This was a super pleasant stop! We enjoyed exploring the trails and seeing the wildlife right around our campground. We had great internet for working and were close to an amazing BBQ restaurant featured on Guy Fieri’s show! We liked this park and would definitely stay again!
One of south Mississippi's best kept secrets. This is a small campground located in the National Seashore within the city limits of Ocean Springs. The diverse ecosystem of the Bayou is fascinating and chances are very high you'll be able to see at least one large gator while you tour this park. (No worries, they're not near the campsites). The campground itself has 50 reservable sites, all with 30/50 amp electric and water. Fire rings and picnic tables are at each site also. Most are well shaded and far enough apart to be comfortable. Terrific bath house and convenient dump station. Ranger programs are offered through the visitors center which is a must see. The 20 minute video about the park's history and importance is well worth your time. Make sure to save time to tour the downtown area of Ocean Springs. It's one of the USA's top rated seaside communities.
Did not stay only rode through and walked around on scouting trip looking for a nice place to camp, just not what I was looking for.
Municipal campground next to a playground with what looked like one long time resident, bathrooms had chains and padlocks on the door due to vandalism (as per the sign).
Around a dozen tent pads with tables and BBQ pits and same amount of RV spots
Nice boat ramp across the street with Pearl River access.
Had pics but phone died, sorry
Friendly, kind and helpful owners offer a kid’s playground, swimming pool and large RV campsites. Full hookups at most sites. Tent camping accommodated as well.
Flint creek has TONS of sites with full hook ups in 30 and/or 50 amp and even a primitive (water only) tent sites. Different sections allow folks to feel like they are away from the crowds. Price is absolutely reasonable and there is night security by staff and local law enforcement.
The water park has a ton of slides and will keep kids young and old entertained sliding down the hill into the lake.
Several swimming holes and boat ramps lets you enjoy the lake however you want.
Flint Creek has a little of everything for everyone. There’s a large lake which is good fishing (there’s a boat launch in the park and in the campground itself) beach swimming areas (one for day use and the other for the campers) there’s an updated water park with slides and a lazy river. The water for this is pumped in from the lake so it’s not a fresh blue water like in a swimming pool! There’s a section of first come first served campsites and a section of reservation only sites. All the sites are blacktopped and are very nice. The bathhouses could use some attention though. The town of Wiggins has lots of restaurants and grocery stores very close by.
We pulled in not knowing what to expect. Being in a tent for a week they allowed us to set up wherever we wanted and accommodated us nicely. This campground is nothing fancy and mostly full timers, the bathhouses are well kept, except there is one shower for the entire campground (the women's was down) but we never ran into an issue with showering at the same time as anyone else so we didn't mind. You are directly next to The Shed BBQ, across from a gas store, within 10 minutes to a Wal-Mart and 15-20 minutes to Biloxi Beach. Connie and Lou were great and always on top of things when something needed to be done and the full timers here are so welcoming and help in any way they can. They made our family of 6 feel at home, we will definitely be back!
