Excellent place to camp and chill

The sunsets over the water are spectacular. Even though I’m a local, you never get tired of watching them. My site was private and (mostly) clean. Easy pull throughs available if you’re not a savvy backer-upper. The only downside was the loud music playing at the park next door, and I love music! But after a while, and especially late at night, you want to slow the merengue down a bit, neighboring park :) There may have been a festival of sorts going on at that time, and if you’re up for a party, you know where to find it! Good thing I had the quiet on the left, party on the right option 😂🎉🍾 not complaining. Just observing. I’m still young enough to appreciate a good gathering and celebration. But if it’s extreme solace and quiet you’re seeking, go somewhere more primitive, perhaps? This is a hustling bustling area come season and it’s jam-packed with things to do. But I highly recommend this park for my fellow travelers and locals !

Clean and friendly

The campground was very clean with full hookups and sewer directly at our camp site.

Great Spot!

We stayed a week and loved it. The basketball court on the other side of the fence can be a little loud until about 11pm but I'm a night guy so it didn't bother me. Other than that it's quiet, clean and close to many restaurants and stores.

Relaxing

We used to come here in the 80's when they first opened. The area has definitely blown up since then but the park remains the same. Quiet, clean and very peaceful (unless there's a game but of course that's ok) We had site 48 which I highly recommend

Great stay

We stayed here for 5 months last winter. The park is very well maintained. The front area is more for weekenders. We stayed in the back behind the lake and it was very quiet/family friendly. The lake/dock area is beautiful, and there’s a massive playground across from the campground in the main park. The office was flexible and accommodating on reservations, changes, etc. Only drawbacks: the water park was closed due to covid, and the park does testing/vaccination so there was often a lot of traffic inside the park.

Flat, hot.

cI have had a problem with campgrounds in South Florida. Either they are flat, hot, and poorly appointed or they are tree covered, glade like ambience, and buggy as hell. C.B. Smith is the former.

The tenting area is characerless, treeless, the facilities are far removed and poorly maintained, in spite of being relatively new, and not well policed.

The RV section, which I never use (I am a tenter), is more inviting. It is shaded, well kept, and visually appealing. The facilities are more accessible and well maintained, and the grounds are kept clean and visually appealing. There is easy access to water and sewerage, and I occasionally see park personel helping with hookups.

There is easy access to shopping, it is only 12 miles from the beach, and there is a multiscreen theatre for those rainy summer days. In the park there is a water park, an outside "gym", mini-golf, batting cages and driving range. There are many gazebos with tables and grills for group picnicking, There is a well groomed, paved path that winds it way through the park and a perimeter road that circles the park, ideal for bike riding.

For me, the tenting area has one appeal I can't discount. It is very close to my home. When I just want a couple of days out of the house, I can walk there.

The prices are in line with South Florida campgrounds, from $25.00 a night for primitive or "Preserve camping", an area with electric, water, better access to facilities, concrete pads and gazebos, to $40.00 for the RV area.
