could walk to. Behind the property is several acres of natural forest and on the other side beyond the trees is pasture land.

\*Please note, Our property is easily and conveniently accessed directly from US Highway 441 which is the main road to and from Cherokee and the National Park. The sounds of cars can be heard passing by at times. Please check out our reviews and photos here on this listing, on Google and on Instagram as most people are not bothered by it.
