Small basic campground near a river

This is a small state park with two loops, one with and one without electric hookups. Sites have fire rings and picnic tables. There is a dump station available. Sites are level, in a loop around the bath house. There are also a few cabins available to rent. There's a small $1 surcharge for out of…

Nice place for a short stay

Grounds were clean. We had a nice shaded lot. Fishing pond was close and kids had a blast fishing. Pool was small but kids liked it. Community bath house left something to be desired.

Awesome family campground!!!

We stayed here for a week (Saturday to Saturday) and absolutely loved it! From the moment you pull up to the gate, to the moment we left the gate it was great! Once you pull up to the gate the staff checks you in and you get your paperwork, you pull ahead about 200 yards to meet another member of…

No Frills

Had a wonderful time and management was very professional. Campground was clean and has beautiful views. Is a basic no frills campground at its best. We love staying here. The peace tranquility and beauty are exactly what we needed. The only drawback we had was the fella who came to pump out our…

Tulip Loop, full hookups!

We took our 1st trip to Point Lookout the 1st week of June, glad we did. Tulip Loop has full hookups which was great, but the sites are basically in a swamp. I think we were there before the mosquitos. I'm sure with all the standing water they'd be everywhere!! We didn't have much cover from trees,…

Family oriented, but super close and not private

Initially disappointed by the tiny spot we got, but we were able to move. Majority of the spots are extremely close to the next and doesn't allow much privacy. Very few trees in between. We chose another spot that was available, however, we found out the first night that there is a boat area and…

Convienent Location

Location wise, it's great to see things in area.  Both Washington DC and many area's along the Chesapeake Bay, Annapolis, Chesapeake Beach, Solomon's Etc.  The sites are very close but adequate. Many staying at the campground are working in the area, but all seem to be great folks. Not a Bad stop,…

A good distraction

Nice, quiet, electric and water close. Before Covid cheap. Bathroom however is nasty and wouldn’t shower there.

Pretty and relatively private sites

Cedarville State Forest is located in Charles Co., MD. It's near Waldorf which offers amenities that you might need. The campground is one loop with 27 mostly spacious sites. Some of the sites were not well tended and had tall grasses while others seemed better groomed. Most were level but some…

Small and typically quiet

We camped here in early June on an unseasonably hot and humid weekend. Our site was the last site available when I made the reservation about 6 weeks prior. Site 9 is next to the bathhouse and across from the dumpsters. Neither was an issue. Sites are very well spaced out and there are only 15 in…

Good home base for exploring DC

We stayed on the big loop on site 48. Unfortunately there wasn’t anything on ReserveAmerica specifying the water situation, so when we arrived we found that we didn’t have water hook up. I’m attaching a photo of the color map I got at checkout which specifies which sites have water.

Bath house…

Hot Spring Trip

Very hot for an early spring trip. Not much shade in the sites here. The trail isn’t shaded either. Store & museum still closed, because of covid I guess. Staff very nice. Camp hosts are pretty much nonexistent as compared to other MD State Parks. I think we’re in a swamp. I assume mosquitos…

Shady, quiety, close

We stayed here for two nights at the end of April. All the sites are very shady, which certainly comes in handy in the Virginia heat. They are also very close together--our slide was almost touching our neighbor's slide. Everybody was super friendly and we felt very comfortable letting our kids go…
