State Park

We camped in the Ringtail loop which is open to individual camping from January through March (usually a group camping area). It is a big gravel parking lot where they jam everyone in there. Super tight! Decent hiking trails from the park especially Romero Canyon trail. Bathrooms/showers were…

Plenty to do

I have stayed here a twice and enjoyed both visits. Bathrooms are clean and all sites are well maintained. No wood fires are allowed but you can bring a propane fire pit. Plenty of trails are nearby.

Tucson Beauty

Beautiful state park campground. Huge, level, paved sites. All the sites in the B loops have water and electric( 20A, 30A, and 50A). Picnic table and bbq. No fire pits. Dump station near exit of loops and another near state park entrance. Nice selection of pull through and back-in sites. We had a…

Late arrival -found nice people to share their roomy campsite

Walmart nearby DOES NOT allow overnight. Did not check out amenities but the campground had roomy sites and is very well groomed. Everyone was friendly. Filled fresh tank at campsite. Dump station very clean. Great mountain biking-50 mile trail- in park.

It was fine

It worked in a pinch and was close to the national park entrance. Unfortunately, I arrived in the dark so be sure to go very carefully up the mountain. It’s very difficult to find a spot at night time because you cannot tell if it’s already taken or not. Sites are not the most level nor very big…

Beatiful scenic views

It is an absolutely beautiful area, and the views more than make up for some of the shortcomings of the site. Our site was more secluded, and it was very peaceful and serene at times. There was a full moon when we went, but I would imagine the stars are just brilliant out there on darker nights.…

Great campground clean bathrooms !

While busy, this is a well ran and well managed campground. The hosts are diligent to touch base with everyone coming in (safety) and the campsites though somewhat close together, offer unique ways to capture some privacy. The mountain can get very cold and windy at night, so make sure you have a…

Great location in the park with full hookups. Just be warned off its rains heavy, roads will flood.

The Best Group Site On Mount Lemmon

This is mine and my family's favorite place to stay when we go to Mount Lemmon. You can park right near your campsite and this site is only 5 miles from Summerhaven(the closest town). It is also a very beautiful area with springs and creeks everywhere!

Gorgeous mountain top site

Got here on a Sunday evening and were incredibly lucky to get a site close to the lake! The drive up to the campground is gorgeous and the campground is great as well. Spots are drive up with picnic tables, bear boxes, and space to set up a tent or two. There’s a camp store and public pit toilets.…

Large campground in Mt Lemmon

Spencer Canyon campground in Mt Lemmon is nestled under the pine trees and boasts a 15-20 degree drop in temperature from nearby Tucson. Bear boxes are provided as are vaulted toilets. I’ve seen trailers travel down the canyon, but I wouldn’t try it. The roads are steep and narrow. Perfect for tent…

Perfect tent camping spot

This sky island campground in Mt Lemmon is perfect for a quick weekend getaway from Tucson. The weather here is 10-15 degrees cooler than the city. This campground is small, with tent sites tucked away between pine trees. A vaulted bathroom is at the center of the parking lot.
