Best RV Parks & Resorts near Cumberland Foreside, ME

This is an all adult RV park run by a very friendly veteran. They can accommodate tents to full hook ups. The prices are reasonable and the park is peaceful, covered with trees, and extremely quiet!!

This is a large campground right on the lake. Half of area is set up with RV hookups, so it nicely separates the tents from the RVs.

New rv park and resort. They have full hookups to 50 amp as well as primitive tent sites. They have tons of amenities and themed areas. Great place to stay the week or the season.

Consider the Thousand Trails membership when booking this site. Our annual membership fees basically covered what it would cost to camp here for two weeks.

The campground has good proximity to Orchard Beach and Portland. However, the spots are pretty tight, and the WiFi is awful away from the registration office. We were in the wooded area, but those camping on the outskirts seemed able to utilize their Starlink.

The dog park and pool were small but nice. The bathroom facilities were pretty good, though they weren't cleaned as often as they should be.

This campground is huge with over 300 sites set on nearly 200 acres and along a beautiful lake! It is in a great location between the Lakes Region and the White Mountains in New Hampshire with lots to do in and outside of the campground. There are two distinct and separate sections– the Danforth Bay Camping and RV Resort and The Bluffs RV Resort. 

They assigned us to a pull thru site (#A16) in the Danforth Bay section that would supposedly fit our 45’ motorhome. When we pulled in the place was packed. The people camped across from us had a huge group of people and a massive load of wood delivered that was in huge pile and it was obvious that fire was going to burn all day and through the weekend. The neighbors on one side of us had a table set up at the end of their site and were selling hand-made goods with their kids. We decided this was not really where we wanted to be for a peaceful fall weekend. Much less, our site was not very easy for us to get in and out of. The office agreed to move us to a site in The Bluffs section which they said were normally only for seasonal campers but they would make an exception since they were closing for the season in one week. They informed us the water would be turned off during our stay but that was fine with us since we have a large freshwater tank that we could fill up before. The site we were assigned to was all gravel with absolutely no grass which was fine with us because we were away from the ciaos of the other section. 

The park was very clean and well-cared for with no trash laying around. Campsites were tidy and people didn’t have lots of junk laying around. There are some transient sites in the Danforth Bay section that are nice and private and some are close to the lake. The campground is huge so you can get a nice walk in without having to go round and round. There is a lake which was great for our lab to swim in and made for a pretty spot to enjoy a glass of wine at sunset. There are tons of camping options at this park and loads of amenities like a camp store, multiple pools, a boat launch, game room, multiple pavilions, free weekend entertainment, hay rides, lots of restrooms, dog parks and lots more. Since we were there in the end of the season, many amenities were closed and the activities had wrapped up for the season.

I was on a long road trip and only stayed a few days mainly to see the nearby Maine hotspots - Kennebunkport and Portland. The campground is not fancy, but clean and well maintained. Many of the sites were used by long-term campers, which turns the campground into a nice little neighborhood - everyone I greeted waved or said hello. I travel solo, and felt very safe.

We mainly stayed here because we've stayed at another Sun RV Resorts in OR and really enjoyed it. Our site was nice and backed to a wooded area. The campground was within walking distance to the beach(about a mile) and not far from the Eastern Trail, which was great for hiking and biking. Unfortunately, the wifi was pretty terrible. We paid extra for what was supposed to be fast, streamable wifi, but at times that didn't work at all or was very slow. For the price we paid, the campground should have fast(or at least usable) internet for free. There was even a repeater directly behind our site. We also had to pay extra for our dog, which we thought was odd. The laundry room was okay, but several machines were out of order and even first thing in the morning it didn't seem too clean. Verizon was 2 bars. If I was in the area again I'd probably stay somewhere else.

My wife and I just spend an overnight here.  The brewery is really cool, and the wood fired pizza is some of my favorite.  The folks who run this place are really friendly and accommodating. Both my wife an I really enjoyed ourselves.

