This dispersed camping area faces major challenges with trash accumulation and location confusion. Continuous OHV noise and nearby shooting range activity make it unsuitable for quiet camping, though OHV enthusiasts may appreciate the motorized recreation focus.

Not meant for RV campers

After trying the North entrance, we drove to this dispersed camping area to see if there were any possibilities. Nope. It's a gorgeous area for UTVing, but our truck (with UTV loaded in the back), barely made it in (super sandy at the entrance). There was no way our 43-ft motorhome would make it. This is another site with signs posted that you need to go at least 2 miles in before camping is allowed. Maybe in our tent-camping days we could have UTV'd in with a tent, and if that's your current camping era, this location might work for you.

Bulldog Canyon (all entrances) is an OHV Sport area first, Camp spot second

Thanks to the efforts of the environaz- mentality of the last 40 years there are horribly few true sanctioned OHV areas for folks to legally use and enjoy offroad Motorsports, neither FREE or PAID.   So OHV owners have nearly zero options.   Bulldog Canyon is one those tiny few chances for those OHVers.    Campers need to be cognizant of this and respect the OHV'er, not demand OHV'ers respect THEM!    If you are looking for a pure silent CAMPground, and are of the "get off my lawn" and or "man/woman shouts at clouds" type, look elsewhere.  There are PLENTY of options for such inflexible campers to demand adherence to THEIR level of enjoyment.    Bulldog isn't free, OHVers pay for the unlimited access - when allowed that access - to trails WITHOUT time/day/hour exceptions.   So if you're a camper, bring some earplugs if the sounds of all-hours OHVers is disturbing to you.   Bulldog Canyon is a fantastic area for those campers who enjoy the OHV.   I no longer can use an OHV but I enjoy seeing these younger generations doing what mine and earlier gens once took for granted nearly everywhere unrestricted.     Highly recommend Bdog Canyon for the fun-lovers and young-at-hearts.   For the HOA-loving types, sincerely consider elsewhere for your benefit and those of others.

Dyrt’s pinned location is wrong

I do not know where the true campground is for this spot, but if you go to these coordinates it is only a parking lot for a trail head. There are NO vehicle entrances.

I believe the correct spot is

“West Gate to Bulldog Canyon OHV Area” which is less than a mile NE from here. This area has gates that are locked sometimes but the parking lot is much larger and you can fit an RV there.

Keep in mind there is a shooting range about 1.5 miles from both of these locations and there is a lot of traffic at night. It doesn’t bother me, personally, but if you are prone to PTSD or have trouble sleeping, I recommend going somewhere else.

Nasty man at the end of the road

Map led me to the wrong place and I could not find the correct place and the west entrance there is absolutely no camping over there. There was a nasty man at the end of the road where this map took me.

Worst place to camp

Some folks just weren’t raised right and shouldn’t be allowed to own a sxs or 4wd vehicle. Had my f250 out and had some idiot running his sxs all night long with music blaring and doing 45 mph by camp. Around 1130 pm we had a truck and sxs pull within 100 ft of our camp and just start talking and carrying on like nobody was around. It’s hard to get away from ignorance these days, even when camping.
