Electrical Issues

I value the reviews left here, so I felt I needed to leave an honest review in hopes it will help someone else. We stayed here for almost 2 weeks. During that time there was a sewage smell near the bathhouse. The sites are not level and most are not shaded or very wide. We also had brown water and were extremely thankful for our multiple water filters. We paid for a 30 amp service, but had low voltage the entirety of our stay. The solution that was proposed, was that we remove our Watchdog EMS and Surge protector. We decided to keep our Watchdog on. They had several campsites on the same breaker, something we have never seen at any campground in our 3 years of travel. On our last day, we didn't even have enough voltage to keep fans running inside our RV. Please be aware that low voltage seems to be an ongoing problem as an RV behind us had an electrical cord burn up while we were there.

Great Staff, Nice Sites

We were greeted with the most amazing, kind and service oriented staff! Just wonderful to see these days. Our site was a pull through and it was wooded and flattish. Some rocks on boulders, but we fit in fine. We were right next to a tenting site. Kind of close, but we managed to put the back of the RV toward their site. It is dog friendly!!! Lots of things to do on grounds and around this area. We had a great time. Plus, they have nice hot showers for free. No quarters here! lol In short, we loved our time here.

Great Memorial Day Weekend

There was a bit of a mix-up when we checked in; we were given the wrong site. We were setting up and realizing it was a 20 amp site and we had booked a 30 amp site. The site was also a bit tight, so we decided to check in with the office. This is when we found out they sent us to the wrong site. They sent two employees over to help us pack up and relocate. Super friendly! We were also offered free lobster which we took them up on.

The campground is nice and quiet and everyone camping here so friendly. Our original neighbor (at the wrong site) actually helped us back into the tiny site.

There were activities going on for the holiday weekend and we enjoyed participating in them.

We would love to come back!

Just O.k.

If you want to visit the Phippsburg area of Maine, your camping options are pretty limited. We chose Meadowbrook Camping Area for the simple fact we wanted to explore that particular area of Maine. The campground has a mix of sites from tent sites tucked away in the woods to large RV sites in the open. We camped in a 45’ RV and wanted a 50 amps full hook-up site severely limited our choices. We were assigned a pull thru that had such a steep incline we determined it best to actually back into the site so we didn’t bottom out trying to get up the hill. The site was unlevel and we were always on a bit of an incline. Our coach is pretty sensitive when it comes to leveling so this may not be a problem with other units or towables. The site and driveway were gravel and we had a decent picnic table and fire pit.

There are a fair amount of seasonals that have lots of junk around their campers and some sites are pretty unsightly. The restrooms were really old and not very clean. The office is a little run down and the maintenance shop behind it was unsightly with lots of equipment and stuff lying around. Needless to say, our first impressions of the campground were not that good. They tout themselves on the fact that they have fresh lobster on-site and will cook and deliver them to your site. But one look at the dirty water in the tank and we decided to head to the local lobster dock and wrangle up some fresh ones from the clean ocean water. They have a poolside café with a pretty all-day extensive menu. We didn’t eat there but it seemed to be pretty busy as it looked like lots of orders were always being. Our campsite was right next to the pool, café, and arcade area so we had a view of all the action. At least our patio side was not facing that busy area. There was an open karaoke night around a community fire pit that was very popular and everyone was having a great time.

People here were very nice and overall it was an o.k. stay. We choose this campground because it was the only one in the area we wanted to explore.

Birthday Bliss!

Was my first camping trip in a long time. This place is great and so special. We stayed for 4th of July weekend (my birthday) and even though the place was fully booked we still felt like we had the place to ourselves Most of the prime sites are nice and spread out a little from one another We love the cliff site. It’s our favorite!! And I mean getting lobstah delivered to your campsite. It doesn’t get any better. The family that runs it’s is super friendly. Staff are awesome. Good bathrooms with hot showers are a nice touch too! And a sink to wash dishes ! Yee! We relaxed. Hiked along the small lake there. Cooked up a storm and just enjoyed ourselves in nature. 🏕

Not impressed

We camped here a week after the 4th of July and this was the first and last campground we will go to that allows “Fireworks” almost every campsite was firing their own fireworks and debris was falling all over our tent and other belongings. Our son was terrified and had a really hard time going to bed. Will not return

For the lobster lover

Great place! Lobsters for sale straight out of the tank cooked and delivered to your site every day. Don’t forget to add corn and potatoes. Fire pits are stone and awesome. We had a w/e site. The full hook up sites are in a field and close together. We preferred to be in the woods. Bring bug spray. We liked our site but got so bitten up.
Popham beach is so close and by far one of the best beaches in Maine. If you are looking for a place in Maine close to a beach and where you can have lobster this is it! We can’t wait to come back next summer!

Needs people skills

Enjoyable site, but was told the cliff was the only available site, we arrived to find 20 other empty sites, employees here were not very pleasant

Not rustic or luxurious, but great access to Popham

This is a nice campground really close (though still driving distance) to Popham Beach - which is one of the best beaches in Maine, in my opinion. As someone who prefers more secluded, rustic camping, the mix of cars and RVs was not my favorite. But, there were really nice shower and laundry facilities which was a nice bonus for being in a more family friendly environment.
