    SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Central Michigan's landscape around Corunna features a variety of camping options within a 30-mile radius. Sleepy Hollow State Park Campground in Laingsburg stands as one of the more developed options, offering year-round access with electric hookups, showers, and both tent and RV sites. Nearby, Walnut Hills Family Campground in Durand provides family-oriented camping from May through October with amenities like a market and full hookup sites. Holiday Shores RV Park, also in Durand, caters to RV enthusiasts with cement pads and 50-amp electrical service. The region balances developed campgrounds with more rustic options, creating opportunities for different camping styles across state parks, county parks, and private facilities.

Reservations are essential during the peak season from Memorial Day through Labor Day, with many campgrounds reaching capacity on summer weekends. As one camper noted about Sleepy Hollow State Park, "The park is usually a clean family place, but they are serious about quiet time! Bug spray required!" Most campgrounds in the area have paved access roads suitable for standard vehicles, though some rustic sites may become challenging after heavy rainfall. Cell service varies significantly across the region, with better connectivity at developed campgrounds closer to towns. Michigan's Recreation Passport ($13 for residents) is required for entry to state parks and recreation areas, while county parks typically charge separate entrance or camping fees.

Water access represents a significant draw for campers in the Corunna area. Lakes and rivers provide opportunities for fishing, kayaking, and swimming at many campgrounds. A visitor to Holiday Shores RV Park mentioned, "The park has several ponds both large and small, which might make for good fishing, and there's a swim beach available after Memorial Day." Mosquitoes can be problematic in wooded and lakeside areas, particularly in early summer. Campsites vary in size and privacy, with some visitors noting proximity issues at more popular locations. Family-friendly amenities are common at the larger campgrounds, including playgrounds, boat rentals, and hiking trails. Weekend noise levels tend to increase at campgrounds closer to urban areas, while more remote locations offer quieter experiences.

      Groveland Oaks County Park

      Absolutely beautiful

My husband and I actually took our first camping trip in our new camper to this location, but we are novice when it comes to campgrounds. It was nice because there was always an attendant at the office to help. They gave clear and concise directions. The grounds were impeccable. Everything looked fantastic. We have even considered being seasonal here because it is so beautiful.

Pretty with trees, although you do have very open views if you like more growth... weekend activities... family park, you need to be able to walk a ways to enjoy all their games, activities and beach...

Lake Interstate State Game Area- Dispersed Camping

      Lake Interstate

Wasn’t really anywhere to park when it’s been raining all day so I parked on the side where the trail is but left enough room for whoever wants to go to the lake. My son was tired and cranky so I had to just park and set up the camper for my kids. Just a parking lot with a trial that leads to the lake. You can park anywhere there’s no sign saying you can’t park next to the trail so just thought I’d add that lol but it’s beautiful at night besides the traffic from the highway

      Camp Dearborn

      Beautiful!

We booked this spot and stayed for 4 nights. Large and spacious. Our spot backed up on a hill and the electric hookup was at the back of the spot as opposed to the side like most other campgrounds. You will either need a longer electrical cord or if you can back your RV up far enough to reach you will need something to put under your steps to make them touch the ground. By no means a negative thing, just make sure you are prepared!

      River Ridge Campground

🌲 River Ridge Family Campground 🌲

Woohoo! What a campground! I’m currently camping here attempting to stay long term. It’s a bit packed of long term-ers but there are a few openings. As far as the daily hookup sites/regular tent sites are absolutely darling. Plenty of space for whatever you need plus a vehicle! There’s a huge pond in the center of the campground with an inflatable slide that the kids absolutely love. The pond gets fairly deep which makes it perfect for all ages. Including the little beach front it has making it perfect for the lounging parents or the toddlers to play in puddles of water. I brought my own electric scooters to ride around site but the campground is walkable! The store up front has almost everything you’d need in an emergency or an “oops I forgot XYZ” situation. There is a small cafe as well on site which is awesome for a quick bite! Laundry on site has 2 washers and 2 dryers.. which I think is fair! The bathrooms/showers are clean and plentiful. Staff is fairly friendly as well. I do feel the employees need proper training based on the campground itself (like the price of propane or the ability to book sites without management assistance) which are all an easy fix for such an awesome place.

Most sites in this area sit at elevations between 750-850 feet above sea level, contributing to the region's mild summer temperatures that average 80°F in July and August. The area's glacial till soil drains relatively well, making most campgrounds usable even after moderate rainfall.

A camper mentioned, "We love the trails and the wildlife and the kids loved the parks," highlighting the recreation area's combination of natural exploration and family activities.

Seasonal events: Halloween activities are popular at local campgrounds. At Myers Lake Camping & Cabins, "Every year they put together an awesome Halloween trick or treat weekend, but be sure to book the day of six months before because otherwise you will not get a site."
