OOB Retreat

We have stayed at Wild Acres both before and after Sun Outdoors acquired it. We have had a great time each time we stay.

It is resort camping with all of the amenities, pool, hot tub, mini golf, adults only area, group fire ring and more. We love going in the fall to enjoy the leaves and sit in the hot tubs. The location is close to OOB and easy to get around.

Quiet & Nice + lots of activities for families

This was a nicely shaded and quiet park, even with kids running around. There was a nice pool for the kiddos, as well as kayaks and water toys for the pond, which looks like a lake. Great sized dog parks - 2 connected to each other. People are super nice. Sites are pretty close together.

Staff super nice. Wifi not great and we have starlink - lots of obstruction so if you need uninterrupted access I’d check with the front desk to see if there are clearer areas for your satellite. Laundry was a bit of a trek from our site, but not a huge deal. Overall pleasant stay, though!

Family friendly

Very big complex and sites are close together. If you like privacy and more of a camping experience, this is not the place. However, it has walkable beach access, and the kids loved the heated pool. Bathrooms are clean. We stayed a weekday night and over the weekend and the weekend was crazy busy. A little too much.

The Good with the Bad

This place is like the title says. Good with the bad. Good first: it’s the closes campground to the beach around. Quick walk to the sand and just a little further to the pier. Clean and neat facilities. Great activities for the kids. And now the Bad: most sites your right on top of each other. And the campground map is missing the train tracks that are between the campground and the ocean. The trains all blow there horn and you will hear it if your at one of the site “by the ocean”. I would stay at the campground again but will be sure not to be so close to the “ocean “.

It is not like on the website

We asked for a site on the edge of Atlantic Ocean, like was described on their website map, we got a train honking behind of our RV and a big construction besides of our windows with huge trucks coming and going all day long since 7:00 AM.
This will gonna be our first and last time here for sure.

Beach is so close!

We have been camping at Wild Acres for over 10 years. We were even seasonal for awhile. There is so much for everyone to do. We will however, never return on Labor Day weekend - way too noisy and quiet hours were not respected (like people partying until 4am), that is just over the top! But we will be back and hopefully with a new RV!

Not our bag, but...

More of a festival than an RV resort. Extremely crowded, close sites, and heavy car traffic in walking and bike areas. Sun night was way quieter than Fri and Sat night. Park has great amenities, and well run but just be prepared for large groups, loud music and managed chaos. Not big rig friendly not overnight friendly. Trolley access to the beach area was great and people are friendly. Safe travels.
