A little busy, but nice little area with hiking trails near by. Easy spot to get to that is right outside of the Scottsdale area.
Did a quick overnight trip. Easy to access in any vehicle. If you want to be more secluded keep following the shore line NW, however the more you travel the more ground clearance you’ll need so bring a vehicle with a little off road abilities of you want to be away from the trailers and RVS. Tons…

No frills but where else can you camp with burros? Nature Center was great and the staff was helpful. Showers were "meh".
Beautiful views of the lake, plenty to do. Busy on weekends and empty during the week.
Where I camped wasn’t necessarily within this same campground but I drove on Tonelea trail that you will see split off to the left from the main road. On this trail we’re few spots which were all taken. It was a really nice environment with hills, grass and all. Where I setup was about 50 feet…

This campground in McDowell Regional park is for tent camping and small Vans, etc. Mix of both walk in sites and back in sites. It is set back a ways from the rest of the park. No showers here. Need to go to the trail head or RV campground for showers which was a bit of a hassle. Excellent…
Not busy this time of year. The weather is a little bit cool for swimming, but it’s a nice place to hang out by the campfire. Great place to get a little bit off road but not really get too off road….
Beautiful Sonoran desert camping- spacious and clean. Easy access to trails. Fire pits and cement picnic tables at every site. Gravel drives.
Being near the lake is very nice. Our campsite was not level at all. Basically on the side of the hill. We could not reach the water hook up because of this. There are bathrooms and that’s the only amenity. Having two gate codes was frustrating. The map and signs are not very clear or easily…
Clean good camping in February 2021. Lots of razrs on the trail. Took seven springs cave creek to bloody basin road into the site. Then bloody basin back to I17 on the way home. Both scenic good drives. BUMPY. kidney rockers on the way down to the water. Air down.

I camped for 5 nights in the Roadrunner campground of Lake Pleasant. I had a site overlooking the lake and it was fantastic. Easy to get my 39' toy hauler in and room enough that I didn't have to unhook and could even put out my rear ramp as a deck.
Great view, easy to back in site (watch for…
Very short drive from civilization. Semi developed sites are a good way to break someone in to tent/car camping. Full restrooms and showers nearby. Usually clean.
You can even hit one of the restaurants at the lake.
Primitive camping on the shoreline is cool and still not too far from…
A dozen or so free tent sites. Tables, fire rings, grills. Vault toilets. Campers under 20’ should be okay. Larger RVs should consider a spot back off seven springs road. Going too much further up the road isn’t a good idea for RVs.
Road in is pretty good. Some washboard. Most vehicles will make…
Clean, well spaced camping just outside of Phoenix!
Didn’t go because I couldn’t even reach them over the phone. Non working number
