Fish Creek Campground — Glacier National Park

    Great sites, good location

Fish Creek campground within Glacier National Park is a great place to stay on the west side of the park. It’s within a short walk to beautiful Lake McDonald. There are no electrical or water hookups available, but there is a dump station on the way out. The bathrooms have clean flush toilets and sinks, but no soap provided. Loop A showers have great water pressure and hot water. There are plenty of water spigots throughout the campground. There are several bear proof food storage sites as well. The Fish Creek amphitheater hosts fantastic ranger talks almost every night during the summer. Most if not all of the sites in loop A are pull through, but they can be very tight for a mid size travel trailer. During our stay sit was quiet and peaceful even though every site was full. Excellent National Park campground!

    Sundance Campground & RV Park

    Lots to be desired

I reserved a site at Sundance when I couldn't find any other campgrounds close to Glacier National Park that had availability for our 40 ft Super C. It was reasonable in price compared to others, but...

    First the pros:

    1. We had a pull through site.
    2. Plenty of space for our towed Jeep to park.
    3. Beautiful trees and wild huckleberry bushes provided a peaceful setting and some privacy.
    4. It is minutes from the West Glacier entrance.

    Cons:

    1. No sewer at the sites. There is a dump station you can use on the way out.
    2. The sites are level, but just barely.
    3. Instead of a sturdy dumpster or bear-proof receptacles, there are old fashioned galvanized cans with unattached lids. All of them were completely full the three days we were there.
    4. The dog run is unkempt and has no doggie bags or even a garbage can for waste.
    5. Although the trees are nice, they are so close to the parking area that we were unable to extend our awning.
    6. The laundry room has 2 washers and 2 dryers, but only one of each works.
    7. The whole place is terribly unkempt. "Rustic" is being generous. "Junky and trashy" is more accurate.

It is too bad that the owner, who was very nice but obviously trying to run this place all by himself, appears to have given up trying to make a nice place. There are junk cars and RVs surrounding the campground and I don't think a weed whacker has been used for years.

I would have been okay with paying $50 a night for this place, not $90.

    Whitefish RV Park

    Great location with AWESOME rates

Stayed here as part of a 12 day vacation. Nice small rv park just behind a hotel which muffled the street noise a bit. I'd say 40% ish of the park is long term residents, but they were all friendly and stoped by to talk and talk about our rig. The couple who run it are incredibly nice. We were about 75 yards from the showers/bathroom which was nice. This was the first time for us to stay in an RV site with the roof top tent which we took advantage of with an electric heater and blanket for the nights. It was needed because it was high 30's in the mornings. The Glacier Nation Park gate was about 25 miles away. There were a ton of great restaurants and shops near by. I'd highly recommend stopping by the Army Navy Surplus store next to the rv park! I could see if your towing a fifth wheel or have a long setup this location could be a tight squeeze. Ohhhh yeah there is this town siren that goes off every night at 10p sharp...there is a reason behind this with some history, pretty cool...I'll let you look into that!!

    Glacier Campground

Laid Back Wooded Park Very Close to Glacier

Lots of amenities, friendly staff, good cell service, and very close to Glacier NP. Only reason not 5 stars is the roads are a bit tight getting into sites. Not big rig friendly.

West Glacier RV & Cabin Resort

    West Glacier RV Park

This park is all about location and you pay a premium for that. FHU pull through sites, pretty good wifi and no OTA TV or cable for the times not in GNP. All facilities are clean and functional. Site layout is fair with the power pedestal way forward so it's either park your tow vehicle behind your trailer or have a lot of length for all your connections. Camp side is facing west so it's pretty hot in the afternoon sun.

    Rocky Mountain Hi Campground

    Shade, swimming, park & laundry

We used today as a catch up day. We’re on the road for over a month and this was an unscheduled day. We happened upon Rocky Mtn Hi and the kids and I love it. The kids could play all day in the great park with a whole western town set up and swimming hole in the creek, volleyball net amd paved roads to scooter and roller blade. I did laundry in their huge laundry facility. Super clean showers in the bathhouse and very friendly staff. We have site 5 in the trees for great shade and proximity to all the things. I met a few long term residents and others just passing thru - everyone has been super friendly.

    Lake Five Resort

    Fabulous Gem if a Resort

We stayed three nights in our new van . The caretakers are a fabulous 4 generation management team . It is a family friendly resort. Lots of water activities. It is 10 minutes from the West entrance to Glacier National Park .Highly recommend as home base to explore the park and not deal with the crowds inside .

    Rocky Mountain Hi Campground

    Nice FHU Site in Kalispell

After boondocking for a long while we wanted a FHU site to enjoy the A/C and flush the tanks. This park is out of town and offers nice amenities. Good Verizon cell signal and close to all the area attractions; Kalispell, Whitefish, Columbia Falls, & Glacier NP. We were assigned a pull through (07) that offered decent space between sites and had lots of shade trees.
