Cobb Ridge Campground is adjacent to the Chadwick Riding area, which is popular among and off-road vehicles (dirt bikes; ATVs and side by sides 50 inches or less) enthusiasts. Numerous trails provide nearly 80 miles of interconnecting loops that vary from easy to difficult terrain, winding in and out of deep, forested hollows and down long ridge tops. Family and group camping is available, providing access to Missouri's beautiful Mark Twain National Forest.
Visitors to the area mostly come for the plentiful off-road vehicle trails (motorcycle; ATVs and side by sides 50 inches or less). Some trail segments are very rocky, steep, rough, rutted and are technically challenging, while others that don't drain well have been built up with concrete. Hiking on the trails is also permissible but requires caution. If using the trails, you will need a Chadwick riding permit - they are available at our District office; Casey's General Store in Sparta, MO. Cost is $45 for an annual; $7/day for motorcycles, ATVs and side by sides. $3 for mountain bike. You will need make/model and VIN# of vehicle along with rider information. The permit is valid for the machine and cannot be transferred.
The Chadwick area is mostly forested with oak, hickory and pine woods on rocky ridge tops, with a few small open forest glades. Steep ridges break into narrow hollows with scattered surface rock and occasional rock ledges and patches of eastern red cedar.
The campground is 30 miles from Springfield, Branson, Silver Dollar City and Shepherd of the Hills attractions. Lake Taneycomo is 20 miles south of Cobb Ridge.

This is the third time staying here. This time wife and I took our small camper just to get away for the weekend. We stayed in campground one because it is the only one open during the off season. You can make reservations online before going to ensure you have the spot you want. Campground one is in a flat spot down by the water and it is actually rather open and built for large rigs to fit in. If it was full I imagine it would be crowded and not much privacy but because we went in the winter there was only four other campsites taken. We were surprised when we found that there was Wi-Fi available for free at the campground. One negative is we only found one toilet for the entire campground. It wasn't a problem at this time because there was hardly anybody there, but I imagine if you wanted to use the toilet during the regular season you would find yourself with a line or going somewhere else.

This was the last stop of a 5 week outing for me, and I booked a single night the day before arrival, looking for a full hookup place to dump my tanks and winterize on my way home to northern IL, where the temps were below freezing. The staff was super friendly, and accommodating and when I arrived at around 7pm they were available to show me to my spot, and offered to help me get set up. Showers/ restrooms/ laundry are all in one building, and very clean and well kept. The park is adjacent to a large field where my dog was able to run to her heart's content, which was very welcome after being in other campgrounds where I had to keep her on a leash at all times. This was really just an overnight for me for convenience, but if I ever want to hang around Springfield MO for a few days, I'd definitely stay here again.
Spaces are packed gravel, pretty level. As others have said, it's convenient to I40, just a few minutes away, and quiet at night.

We stayed here over Thanksgiving. The campground was about 1/3 full . The people working here are very nice! I think the campground would get a 5 if there were more pull-thru sites and the bath houses were a little more updated. We will definitely stay here again when in Branson.

RangerThis is a beautiful area with a lot of camping spots. Campground 1 is down by the water and really meant for the big rigs. Most of the other campgrounds (5 total) also have plenty of space to spread out. We saw plenty of 5th wheels up in the other campgrounds. Many had electric, though don't think many have water. Which is fine for a long weeked or something - just fill up the freshwater before heading out.
Of course if you like fishing this is a wonderful place. Not my thing, but I enjoyed people watching.

This beautiful campground in classic Ozark hardwoods is a haven for things with motors. Bikes, ATVs, gold carts, all manners of off-road thingies, and the louder the better. At the same time, it was clean, folks were respectful, and it was quiet after dark. Enough Verizon signal to get Facebook. Some sites have electricity.

ScoutThis location has been a great place. It is clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and the area is peaceful. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a campground in Branson Mo. It is also a short and scenic drive to what ever suites you in Branson.

No amenities other than composting toilets. There are a few tent sites along the road and there is plenty of grassy area near the creek for RVs/trailers. This is a horse camp with plenty of evidence, but it was only us and a couple of other tent campers.
The creek was obviously spring fed, crystal clear and had a gravelly bottom. There were plenty of places to get in the water...understanding that this is horse camp.
The place was well maintained and mowed and it was super peaceful and quiet. The main annoyance was some trash in fire pits along the creek.
If you consider this as a waypoint, two things:
1. There is about a mile of dusty, gravel road that is a little rough.
2. We had great T-Mobile 10 miles south, but it dropped to zero by the time we drove into camp.

Found this place on a whim through Missouri. Was looking for dispersed camping and not much popped up in the area. So campgrounds were next up.
This place already had a few good reviews, so I called them up. Immediately knew this was going to be the place. Super nice folks, clear communication, and even showed us the grounds upon arrival.
Lots of amenities for just staying a single night. Everything you need and want in a campground, but not a KOA or Yogi packed site.
Overall 5/5, cheap, friendly, abundance of things to do, and quiet (when I stayed).
P.S. Depending on which site you choose… the cost varies, but still cheap. There is lighting, power outlets, tables, fire rings and outdoor grill, along with many other fun child-friendly things.

Would stay here again if we ever return to the area.

My family and I come here every year the owners are great. Camp ground is quiet and family friendly.
ScoutWe thought we would change up from always going to Table Rock State Park. Boy were we wrong!!!!!! The RV lots are gravel/grass- no WIFI or cable. Most of the RV'ers are full timers, and they have the attitude that it's their park. And, if you encounter an incident with one of them- they all turn against your presents. Gray haired adolescence is what my wife calls them. Most sites have some tree cover but walnut trees will totally sap up your RV, not to mention the nuts when they fall. I would only recommend this place if your wallet is very tight. Table Rock Park is hands down better then this out dated and unfriendly rude group of full time campers.
GuideThe manager/owner went above and beyond. We called and said we would be there at around 6:30 (the office closed at 6) and arrived a little later than that. He was waiting for us.
We got a spot down by the river, started a fire, had dinner and went to sleep to the sound of the river running. The place is beautiful and I wish I had more time to spend there. I will definitely be going back when I can spend three of four nights.

Stayed here for 4 nights during a visit with family. Park is clean. Staff is friendly. They make fresh pizza at the convenience store/office and will deliver it to your site. We were there 3 weeks before the pool opens so we didn't get a chance to see that. Nice park that's close to 1-44, James River Parkway, and unfortunately a railroad crossing. So you will hear a train horn on occasion, but no highway noise. We will come back here and stay again.

Ok place to camp, pretty secluded, old campground but most spots no longer seemed camp friendly, as new tree growth has taken over. Seems to be a guy living in a rv at the end of the road which is really close to the one camping friendly spot, kinda kills the dispersed camping vibe.

We enjoy campgrounds 2 and 3. Spacious sites, nice campground store, trout fishing, beautiful area for hiking, river floating options in the area. Sure are always clean and you're sure to see a few deer! Most does do not have water so fill up before parking.
