Good for boaters.

If you are into boating and have a 30’ or less camper or like to tent camp this is the place for you. There are several lake front sites, both with power/water hookups and primitive tent sites. If you have a larger RV (35’ or bigger) your choice of sites is limited. There are only 2 sites (59 &…

Camping at Doll Mountain, Carter’s Lake

We just returned from a 4 day camping trip at Doll Mountain, Carter’s Lake. We stayed at a campsite that had water and electric. However, there was a septic dump site leaving the campground. At Doll Mountain there are all types of campsites. We have a RV and the site where we stayed was…

Can’t wait to go back

Woodring campground is now one of my favorites. Beautiful lake views and access, great variety of hiking trails.

I am driving a 34’ class a and pulling a 16’ car trailer and was able to squeeze into this campground (barely). Had electric and water hookups. Water pressure is great coming from…

Beautiful and stuff to do!

What a pretty place! Nice size campsite with no dedicated spot to pitch the tent but multiple options bc it is multi level with the fire pit down low in a separate hang out area. We did have a difficult time staking the tent with our tiny stakes so make sure you have titanium, the gravel is tough!…

Great place to camp.

This campground was right off of the interstate and very easy to get to so that was a benefit. I didn't make a reservation so I just showed up and all the tent sites were taken so I just rented an RV spot. The scenery was absolutely beautiful and neighbors were very friendly and had a permanent…

Great Park with Secluded Camping

We camped in site number 9, which is in the back of the campground. Sitting at our RV, we couldn’t see any other sites, just the woods! The hiking is great, especially for kids. We wanted to do the boat rentals but got rained out. However, be forewarned that you have to rent boats at the main…

Can't wait to go back!

This is a nice primitive camp site just a 2 min walk from Petty John Cave and a 5 min drive to Rock Town Trailhead. Come here to try your hand at rock climbing and spelunking. The permit was 15 dollars to access Rock Town and the Caves... I'd like to come and try my hand at spelunking some time…

Pretty

The site was really spacious. There is a nice railing around the site. The campground is really hard to navigate around. The campground is not marked well and we went past the entrance…by a decent amount. Campground said it had a laundry room, but it did not. Bathrooms were pretty old. No real…

Breathtaking views, Great Campground!

Fort Mountain State Park in Georgia was a fantastic getaway for my family. We spent five nights there and could not have been happier. The hiking trails are great, the lookouts on the east and west sides of the mountain offer phenomenal views, and we couldn't have found a better campsite if we had…

Peaceful, nice site.

We stayed at site 29 in the middle of June. Site 29 is on the peninsula, near the end. It is caddy corner from the beach swimming area and very close walking distance. You cannot see the site from the beach area or vice versa. The sites are close together, but not necessarily on top of one another.…

Horrible Experience

Campsite was flooded when we got there, there was trash all along the area going down to the lake and the bathrooms/showers were DISGUSTING! Employees were very rude.

Stunning park!

Campground is good with lots of options including yurts. Cabins have a great view, but at least some of them have the hiking trail right behind them. But this is an amazing park! Terrific hiking that will really give you a challenge, with lots of stairs up and down, but with some amazing waterfalls…
