Wish we stayed longer

Decided to give this campground a shot based off of pictures of the lake. We were not deceived! The lake water is crystal clear (and warmer than expected). The campsite was perfectly fine for our pop up, with room to spare. Quiet, with a nice field for the kids to get some energy out in the…

  • Overview of campsite. A bit of a downhill angle to the site, but nothing that couldn't be worked out.

Amazing family campground

This place was great for families with a pool, lots of play spaces and lawn games. They had the cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen at a camp ground. The sites are a bit close together is the only bad thing I'd mention.

RV, Glamp, or Tent

I am really still new to the whole travel trailer thing. We had a full hook up site, mixed in with a bunch of vintage campers. It was Vintage Camper weekend afterall. While the sites are not super spread out, they are not right on top each other either. This campground is immaculate. Everyone we…

Quant with awesome views

This is a great quant campground. It was built back in the 50’s but there are plenty of sites for those of us with large campers. The sites are right on the lake with gorgeous views. Some sites even have their own pier to sit out on and fish or swim from or simply watch nature. They rent kayaks and…

A restful blend of beach and spruce

Last weekend, our family stayed at White Lake State Park for four days. While initially drawn to the campground because of its proximity to Chocorua, one of the most rewarding hikes in the Whites, we barely left the campground. We spend our days enjoying the park's pleasant beach and clear water.

  • Lots of hammock opportunities!
  • Level campsites equipped with fire rings and nice picnic tables
  • "Camp clean" bathrooms -- a little grimy but not gross

Great Family Campground

Every summer, we would take the kids camping for a week at White Lake State Park and we all loved it. There’s a great beach with lots of room and a big Sandy swimming area. You can rent canoes, hike around the lake, and the kids could safely ride their bikes around the campground. There is a…

Best Primitive Camping Around

I have been camping at Hermit Island for my entire life. Every year we have an annual camping trip there with friends and family. I believe this is the best primitive camping experience you can have.

Some info that may be helpful. Campsites do not have any electricity, there is no water at the…

Perfect!

Small and quaint. This was such an adorable perfect campsite. Lots of seasonal campers who are all super friendly and helpful. Made some friends in day one and hope to be back at some point if not this summer then definitely the next! Truly “family camping at its best” as the sign says! Small rec…

Halloween!

This visit we had our hybrid camper in one of the wooded sites. The Halloween celebration is really well done- campers decorate their sites, there is an in-costume parade, and the central, bigger rigs are set up for trick or treating. The haunted house is scary enough that I waited by the exit!…

Great spot, great hosts

Kid and pet friendly. Lots of activities for kids including a flashlight candy hunt, water slide, and s’more roast. We’ve been coming back for years and the addition of a glamping tent, cabins, and domes have made it even nicer!

Great Beer, Great Food and Great People

My wife and I just spend an overnight here.  The brewery is really cool, and the wood fired pizza is some of my favorite.  The folks who run this place are really friendly and accommodating. Both my wife an I really enjoyed ourselves.

This is definitely an RV park.  The sites are close…

Yay Fryeburg!

Great camping spot with wonderful sites with water views. Nicely spaced out which I find important. Clean, friendly caretakers and close to town for quick last minute needs.

Nice campground with a variety of sites to accommodate all.

Boothbay Harbor is a cute coastal Maine town and Shore Hills Campground is a great location for visiting the downtown and other Maine towns like Wiscasset and Easy Boothbay. Shore Hills has a wide variety of sites that can accommodate everything from the biggest size RV to tents. The great thing…

Inaugural Trip worth taking

We decided to take a first trip in our RV to Moody Beach to see how the Leprechaun handled and setup. We had a wonderful time and great experience with our first trip with our dogs. They were comfortable and curious. It was relaxing and fun. It was only the second open weekend and a few things…

Just O.k.

If you want to visit the Phippsburg area of Maine, your camping options are pretty limited. We chose Meadowbrook Camping Area for the simple fact we wanted to explore that particular area of Maine. The campground has a mix of sites from tent sites tucked away in the woods to large RV sites in the…
