West Glacier RV & Cabin Resort

Hiking into Glacier National Park starts just steps from this property. West Glacier RV & Cabin Resort sits directly off Going-to-the-Sun Road on the west side of the park, making it a practical staging point for day trips into the interior. A walking path connects the campground to West Glacier Village, so resupply runs or a meal out don't require moving the rig.

The campground opened in 2019, and that relative newness shows in the infrastructure. Pull-through sites with full hookups accommodate rigs up to at least 32 feet with room to spare, though the power pedestals are positioned far forward, which can require parking a tow vehicle behind the trailer or having enough total length to reach all connections. Sites are grassy and graveled with paved roads throughout, but there's minimal shade. The camp faces west, so afternoon sun hits the sites directly. Shana D. notes the layout "is definitely geared more towards larger motor homes than tent style camping as the sites are really close together." Two fenced dog parks add a practical amenity for pet owners.

Cleanliness comes up consistently across reviews. The bathhouse and shower facilities draw repeated praise, and Michael G. points to staff who are "very knowledgeable about Glacier National Park for hot spots to go see." A nightly group campfire at 7 p.m. gives campers a low-key way to compare notes on the day's routes. Fresh cinnamon buns are available each morning from the camp store.

Rates run on the higher end for the region, a trade-off reviewers consistently tie to the proximity to the park entrance. Nearby alternatives worth considering include Glacier View Golf RV Park and Glacier Campground, both within roughly a mile. For a broader look at camping near West Glacier, options range across the valley. Reservations are recommended, especially for summer visits when Glacier National Park entry requires timed permits.

Nice RV Park and cabins 1 mile from NP entrance

Right off the Going to the Sun Road which leads into the NP. Arrival was straight forward. Friendly staff. Had a pull trough site that was plenty big for our 32" TT. Utilities were well placed and worked well. Lots of well placed, bear proof trash cans. Laundry room was clean but a bit on the expensive side. Good walking distance into town on the path from the park. We camped at West Glacier RV Park and Cabins in a Travel Trailer.

Enjoyed the campsite

The campsite was all we expected and even more. The staff was very friendly and curious all the time. They are very knowledgeable about Glacier National Park for hot spots to go see. The bathrooms are very clean and well maintained. The cinnamon buns are very good and made fresh every morning. The light a group campfire at 7 PM every night for great conversations about what folks saw each day. I highly recommend this place for great camping.

Nice Campground!

Very nice campground with easy access to Glacier. Be wary of electric hookup, we were all set up and couldn't close out hatches due to large solar top on electric pole. Also, local gas is very expensive..head towards Kalispan a few miles from West Glacier and save over $2 a gallon.

West Glacier RV Park

This park is all about location and you pay a premium for that. FHU pull through sites, pretty good wifi and no OTA TV or cable for the times not in GNP. All facilities are clean and functional. Site layout is fair with the power pedestal way forward so it's either park your tow vehicle behind your trailer or have a lot of length for all your connections. Camp side is facing west so it's pretty hot in the afternoon sun.

Bright and shiny. Only 2 yrs old.

There is a lot to like about this park. The price, for us, was not one of them. It is only 2 year old park and it shows, in a good way. Beautiful views of the mountains from most every site. Bathhouse is super clean. Great laundry facilities. You are JUST outside the park with easy access to the park.. No getting caught in the endless road construction on Hwy 2. (2021). Golf course nearby. Easy to watch sunrise and sunset from Lake McDonald at Apgar Village without driving a long way. Like many of the other parks in the area, there are trains.

Great location to Glacier National Park!

This is a nice, new RV and Cabin park built in 2019. The sites are fully equipped. This RV park is definitely geared more towards larger motor homes than tent style camping as the sites are really close together. Each site has a picnic table and a small amount of grass. No shade trees. Onsite, there is a small camp store, bath house, playground, laundry facility, ice for sale, etc... The location to the park can't be beat. The small sites are worth it for a few days to be able to stay so close to the park.
