Within Rio Grande National Forest, Conejos Campground provides a riverside setting managed by the US Forest Service near La Jara. The campground works best for RVs under 30 feet due to site constraints. Access requires navigating washboard road conditions that demand slower speeds and patience.
Sites follow typical Forest Service spacing with ample room between neighbors. River access allows campers to secure spots directly along the water. June visitors may find the campground largely empty, offering solitude for those seeking fewer crowds. Hiking opportunities exist up the road from the campground itself. For additional options, campers can explore campgrounds around Rio Grande National Forest.
