We stayed at this RV park from Friday to Sunday after Thanksgiving (they were closed Thanksgiving). It’s a nice RV park, not really a campground. The bathrooms and showers are nice and clean. The pet corral was enjoyed by my dog. The staff is very nice and helpful. The pool was closed for off season and there is a Rec Bldg which we didn’t try out but has laundry facilities inside of it. The sites are gravel and neatly done with a off set graveled area with a picnic table. Fire cauldrons are complimentary with a bundle of wood purchase. (It’s quite a bit of wood). Luckily for us we were off that day. The only issue I have is that if you are not there by 5pm, they will not park you so don’t plan to arrive after work on a Friday and hope to spend the long weekend. It makes it difficult if you don’t have Friday off or have to arrive later than 5. Needless to say, we enjoyed the peace and quiet and clean air here and will visit again. It is located off the main highway, however, the road noise is really not an issue at all. It’s a great Basecamp to visit all the outdoor things in the area or just drive up to the Smokies.
Not the best place we’ve stayed…not the worst either. Pros: staff and owners are awesome, grounds are clean and well-maintained. Sites are fine (gravel, level, full hookups, spacious, fire ring/firewood on request, picnic table). Cons: road noise from highway is constant (video attached) and location (a tow vehicle is a must).
The first review by ‘Polly’ is the owner lol but still, overall a nice campsite. It is overpriced IMO but if you use the amenities maybe not so bad. We stayed in site 6 - supposedly a premium site with shade, but there was plenty of major road noise from our site. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Overall just comes down to what you’re looking for.
We are new to the RV life style. We traveled to Franklin N.C. A couple weeks ago and stayed at Grear Outdoors RV Resort. We were greeted by gracious hosts who were also the owners. Polly was great explaining the rules and amenities to us. Mike arrived and escorted us to our site and helped us me park. The park was very well organized and maintained as Mike continues to work throughout our entire visit. Questions and concerns were answered immediately. This was our first visit but not our last. 5 Stars!!
we stayed during spring break . no fire rings but they will bring a fir pit to your site. pool was still closed due to it still being chilly. sites were really close. they do have a small store. cabins and full hook up sites are available. new owners said a dog park was in the plans in the future. grounds were well kept a dog bath and clean bathrooms and showers. good base for day trips to water falls, Cherokee, or Maggie Valley
Perfect place to relax or adventure out in any direction to enjoy this breath taking area!
