Beautiful, spacious composting toilet, outdoor prep sink and milkbarn converted cookshack is awesome even for several nights stay. GuideLove this campground, it’s well laid out, spots are level with picnic tables and grill/contained fire rings. Second time here, would absolutely return indefinitely. 13 is a pull through for a rig under 25ft right along the creek with stunning mountain views in 2 directions. Was here on the final day before closing for the season and having it basically all to myself was a huge bonus. There is no service for miles on Verizon, will need to plan ahead with your route or head towards Chama for a bit.

Coming from the bridge, the switchbacks can be pretty tight and steep. Our F250 had no problems, but any larger vehicle might be cautious.
The campsites were flat, open, and all dirt, desert landscape with sage brush and cacti all over.
It wasn’t very busy, there were 2 other campers around us when we woke up. There’s a short walk to the edge of the gorge that makes for a great view!
