Hiking and biking enthusiasts will find direct trail access from Bobcat Campground, located 2.5 miles up a dirt road within Hermit Park Open Space. The campground operates seasonally from April through October, serving as a base for exploring Rocky Mountain National Park adventures just 30 minutes away. Sites accommodate both RVs and tents, though the narrow access road poses challenges for rigs over 30 feet.
The Bobcat loop features sites with varying privacy levels and terrain. Each site includes a fire ring, picnic table, and bear box, with vault toilets maintained throughout the camping area. Nathan P. notes "Views are great, bathrooms are clean." Several reviewers mention bear activity, with one camper reporting a bear damaged their water jug left outside overnight.
Cell service remains spotty across the campground, with occasional reception depending on wind conditions. The county charges $45 per night plus an additional $15 dump station fee. Water and waste disposal facilities operate at the campground entrance. Wind gusts can reach significant speeds, particularly during weather transitions.
For extended stays in the area, campers can explore nearby Hermits Hollow Campground — Hermit Park or Kruger Equestrian Campground. Reserve ahead during peak season, and secure all food and scented items in provided bear boxes.