This is definitely an RV park.  The sites are close together, with full hookups.  50, 30, and 20 Amp, water and sewer.  We had a pull through site which worked really well for newbies like my wife and I. They also appear to have a few cabins which look super cute. 

If there is a down side to the park it would be the road noise.  You are right off of Rt. 27, which is the main road into Boothbay Harbor.  The upside is you can easily ride the bike lane into town for some exploring without having to deal with tourist parking.  Especially in the summer time, parking is at a premium.

If you are looking for fun weekend with great beer and food, this is definitely worth the trip.

This is a nice place to visit. We had full hook ups. The sites are close together . We were camping with friends so this was bonus us. They provide a garbage can at each site. The laundry room was clean and and appears well maintained. They are close to the Railroad Museum so you can hear the train whistles during the day. We were close to the road so road noises were noticeable. The staff is very friendly. We visited on Indigenous Peoples weekend. The leaves were at their peak and the nights were crisp. We enjoyed our time very much.

Boothbay Harbor is a cute coastal Maine town and Shore Hills Campground is a great location for visiting the downtown and other Maine towns like Wiscasset and Easy Boothbay. Shore Hills has a wide variety of sites that can accommodate everything from the biggest size RV to tents. The great thing about this campground is that there is a such a large selection of sites that you pretty much can get what you want. 

Some of their 30-amp waterfront sites come with great views. They also have some sites tucked in the woods that are super wide with huge patios and lots of privacy between you and your neighbor and great for families or large gatherings. The 50-amp full hook-up sites towards the front of the park are closer together with not as much privacy and near the road so you get some of that noise. The last we time we stayed there we were in a long pull-thru in the front which was$59/night. Our site had a wooden deck with a picnic table on it. The deck was nice but I had to be careful where I parked so my steps cleared the porch. Each site has its own garbage can which I super convenient. Hook-ups at our site worked fine and were well-placed and easy to connect to. The wifi was a joke and we got frustrated and gave up. Not sure if it is any better in other areas of the park but it seems to be a common complaint that they tend not to fix. On the other hand, the cable had lots of channels and a great HD picture. The roads to our site were easy to navigate with our 45’ RV and tow car but the check-in area near the office is very small and tight and at times, it was very backed up and RV’s were out on the main road. During certain times of the year, the park offers a shuttle service to and from downtown which is nice because parking can be expensive(from$7-$20). There are free parking spots downtown but they are few and far between and limited to 2-4 hours. 

The park has a short trail across to an island which our dog loved to run around on and jump in the water. The tides are crazy in Maine so be careful if you use the boat launch that you don’t get stuck on a mud flat when the 9-11’ tide disappears. Nearby is the Ovens Mouth Preserve which has great hiking and nice water views and is just one of many nature preserves in the area which all are very nice, well-marked, well-maintained, and dog-friendly. 

You have to stop at Bet’s Fish Fry for the best fried fish and chips you have ever had. Bring a beer or two and enjoy eating your food on the picnic tables in the nearby park. Another good place to visit is the Boothbay Craft Brewery Company which has good beer and pizza. They also have a small RV park but the sites are pretty close together. Pinkhams Gourmet Market has a nice selection of prepared items, meats, seafood, and gourmet items but for fresh lobster we head down to the waterfront to Atlantic Edge Lobster.

We had an incredible stay at this lovely little family owned brewery and RV park. Plenty of privacy in between pull-in spots and the grounds are well maintained. Close to Boothbay Harbor and the Botanical Gardens are a must see! Bathrooms are at tap house for now, but next season there will be a brand new bathroom and laundry facility. This campground has been a family favorite for years! There are several options for site types, with electric and water hookups and spaces for RVs. Access to the swimming pool is a big plus! Staff is all super friendly and helpful. It’s a great spot if you’re wanting to experience Maine. Very close to Kennebunk town center and beaches.

A small but trees all around rv park. This is no thrills with basic WiFi. It is about 10 min walk to short sands beach in York. There is plenty to do there and nice to be so close but feel away from it all.
