Several campgrounds near Eastlake, Colorado provide furnished cabin rentals with varying levels of amenities. Golden Gate Canyon State Park offers cabins at both Reverend's Ridge and Deer Creek campgrounds, equipped with electricity, heating, and basic furnishings. Denver West-Central City KOA features deluxe cabins with concrete pads, metal patio furniture, and full hookups. According to one visitor, "These were the nicest camping cabins we stayed in. You can't beat the view, people and the easy location to go into the downtown." Most cabins include beds with mattresses, picnic tables, and fire rings, while some also offer air conditioning units for summer comfort.

Rustic and deluxe cabin options accommodate different group sizes and comfort preferences. Pet-friendly cabins are available at several locations, including Standley Lake Regional Park and Denver Meadows RV Park, though policies vary by site. Reservations are essential, particularly during peak summer months from May through September when most campgrounds operate at full capacity. Winter cabin camping is limited to year-round facilities like Reverend's Ridge Campground, where cabins remain accessible even in snowy conditions. The A-Lodge Boulder Hostel provides cabin accommodations with a higher rating (5.0) but only offers 12 sites, making advance booking crucial. Clear Creek Getaway features distinctive A-frame cabins that one guest described as "the perfect little home with the most gorgeous view of the sunset."

Most cabin rentals provide beds with basic mattresses but require visitors to bring their own linens, pillows, and towels. Kitchen facilities vary significantly between locations, with KOA cabins typically offering more amenities than state park accommodations. Basic cabins may only have outdoor fire pits with grills, while deluxe options might include microwaves, mini-refrigerators, and coffee makers. Bear Creek Lake Campground provides electric hookups at cabin sites but requires guests to access water from central locations rather than in-cabin plumbing. On-site camp stores at larger facilities like Denver West-Central City KOA stock essential supplies, though prices tend to be higher than at grocery stores in nearby communities. Firewood is available for purchase at most locations, with some campgrounds prohibiting outside wood to prevent pest introduction.

Hermits Hollow Campground — Hermit Park

      Hermits Hollow

From a Sprinters point of view.

Sites are $45.00 a day plus parking

Sites were sloped, we took the flattest one we could find and it took 6” to block our van level.

      Pit toilets were very clean.

Sites had trees and boulders, spaced roughly 50’ apart, but there visible traffic on the main road below.

It was a nice campground but we liked the Bobcat Campground a couple miles farther up the road.

      See separate review.

      Bobcat Campground — Hermit Park

      Bobcat Campground

We took our Sprinter for its maiden voyage, this camp ground was beautiful, private and secluded.

Camping was $45.00 a day plus a parking fee.

Paid at the entry point to an extremely friendly attendant. Reservations can be made on line ahead of time and highly recommended in peak season, especially on weekends.

Site were 50’ to 100’ apart.

Sites were wooded and tucked into granite boulders.

In the 24 hours we were there we saw one car and two people walking their dogs.

Sites were pretty level, each with fire pits and picnic tables.

The pit toilets were very clean and with in 100’ of most sites.

Road in had signs stating you had to be in four wheel drive to avoid damaging the roads but they were very well graded.

Castle Mountain Recreation Area at Wellington Lake

Beautiful family and dog friendly campground!

Lake Wellington is a beautiful family and dog friendly campground just about 90 minutes from Denver. There are 75 sites, and even when it's pretty full they are decently spaced out that you don't feel too on top of other guests. We brought our dogs and a group of friends and had a great few nights, even seeing Bald Eagles mating!

Castle Mountain Recreation Area at Wellington Lake

Great spot - except for flies

If you are going to camp at a lakefront spot definitely have something you can sit in else you will be attacked by flies. Super quiet during the week - got busy over the weekend.

      Riverview RV Park & Campground

      Okay but…

We were here for 2 weeks and were rather disappointed.
The South 40 full-hookup sites had the worst sewer smell that I’ve experienced. No, it was not from our tank, it would come around the same time every morning and linger for a couple hours. The water pressure was unreliable to say the least, even when they were only at half capacity in the park. Nevermind the holiday weekend when the park is at max capacity…

We did like the trail around the park and the fenced in dog area, but overall the park was very dirty and dusty and the sites were in desperate need of a mow

      Jellystone Park Larkspur

      Amenity-rich, kid-friendly amusement hub

Full of amenities (best desc): Amusement Park, Mini-golf, Hot tub, Swimming Pool, Arcade, Fitness Center, Playground, Mini-Bowling, Pickleball, Volleyball, Basketball

Secured Gate checking/checkout, with attendants during the day, and code access after hours

Place is pretty huge, so need to walk a bit (unless you rent a cart)

WiFi can be a little spotty

Reverend's Ridge Campground — Golden Gate Canyon

      Up there

There must be another way in i would assume. 3.5 mile steep climb dirt rd in the rain was slick. After a 8 mile windy rd straight up. Like I said, probably another rd in. Campground is great once you get here. And it's paved!

