Topeekeegee Yugnee Park Campground in Hollywood accepts pets at all campsites with full hookups for RVs and tent camping areas. The park features wide, paved sites that accommodate big rigs, with clean bathrooms and showers available to campers. Most sites offer good shade from mature trees throughout the campground, providing relief for pets during hot Florida days. Markham Park Campground, another pet-friendly option, provides picnic tables and fire pits at each site, with both water and electric hookups available. Dogs must remain leashed throughout both parks, with designated walking areas for pet exercise. The campgrounds maintain a quiet atmosphere despite their proximity to urban areas, with Topeekeegee Yugnee Park occasionally experiencing early morning train noise from a nearby commuter line.

Walking paths surrounding both campgrounds offer convenient options for dog exercise, with Topeekeegee Yugnee Park featuring a paved walking trail that circles the entire park. Yacht Haven Park & Marina allows pets in their RV sites and cabins, providing water access where dogs can cool off during hot weather. Holiday Park permits pets but has limited shade and sits close to I-95, creating a noisier environment that may stress some animals. Several campgrounds enforce breed and size restrictions, with Southern Comfort RV Resort specifically noting limitations on certain dog breeds. The agricultural area surrounding Miami Everglades RV Resort, located about 30 minutes south, includes a large open field where dogs can run off-leash and chase frisbees. Most campgrounds require proof of current vaccinations at check-in, and nearby pet supply stores provide convenient access to food and accessories.

      Quiet Waters Park

No RVs, No Tent Setup, No Problem

Tucked away in the bustling suburbs of Deerfield Beach, Quiet Waters Park offers one of South Florida's more unusual camping experiences. This sprawling 427-acre Broward County park features sparkling lakes, tropical greenery and enough outdoor recreation to keep just about everyone entertained. But here's the twist: forget about bringing your RV or even pitching your own tent! Instead, the campground features 25 preassembled canvas tents and two traditional tepees, all situated on a scenic lakeside peninsula. With kayaking, fishing, mountain biking, cable wakeboarding and a seasonal water playground, there's certainly no shortage of ways to work up an appetite before gathering around the campfire.

The campground itself is relatively small and refreshingly uncomplicated. Each 10-by-10-foot canvas tent sits on an elevated wooden platform, helping keep campers off the damp Florida ground, while individual sites feature electricity, running water, picnic tables, charcoal grills and fire rings. The two tepees offer a fun alternative, particularly for families with adventurous youngsters. Restrooms with hot showers are conveniently located within the camping area, and there's even a sand volleyball court and horseshoe pit for a little friendly competition. While the grounds are attractive and the lakeside setting is lovely, don't expect luxury accommodations or complete seclusion. This is camping with a few creature comforts, not 'glamping' at the Ritz-Carlton!

There are a couple of important considerations before booking. First, you'll need to bring your own bedding and camping essentials, mosquitoes can be relentless during warmer months, and South Florida's humidity doesn't magically disappear just because you're sleeping under canvas. Secondly, there are absolutely no RV campsites, making this a destination exclusively for tent and tepee enthusiasts. Nevertheless, for families, first-time campers and anyone seeking an easy introduction to outdoor living, Quiet Waters offers a wonderfully different experience. Third, if you are thinking of booking one of the teepees as a novelty experience, you should, but be aware, there's a reason why Native Americans generally didn't use teepees in FL - there's very little ventilation, so at least during the summer months, you'll want to avoid these particular accommodations.

Insider's Tip: (1) If you want an absolute beautiful sunset view directly from inside the canvas tent you booked for the night or your nearby picnic table, then book one of the sites that sit on the northern edge of the small peninsula of campsites; (2) There's slightly more breeze that blows into your thick canvas tent if you are on the southern perimeter of the peninsula - I booked site #21 and experienced GREAT views of the water, had decent breezes (but still needed the aid of my electric jumbo fan); (3) If you are thinking about bringing your bike or hiking shoes, you absolutely should AND your swimming shorts as the cable skiing adventure is WELL WORTH IT - I wished I had known this was here before I arrived here otherwise I would have come prepared; and (4) The CG staff here are FIRST RATE, so when you are booking, be sure to follow their recommendations and advice - perhaps the biggest tip I could give you is to download the APP before you arrive to allow for a seamless gate entry experience, even after dark.

      Happy Camping!

      larry and penny Thompson campground

      County campground

This is a Miami safe county campground with a lot of rules. FHUs, big rig friendly, friendly staff, clean facilities. Laundry and even has a clothesline. Big swimming pool,no lifeguards, ADA compliant. On the pricier side buy finding it normal for southern Florida campgrounds. I picked up an entire grocery bag of trash from our site upon arrival. Park allows long term stays

The Boardwalk RV And Mobile Home Resort

      Disgusting place

We planned on staying here for 5 months and hoped for longer. But today, We just put in our notice that we are leaving. I hope my experience will help you make your decision to stay here. While management is extremely proud of writing 1000 notices to people over the last year, this is still the reality of what you get. They don't seem to know what's available, unless you speak Spanish. Then they got a spot for you. Lots of RV's with window ac units. Refrigerators outside Gate doesn't always work Gym is a joke 2 out of 6 washers out of order for months 2 out of 6 dryers out of order for months Men's and women's showers has no ac and standing water. Neighbors raising pigeons behind his RV. Few Neighbors have pit bulls Pool is nice.(When people are not watching chickens fight on their phone while standing in pool) LOTS OF FOR SALE SIGNS HERE. People are trying to leave this place. Good luck and safe travels

      Encore Sunshine Holiday

      Has everything/ near everything

Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Two pools kept very clean. They pick up your trash at your site daily. Have packages/mail sent/pick up in office. Sites are close together with neighbor's rv 3ft from yours and hookups are on the wrong side. I had no problem setting up(routed water & sewer hose around the back of my rv and the electric i passed under it using one of my crutches to pull the cord from under the rv! I absolutely will return!

