Operated by Calvert County Parks, Breezy Point Beach sits along the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay in Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, running May 1 through October 31 with sites ranging from $60 to $70 per night. Drive-in access makes it straightforward to reach, and sites include electric and water hookups, making it a workable base for RV campers. No pets are allowed anywhere on the property.
The layout puts RV pads on sandy ground directly backing onto the bay, which creates direct water access but also some practical challenges. Stabilizer jacks can struggle to find firm footing in the loose sand, so bringing wood blocks or platforms is worth the effort. Sites sit close together, and reviewers note that noise from neighbors can be an issue when the campground fills up. Fire rings are available but not guaranteed at every site when capacity is high. The campground side of the beach is kept separate from the day-use area, giving campers more room along the water.
There is no on-site camp store, so arriving stocked up matters. Breezy Point Market is roughly a mile away for basics. The dump station is listed as an amenity, though multiple reviewers flagged that pump-out service has historically run only a couple of days per week, so departure timing is worth checking in advance. One reviewer noted finding 178 shark teeth along the shoreline, which gives a sense of what the beach itself has to offer beyond swimming. Campers wanting a different setup in the region can look into Matoaka Beach Cottages to the south, or browse campgrounds near Chesapeake Beach for additional options.
Description
Breezy Point Campground is closed for the 2023 season for both short-term and seasonal camping for the completion of an extensive shoreline restoration project on the camping beach area. This project will consist of erosion mitigation and beach revitalization.
At Breezy Point Beach, there’s fun for the whole family. Our beach is a popular destination for fossil hunting, swimming in the bay and fishing. Because of the popularity of the beautiful beach, especially during summer weekends and holidays, the park often fills to capacity. We highly recommend you visit our Facebook page or call ahead of time to ensure the capacity status of the beach: https://www.facebook.com/breezypointbeachpark/
