ScoutWe are repeat customers and come here with our troops. Nice mix of RV and tent campers. Quiet. Trails, creek, pool, fishing ponds (back end), batheooms, etc, great rates. No firewood- need to bring your own.
ScoutTerrible experience. Very, very noisy. So loud couldn't sleep. Just wanted to rest for a night. Was awakened by extremely rude staff when I just wanted to rest. All those bad reviews are true. Never had such a bad experience. As I was filling the fresh water for travel it overflowed and revealed the huge amount of septic black water which really smelled. Looked pretty but that revealed their true nature, turd with a ribbon on it. The staff was so rude and really had a mean demeanor, just as other reviews have stated. I will never stay there and though I usually only give good reviews, I felt compelled to warn others. This place has park nazis in golf carts that harass people. I saw it happen to others who cut their stay short. No wonder the park was almost empty.
TravelerNot a bad campground, probably better for RVs not a tent like us. None of the buildings (including the office and bathhouse) are accessible. Lots of overgrowth (we had to move the picnic table due to the amount of growth), and not every site has a fire ring.
GuideNice little primitive campground, good patrol is state park police. Good distance to a bunch of activities for family’s. Bike rentals, good ice cream shop etc.
ScoutStayed 3 nights in May with small 17 ft travel trailer. Beautiful, peaceful, immaculate campground- which now offers hot outdoor (enclosed) shower and hot water in the bathrooms. Everything looks new at campground.it looks meticulously kept. Bathrooms have very large, deep, generous stainless steel sinks with ample workspace.campground is dog friendly... Can access the river from campground - need to bring own water fun- kayaks/canoes not available to rent very wooded all around . Suggest a screen room - got buggy. We enjoyed our stay. GuideAll sites are basically waterfront, nice quiet campground with water access and a boat ramp, saying that be cautious of the water level because the week before we came the entire campground was under water making the sites smell of swamp and very muddy. The Western Maryland Rail Trail runs rite along the campground so if you like bike riding, take advantage. Most of the other campers were family’s with young children. Technically there was water available but it was questionable, only porta pottys available with the obvious odor that comes with it.
GuideFirst time here but will be back. Can't believe how much space is between each site. You're close enough to see other campers but far enough away to feel you have you own sections of woods. Site 262 in the Ironwood or I loop of the campground. These sites don't have any hook ups but are suitable for campers and small RVs as well as tents. Bathhouse is in the center of the loop.
A fair amount of gnats and other bugs but no mosquitoes to speak of.
Clean, well run camp store. Nice beach area with volley ball nets. Lots of paddle boards and canoes for rent.
The 5 mile hike around Lake Habeeb is enjoyable. Great way to see all sides of the park. Across the lake from the campground is a casino and resort.

GuideMy family and I stayed at this campground in late April. The staff was great. We had a site right on next to the trail going to Stangler Farm. AT&T cell reception at our site was hit or miss , but good in the rest of the campground. The camp store has everything that any camper could need, and the game room is really nice. The whole campground was clean and well kept. Ths campground is approximately a 3 minute drive from everything in the town of Gettysburg. The battefields are very close as well. Chubbys Pizza is about 5 minutes down the road and provides fast service as well as great food. We will definitely visit this campground again.
