Beautiful campground, very accommodating

Owners were very accommodating, we snuck in on their closing weekend to visit glacier national park. The showers were clean and hot, owners were courteous and so nice. And the view of the sunset from the lakeshore is amazing!

This is what camping is supposed to be like

Stayed here to see GNP, and would 100% live here fall year if I could. Not a corporate parking lot with pools and bars like a KOA, but a classic lake resort going back to a 100 years. Owners were the nicest camp hosts I have ever met and called me by name every time I spoke to them. The lake is cold and gin clear, just like you e over from a mountain lake. Only small complaint is that some of the sewer inlet locations are a bit wonky, but that’s what you expect from a 100 year old campground that is slowly upgraded through generations. Bring extra sewer hose, 90 degree elbows, and a sewer grommet or “donut” to help with connecting. They even offered me these things in the office if I hadn’t already had them.

Lake Five gets a high five!

Lake Five gets a high five! It’s a beautiful campground with RV and tent sites tucked in a lodge pole forest that sits on a clear mountain lake. This is a family oriented park with dirt and grassy sites that offer plenty of shade. Owners Dan and Lindsey happily accommodate and create a relaxing environment. You can rent their kayaks and paddle boards or bring your own. They have ice and firewood available other than that stock up on supplies. The nearest regular grocery is 35 minutes away in Whitefish. Be aware you’re practically off the grid here. Put away the phones and simply enjoy the outdoors.

Obviously a trip to West Glacier is a must. Initiated last year, all cars driving into the park require a permit. Be sure you purchase it online long before you get there - they sell out. Otherwise, you can walk or ride bikes the two miles into the park then take a shuttle.

Awesome hidden gem

We loved our stay there. Very quiet campground. Almost seems hidden from everyone else. We couldn’t get in anywhere else and almost gave up when we found this place. The lake is amazing and the campsites are pretty spacious and for the most part, private. We would recommend anyone to stay there. Very close to the park as well!

Lakefront and close to Glacier

Such a sweet family owned place. The management team is very nice and accommodating. As with most of the parks in this area, it is well established. There are 3 levels of pricing. Hookups on the lake. Hookups in the tree covered area not on the lake and no services. w/e only. No sewer.. The camp store is kinda quirky. They have cabins, rooms, nice showers and laundry. Lots of water activities and a boat launch at the park. Cell is limited an wifi was not the best. It was fine at the office/camp store.

Fabulous Gem if a Resort

We stayed three nights in our new van . The caretakers are a fabulous 4 generation management team . It is a family friendly resort. Lots of water activities. It is 10 minutes from the West entrance to Glacier National Park .Highly recommend as home base to explore the park and not deal with the crowds inside .

Aggravated

We was planning to stay there last week on our trip across Midwest. We called to ask some questions on bears etc cause we are tent camping . When we call the gentleman said that they are still remodeling their shower houses and to my surprise!!! I just booked this 2 weeks ago and would have not if knew there was no showers! So I’m like we need showers we are camping for 3 days. He offered to upgrade us to cabins but at OUR EXPENSE... really!!!! I’m not the one who screwed up not telling someone.. so I canceled my order and their policy is a 60 days notice.. again I did this 2 weeks ago and again he did not tell me about the repairs going on .. so he charged me $50.50 handling fee for canceling so I’m very very disappointed and would never recommend or ever go there myself... I’m a business owner and rules are good but common sense is better if it’s my fault you make it “Right”!!!

Hidden gem of Montana

We dropped the ball on our camping trip out west to glacier, did not reserve a camping spot and found this magical place via Dyrt. Upon arrival, we were offered two different camp sites - one in tent only camping with everyone else on the property and one secluded spot behind a small stage. The price per evening to camp is a little more than the parks, but you're given access to the grounds (on a beautiful lake) for your stay. The showers are clean as are the bathrooms. The property is family owned for generations and well kept. We were, at first, sad not to be able to camp at glacier - but on our next trip to Montana, we will reserve a spot at lake 5 without question. Located about 15 minutes from the park and the closest town, this place is a don't miss gem of the west.

Great Family Campground

We stayed here for about 4 weeks in Summer 2018. Great family camp right on the lake. Fairly isolated so not very crowded or touristy compared to other campgrounds in the area. Owner and employees are very friendly. Close to Glacier NP, so a good base camp to explore the area. Really enjoyed our time here.

Enjoy Glacier National Park or just relax at the lake

We stayed in a cabin at Lake Five 28 years ago so when planning this trip, we decided to stay again particularly since it put us as close to the campground in Glacier NP that we hoped to snag a site at. The cabins are essentially the same but now there are electric hookups for the RVs and a live entertainment stage (we were there on a Monday so did not see any entertainment). The other thing that is different is that there are fewer mosquitoes (I remember they used to be vicious) due to bats (although I did not see any). Located right on a lake just a few miles from the west entrance to the park, there are accommodations to fit everyone’s needs. Cabins, some with bathrooms, some with kitchens, RV sites, and tipis. In my opinion, Cabins 1 and 2 are the best with full lake views but these are larger cabins and better suited for families. We stayed in Cabin 8 this time, with a bathroom but no kitchen. We had a picnic table and fire ring so enjoyed our dinner outside. The cabins are rustic (think summer camp) but clean. They have very limited outlets! One in the main room, used for the fridge and fan, and one in the bathroom, so don’t plan on charging your devices after being in the woods camping! Make sure you bring towels– while there are sheets on the bed, there are no bath towels. Cabins are a bit pricey but that is to be expected in a prime location. The RV sites are close together; the sites on the outside of the loop are more private with trees behind them. Sites 1-8 have NO privacy or separation between them and while lakefront, the view is filtered through the trees. Other amenities include a utility sink, showers (for campers only) and reasonably priced laundry, although with only one washer and dryer, there was a big back-up! This is a great place from which to explore Glacier National Park or just relax by the lake. Lots of families swimming and boating and hanging out. The office is open from 9am-9pm. Owner Ron has a dry sense of humor and is very welcoming, along with his two very large dogs. The resort is open spring through fall, with discounts in the spring and fall. Check is the preferred payment when making a reservation and you will receive a confirmation as soon as the check is received. Note if you are using Google Maps: if you are approaching from the west, Belton Stage Road is gravel (about 1.5 miles) but there is another paved entrance from the east.