      Bee Healthy Honey Farms

      Beautiful and quiet property

Felt safe in a gated community over looking the firehouse but also felt like maybe we were not supposed to be there and so we spent a lot of time inside our trailer.

      Paradise Island RV Resort

      Crowded

It's great to be in Fort Lauderdale, so close to activities. RV park is old, poorly kept, and crowded. Mostly long-term campers who were very friendly. Vehicles parked onto narrow black top roads. Dead leaves blown to the side but not picked up. Peeling paint in showers. Friendly staff to our faces, but overheard them being unkind when they didn't know we could hear.

    Guide to Hollywood

Campgrounds near Hollywood, Florida offer varied camping experiences within access to urban conveniences. The region features a subtropical climate with year-round warm temperatures, averaging 75-85°F during peak camping seasons. Many local parks maintain natural buffer areas that provide wildlife viewing opportunities while camping in this densely populated coastal region.

    What to Do

Kayaking access options: Yacht Haven Park & Marina provides direct water access where campers can launch kayaks or watch passing boats. "This park and the people who run it are awesome! If you camp on the canal, chances are you will be right next to some amazing yachts!" notes camper Donna S.

Mountain biking trails: The trail system at Markham Park Campground offers options for cyclists of all skill levels. "Lots of room to roam here. Great mountain bike trails, lakes, woods, disc golf, flora and fauna," according to Jeffrey W., who also mentions the park's unique amenities like "a large outdoor shooting range and an RC airplane strip."

Swimming and water activities: Most campers appreciate the water features at C.B. Smith Park Campground, where visitors find relief from the Florida heat. "The park is big with a paved walking path around the park. On the west side of the park there's a lot of big mature trees that give a lot shade," reports Mark B., who also notes that the park includes "a water park for the kids, volleyball, many gazebos with grilling areas and more."

    What Campers Like

Location convenience: Campers frequently mention the strategic location of Hollywood-area campgrounds. Paradise Island RV Resort earns praise for its proximity to urban amenities. "This is a campground in the middle of the city, so don't expect a lot of quiet, as this is how it is in a city," explains Richard H., adding, "it was extremely convenient to all of the Fort Lauderdale area."

Clean facilities: Topeekeegee Yugnee Park Campground consistently receives positive reviews for maintenance. "Clean park friendly staff. Great amenities," writes Darren F., though he notes two downsides: "The campground does sit next to a train track i believe its a commuter line so there is an early train 4am which is startling. Other downside is park closes at 8."

Pet-friendly environment: For those seeking pet friendly camping near Hollywood, Florida, Davie / Fort Lauderdale KOA welcomes pets at their tent sites. "Stayed at one of the tent sites with water and electric. Very friendly staff. This place gets really crowded during winter season," reports Pavel T., highlighting the campground's popularity during peak months.

    What You Should Know

Traffic and noise considerations: Holiday Park sits close to Interstate 95, creating a noisy environment that affects some campers' experiences. Stuart K. notes, "The upside? Holiday Park, while not exactly a 'holiday' by any stretch of the imagination, provides very quick access to I95 (it's literally just 2 blocks away). While this may be a positive for some, obviously being located this close to a major highway is a huge bummer at the same time, given all the street noise."

Reservation requirements: Many Hollywood-area campgrounds fill quickly during winter months. Davie / Fort Lauderdale KOA becomes particularly busy from November through March. "This place gets really crowded during winter season," confirms Pavel T., making advance reservations essential during this period.

Security measures: Several campgrounds implement security procedures that affect access. At Topeekeegee Yugnee Park, camper Darren F. explains, "Park closes at 8, you can still enter through the exit gate until midnight and then have to call security to get in/out."

    Tips for Camping with Families

Playground access: Hugh Taylor Birch State Park offers family-friendly amenities despite its urban setting. "This park is an oasis in the midst of Ft. Lauderdale. There's hiking, kayaking, beach access, and even a nice little restaurant on premises," writes Jennifer L., though she cautions, "Get there early as parking fills up quickly during peak times."

Water play options: Many families select campgrounds with swimming facilities during hot months. C.B. Smith Park features "a water park for the kids" according to Mark B., making it particularly popular for family camping near Hollywood.

Wildlife viewing opportunities: Several parks offer educational wildlife experiences for children. At Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, Jennifer L. notes the kayaking trail where there are "lots of turtles and fish visible in the water," providing natural learning opportunities for children.

    Tips from RVers

Site selection advice: RVers camping near Hollywood, Florida should carefully consider site dimensions and access. At Yacht Haven Park & Marina, Ron M. advises, "The park is too tight, and the staff too poorly trained to be tolerable. The spot was pretty, and the location for someone who is doing the tourist thing would be great. Shopping, the beach, and great restaurants are all nearby."

Hookup considerations: Most Hollywood-area campgrounds offer full hookups, though configurations vary. At Topeekeegee Yugnee Park Campground, Mark P. found "good power, good water pressure and cable but didn't use it. All paved or concrete. Bathrooms and showers were very clean," noting he "was very surprised to have very fast wifi."

Seasonal impacts: RVers should prepare for temperature variations and crowds. C.B. Smith Park provides good shade from mature trees, and Kelsey P. mentions, "We stayed in the back behind the lake and it was very quiet/family friendly. The lake/dock area is beautiful, and there's a massive playground across from the campground in the main park."
