Day trips into Glacier National Park draw most visitors to Columbia Falls RV Park, and the campground's location roughly 15-20 minutes from the park entrance makes it a functional staging point for those trips. Sites are laid out on gravel with grass areas and picnic tables, and mountain views are visible from the property. The surrounding terrain is flat and open enough that sightlines toward the ranges hold up across most of the park.
Crowding is the most consistent theme across reviews. Sites sit close together, and campers with slide-outs will notice how little buffer exists between rigs. Jeffrey S. notes that his 36-foot fifth wheel "barely fit in spot front to back," suggesting that the advertised 90-foot maximum may reflect best-case conditions. Reviewers who prefer back sites report a bit more separation from the main traffic flow. Train noise along Highway 2 is audible from the property and is worth factoring in for light sleepers.
Cleanliness gets more attention in reviews than almost any other topic. Kimberly W. describes the bathrooms as "very clean, nice tile and spacious," with two stalls and three showers including a handicap-accessible unit. Laundry costs $2 to wash and $2.50 to dry per load. WiFi quality has drawn mixed comments, with at least one recent reviewer finding it unusable during a summer stay. Cell service appears adequate for most carriers based on available reviews.
The park operates year-round and accepts reservations, which matters in summer when the Glacier corridor fills quickly. Full hookups including electric, water, and sewer are available for rigs up to 90 feet. Columbia Falls itself has walkable dining and a butcher shop within a short distance of the park. Campers wanting a less developed experience in the area can look at Teakettle River Access or Camp Milo as alternatives with different trade-offs.
