Great place in an awesome location! Stayed for 3 months beginning of 2020 and had a great time! The host is always checking to make sure your stay is everything g you need! Location allows access to some absolutely GORGEOUS places to explore in Colorado. The camp sites are a little snug but a few do have more room for privacy. Beautiful Rio Grande runs through the park and trees provide a very comfortable setting. Lots of wild life and stars are amazing at night
We had a not so great experience here. Had to check in after hours, called while someone was still in office and asked for what they would prefer and she told us to check in online. No check in packet, just a site number in the email and when we got there we had to drive around for 15 minutes to find the spot and it turns out someone was in that spot anyway. Ended up just taking a different one. There is only one stall with a toilet that always seemed to be monopolized by someone taking a shower.
Absolutely perfect place. Great showers and bathroom. Tent spot on the river was the best.
What a beautiful campground on the Rio Grande River. The river sites are huge. The bathrooms and laundry room are renovated (and they do not run out of hot water.) The fishing was awesome. The Rio Grande flows by and so do the trout. When we were there, fishing was free every 1st weekend of the month. The camp host Linda was so nice and very helpful. We will definitely go back here.
We stayed here a month and 2 days during this COVID-19 mess! Park Manager Lady is such a nice person! Beautiful grounds along the Rio Grande River with trail and gazebos for a very relaxing and restful stay! Very large relaxing and clean laundry room ($1.50 each load washer and dryer) bathrooms and showers are nice and clean. Very long pull through sites as well as some “hybrid” sites that aren’t pull through but since the hookups are on the wrong side you would need to pull in, unhook pull behind, and if your tow vehicle is short enough you can squeeze through the front of adjoining site to exit. Hookups are new but all seem to be placed too far up which requires you to pull your trailer to the end of the site to align hookups; otherwise you will need to run lengths of sewer and electric to connect. Not necessarily a negative but uncommon. Lots of trees and Many Many deer in the evenings for your entertainment.
Arrived early evening (6-ish) after rejecting a disbursed campsite which wound through "Hills Have Eyes" terrain. Immediately accommodated by the nicest lady, and led to campsite on a grassy opening a stone's throw away from a bend in the Rio Grande. RV area was out of site/ out of mind. The 4 or 5 tent sites were secluded, beautiful grounds, clean restrooms and showers just built. Fire pit provided and a bbq grill offered if needed. Would recommend and will return again, hopefully for 2 nights. Watch a skyful of stars and then fall asleep to the sound of the river.