    Guide to Eastlake

Cabin camping sites near Eastlake, Colorado sit at elevations between 5,800 and 8,500 feet, offering varied mountain and foothill settings throughout the year. Many properties maintain winter accessibility despite seasonal snowfall that averages 60 inches annually. Local cabin rentals typically require a two-night minimum stay during peak summer months.

    What to do

Hiking trails: Golden Gate Canyon State Park provides extensive trail networks with paths suitable for all experience levels. One visitor noted, "The options for trails are endless. Great for mountain biking or hiking enthusiasts" while another mentioned "we took the 3 mile hike behind campground which is beautiful but rocky - wear shoes that can withstand rocks."

Wildlife viewing: Standley Lake Regional Park Campground offers exceptional bird watching opportunities near cabin accommodations. "I don't know how you could not like a place with a huge lake that bald eagles nest beside. With a rookery, this is the spot for bird enthusiasts!" A different visitor mentioned that "several times a day if you're patient you can view them being fed."

Water activities: Rental options for paddleboards, canoes and kayaks exist at multiple parks with cabin facilities. A camper described one location: "Rent a floatation device or bring your own and enjoy the warmth on the lake." Many cabin sites feature direct trail access to water recreation areas without requiring vehicle transport.

    What campers like

Wilderness proximity with city access: A-Lodge Boulder - Hostel provides cabin accommodations close to urban centers. A reviewer described it as "a safe place to stay" with "cozy beds and a prime location." Most cabin facilities in the area maintain year-round availability with heating systems for winter comfort.

Mountain views: South Shore Campground at Carter Lake offers cabins with exceptional vistas. A visitor described the experience: "We were right on the waters edge, and the view in the morning was incredible, looking out over the lake with mountains in the background." Another noted "Good separation. Close proximity to lake and easy access."

Natural surroundings: Reverend's Ridge Campground — Golden Gate Canyon features wooded settings for cabin rentals. As one camper described, "Reverend ridge is a favorite of ours. Plenty of space between sites, electricity. Wooded and scenic." Cabin sites typically include outdoor fire pits with metal grates suitable for cooking.

    What you should know

Shower access: Base Camp at Golden Gate Canyon and several other locations require quarters for shower facilities. One visitor advised, "Restrooms are clean, but be sure to bring your quarters. I would give them 4 stars if you didn't have to pay for showers." Cabin rentals throughout the region typically provide electric outlets but not private bathrooms.

Winter conditions: Road access to higher elevation cabins requires appropriate vehicles during snow season. A visitor to one campground reported, "Trying to reserve online was a bit of a challenge (may have been user error) but I was able to call and the ranger I talked was very helpful in getting a reservation." Most parks maintain phone reservation systems when websites experience technical difficulties.

Site differences: Cabin facilities vary dramatically between locations, particularly regarding proximity to neighboring campers. One visitor observed, "The sites were very private and very quiet" while another noted, "I can see that the sites would be very close together if the property was full." Research specific site numbers when making reservations.

    Tips for camping with families

Playground access: Frazer Meadow Campground — Golden Gate Canyon provides dedicated child-friendly areas near cabin sites. A visitor mentioned "Our nine year old really liked the playground area." Facilities for children typically remain open from dawn until 10pm.

Food storage: Cabins with refrigerators offer significant advantages for family meal planning. According to one review, "There is a nice little store and the showers/bathrooms are well maintained." Bring cash for small camp stores as many do not accept credit cards for purchases under $10.

Safety considerations: Bear-resistant containers are required at many cabin locations. As one visitor reported, "The sites are very clean, have a bear box and close to parking." Children should receive supervision near water features as most lack lifeguards.

    Tips from RVers

Site selection: Denver West-Central City KOA offers cabins with RV amenities for travelers seeking both options. A visitor advised, "If you pick a tent site it's your best bet the electric sites are too close to RV's." Cabins near RV hookups often experience more noise and foot traffic than wilderness cabin sites.

Utility details: Electrical service at cabin sites varies significantly between parks. A camper at one location noted, "Loop E (electric hookups) is very spacious and well laid out. Every campsite is a pull thru allowing you situate anywhere along the paved area to best suit your needs." Most cabins with electrical hookups offer standard 20-amp service rather than higher amperage options.
