I really appreciated having the separate tent area, which always makes for a quieter camp. The sites are right on the water and have a nice breeze. There are a few trees spread about, but definitely not a lot of shade or privacy. But even a holiday weekend, the tent sites were not all full when I…

Quiet off main roads very easy access
The campground only has a little over 20 sites, keeping the whole place nice and on an intimate scale, especially if you are able to snag one of the lake-side campsites, which have nice lake breeze and beautiful views. The park is an important sacred site (I suggest visiting the mounds at sunrise),…

We were here for an overnight stop on the way back to Florida. The owner is great and we had a pull through site so we didn't have to unhook. Looks like there is a lot to do, but we were only there a short time. There is some road noise from I-10 but not a deal breaker.
were on site 8 at the campground and it wasn't too bad of a site. In fact, the only bad thing about the campground were the roads inside the campground area itself. Bathhouse looked great, sites were relatively level and well spaced out

Improvements every time we stop. Wifi, good cell signal (tmoble & att) not a lot of frills.
Site #89, nice level site with shade. The other sites nearby are very close so no a lot of privacy.
Campground was very busy with swimmers, fishermen, boats and jet skis. Not like the state parks I have camped.
I booked a short 3 day lay over here on the first leg of my coast to coast journey out of Florida. I stayed 6 weeks. Dolthan is a nice town. Everything you need with some local flavor mixed in. Half dozen trail heads in the area. I hiked 3 well kept paths. Forever Wild is mostly a cross country…
Camping with a scout troop & it was awesome even though it rained. The caverns were just incredible & the amenities were great. Plenty of room to roam & setup camp.
It is clearly an older park with not much recent love. It is clean but not perfect.
The sites have older hookups but they are functional. The campsites are not level and some of them you have to guess where to put the trailer. We stayed on April 8& 9 (Thursday and Friday) and found it…
We enjoyed this off the beaten path state park. Nice , quiet area with the mounds and trails to explore. Super friendly rangers and welcome center staff.

Have waited six months into our RV life to start reviews for fair comparisons. Stayed 2 nights in 35 foot RV+tow car at$22/night. The road in is very rough and rugged, but was completely manageable if you just go slowly (and weave a bit to avoid the huge holes). Hard to do a fair overall review as…
Have waited six months into our RV life to start reviews for fair comparisons. Stayed 2 nights in 35 foot RV+tow car in 2 different sites at$27/night. This campground was alright, nothing wrong with it, just nothing too exciting. Waterfall wasn’t very exciting either. The hiking trails were small…
Very clean, very good hospitality and vey nice location. Sites are a little tight and few are on water but the atmosphere and hospitality by far makes up for it.
Nice COE park. Level sites, many on the water. Some sites really wet with standing water in rainy weather. Host was not very accommodating when we asked to be moved to a dry site when the site next door was available, with no one arriving until the next day. It was an over night stop for us.
