Washboard roads lead to this Forest Service campground where Doug W. found solitude in June, securing a site directly along the river. The 25-foot RV length limit and rough access road keep crowds minimal at this Rio Grande National Forest location. Sites spread out in typical Forest Service fashion with ample spacing between neighbors.
Campers can access drinking water and restrooms, though cell service remains limited in this valley setting. While hiking options from camp are minimal, quality trails begin just up the road with valley views and manageable grades. For additional camping choices, explore places to camp around Rio Grande National Forest. Spectacle Lake Campground sits less than a mile southeast for those wanting alternatives.
