We have two RV sites located 2 miles passed the summit of poncha pass. Just 15 miles outside of Salida and a 35 minute drive to monarch ski area. This beautiful property has an unobstructed view of the Sangre de Christo mountain range. It is a star gazers paradise. There is plenty of hiking on the property and it’s less than 5 minutes from national Forrest. The sites have water and electric hook ups. There is a dump station 15 minutes down the road. We can even offer winterized sites in the colder months via special request for longer stays.

    Beautiful views and great privacy

I stayed here for 1 night of car camping and will definitely go back. I only went about 4 miles in on the rocky/rutted road (vs the 5 miles that the directions say) and thought the sites were great. I stayed at a big site on the right with beautiful views and a fire ring. Aside from hearing some (maybe - not sure) coyotes at night, I wasn't aware of any other wildlife. I was in a 4Runner and my friend that I was with was driving a Highlander. As another poster commented, I saw a small sedan in one of the sites but wouldn't drive way out in anything but an SUV or truck. I have AT&T and had 2 bars of service.

    Beautiful and peaceful 💚

The sky is GORGEOUS. The road is very rocky & very rough, so you'll want to have decent clearance and be prepared to take it slow. I've never seen so many stars!

Costs a lot more than listed

We were charged $170 for a site in the middle of a gravel parking lot. It included dinner, breakfast and use of the hot springs. The WiFi didn’t reach us, but worked in the buffet style cafeteria-like dining area. Way overpriced for the experience!

Out there but not too far

Went with the family and had a great time. We got a site because of a cancellation and, unfortunately it was next to the bathroom. Didn't bother us though. It was our first trip using our new popup and it was def a learning experience. That all being said we were able to hit up Mount Princeton hot springs AND visit the St. Elmo ghost town. By the end of the trip the kids were begging to go back asap.

    Great All Around

We had a great time. Our family and another reserved two sites next to each other. The pools on site were perfect for the kids. On site mini golf was a blast. The views in the campground were awesome. Aside from the aforementioned, there was a small store on site with ice and wood (can't bring your own wood) and the food they served at the mess hall was fire.

Came for the daily soak - stayed for the camping

This place was great! We originally planned just to do a daily soak before heading to our next campsite but ended up just staying here because we enjoyed it so much. The camp sites were simple but great and you have total access to all hot springs, bathrooms, showers, sauna, AND a communal outdoor kitchen. We participated in the clothing optional experience but didn’t feel like we had to. Great people all around from guests to staff. Highly recommend!

Amazing vistas! Big private sites. Tough road that gets progressively technical as you go farther up towards trail head.

    Labor day mountain camping

Nice campsite. Bathrooms were locked and no host on site today maybe due to holiday. Plenty of hiking nearby. Hike to the falls is short and worth it. You can also hike further up to the lake.

    Great Sand Dunes Oasis

    Great Location

We booked here last minute on a holiday weekend and we were thankful they had a spot for us! The campground parking area is just that. It’s a place to park for the night, with full hook ups. No wifi. The location can’t be beat! Views are incredible! The bath house was clean. There is a store and restaurant in property. They also have cabins to rent. . My only complaint…this is a dark sky area with expansive views of the sky and the opportunity to see the Milky Way. This is not something g I get to see at home! However, all the giant campers had their bright lights on at night and it really messed with viewing of the sky. I wish there was a rule of no outside lights at night. It’s unnecessary! If you are one of those people that leave your lights on when you go in for the night, please reconsider!

    Wild Cherry Creek Trailhead

    Quiet camping and stars

Several good spots with fire pits right near the trailhead. A few bugs in late August but nothing terrible. Very quiet except for the sound of the rushing creek. Verizon cell service was between 1 and 3 bars LTE depending on your line of sight to the tower. Road in is rougher towards the end but definitely doable in any SUV

    Cute campground

I didn’t actually camp here but drove through to check it out on a Wednesday afternoon. No sites were occupied.

The sites were pretty small and fairly close together but there are a lot of tall trees and vegetation that offer nice privacy. Several sites were right on the creek. I did see a water spigot too.

Stayed full day and overnight, sweet little campground. Chris the owner is a wonderful person and met us as we pulled in. Gave us a choice of sites, full hook up or just water and 30 Amp electric.(they do have 50 Amp too) Wife and I swam in the nice pool on site. Will go back on way home. Rates excellent!

i had an amazing time here. my site was great, so clean with a breathtaking view, clean bathrooms close by, and a bear locker! there is so much to do and the falls were insane. if you go past the trail and into the water to the cave, you can see the falls and feel the mist on your face. i am coming back next year FOR SURE. oh, and the camp host was very kind and friendly, truly a big help!!

    Mirror Lake

    Camping with a view

This was our first time camping at Mirror Lake, we originally were planning to stay at Gold Creek where we have camped before but decided to try somewhere new. After doing the Cumberland Pass from Pitkin to Tincup we found this beautiful spot to kick off our first night of our 10 day camping across Colorado trip for our honeymoon. When we arrived this was the last spot available, while there were other spots closer to the lake this was still a great spot. Ground is hard to get stakes in so I would recommend heavy duty stakes. Lots of side by sides in the area, so if this is something that bothers you I wouldn't recommend staying here. The lake was beautiful and we saw lots of people on kayaks and paddle boards as well as fishing. Would definitely return. We believe our spot was 5 but it may have been 7.

    Hidden Gem

We found this campsite through The Dryt app and so glad we did. We were on the tail end of our 10 day camping trip through the mountains of Colorado and spent our last two days here. The camp host Steve is amazing! The campsite was full when we made it up there and since he stays in a camper he let us rent his spot for 2 nights. Super clean campground and exceptionally clean bathrooms. He puts an air freshener and motion light in the vault bathroom both super nice extras. The area is beautiful and close to St.Elmos, Tincup Pass and lots of beautiful aspens and pines to hike through.

    Cows?

Great site, plenty of room, but there were so many open-range cows wandering around. Really didn’t mind during the day, until they started loudly mooing and screaming during the night. All the reviews here say it was quiet at night, so this must be a new development or we just got unlucky with timing. Never experienced anything like it. Put a damper on what was otherwise a great area for camping

    1st timer

This was my first go at dispersed camping in my new travel trailer.  Google Maps took me to the right location off of 285 and the dirt roads were manageable. I would recommend 4x4 or AWD vehicles but they're nothing too crazy.  Lots of good and large camping spots and I'd recommend a location on the left side of the road.

Sites didn't seem to be makred, and I stopped a bit short of what the coordinates that are listed.
