White Oak Pastures is a real, live working farm. This means that depending on which accommodation you choose, you may be driving on a dirt road to get there. You may wake up to cattle, sheep and goats, hogs, or poultry roaming just outside of your door. And although we do our best to make our accommodations free of any uninvited guests, you may also occasionally encounter bugs (who are trying to enjoy life in the countryside, just like you). You can dine and shop in downtown Bluffton. Our General Store offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and you can stock up on everything from bug spray to snacks for the road. Read more about what to expect during your stay. Most of our cabins do not have TV or Wi-Fi. We find most of our guests actually enjoy this change of pace as a “digital detox” from busy everyday life. We hope you will disconnect from your devices and connect with nature. Don’t worry: if you do need it, free Wi-Fi is available at our General Store. Our on-farm accommodations are certainly pet friendly! We do ask that dogs are kept on leashes while out exploring the farm because we do have guard dogs that roam and protect our herds and flocks from sharp tooth predators. There are a couple of places on the walking tour such as the processing abattoirs that we cannot allow pets. There’s plenty to do in South Georgia. You can stay busy with a tour of our farm, local hikes, and visits to other local tourist attractionsv. We provide custom maps and are happy to make recommendations for local attractions when you plan your visit.

    Awesome stay

My kids and I absolutely loved it here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We did tent “glamping” so we had electric, water and wifi nearby but still enjoyed our time away from concrete buildings. We had a fire pit, picnic table, and parking to ourselves. The pool came in clutch since it is very humid and hot over there. It was nice, CLEAN and refreshing. My kids are not too big so we had enough space to play backyard games not sure there is enough grassy area for older kids or adults. You can walk around and down to the pond and check out the surroundings for added entertainment. The bathrooms and showers were tidy and clean. I really did love it here and based on my experience here I will be looking at other KOA Journeys to visit. My experience is based on a tent site and I’m fairly new to camping. Hope this helps!

    Omussee Creek Park

    No Frills Campground Outing

Omussee Creek Park is tucked away on the central-eastern side of Alabama, just a (couple of) stone’s throws from the AL-GA state line, just due south of Columbia, right off the Chattahoochee River. While there’s not a lot in the way of attractions out in these parts, there is plenty of nature to discover, from covered hiking trails (do bring a machete!), splendid little canals and streams that eventually connect to the Chattahoochee as well as some pretty splendid bird watching from the Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher and American Goldfinch to the never boring Blue Jay.

Insider’s Tip? There is the famed Coheelee Creek Covered Bridge that apparently people come from all over to see (I’m not really quite sure why that is although it appears to be one of the singular covered bridges in the state). For a good spot to dine out at, I recommend Log Cabin Restaurant right across the AL-GA state line in nearby Blakely – they’ve got everything you could think of fried, as well as some things that shouldn’t be fried, but taste great regardless!

Last tip – if you’re out to kayak or canoe, get out either early or late, as the current during the middle of the day can be quite strong. From a camping standpoint, brace yourself for bringing everything with you that you’ll need. The campgrounds are about 15 acres of pretty flat land with some decent brush around it, complete with typical 30/50 amp electrical, water and sewage hookups. There’s only 3 camping sites for tents all have fire pits with picnic tables. On-site, there’s a canoe launch ramp, covered picnic shelter, fishing hole and several walking trails to choose from.

    Happy Camping!

    Family Time Campground

Break Out the Family Camping Here!

This little gem is tucked away on the central-eastern side of Alabama, just a 20 or so minute drive from the AL-GA state line, just due south of Columbia, right off the Omusee Creek. Over in these parts you’ll find some solid nature to interact with, trails to hike and of course, all the fun and enjoyment you’d expect being this close to the water.

Let me share a bit about Family Time Campground: there’s a sweet little solar-heated pool that’s perfect for a classic sundowner (and not so great for swimming laps!), plenty of shaded and grassy areas for RV and trailers (22 spots in all), spacious long level lots in a private gated community, filtered water and free rentals, newly finished covered pavilion with about a half dozen brand new picnic tables that has a brand new BBQ, children’s playground, community firepit for s’mores and a fully functioning laundry facility. This RV site has full electrical, water and sewage hook-ups, free WiFi and there’s even a fully-stocked kitchen you can access while on site. For those that aren’t hauling their living room behind them, this property also has (3) bunk houses, (3) cabins, (4) camp rentals and even stationary RV’s for rent.

Insider’s Tip? On Sunday’s this campground offers up "all-you-can eat" pancake breakfast for $4 – you can’t beat this! Of course, there is the famed Coheelee Creek Covered Bridge that apparently people come from all over to see.

    Pull through privacy

This military RV campground was very nice. The pull through site that we were assigned provided privacy as it was situated off to itself. However because of the vast amount of trees we were unable to use the satellite and WiFi was not available, but the Rec room had plenty of books.

    Fun and Family Friendly

Engineer beach is fun and family friendly! The campsites and facilities are clean. A dump station is conveniently located at the entrance of the park. The bath house also has a laundry room. There is a small park with a swing set, teeter totter, and basketball hoop. There is also a boat dock which is convenient for accessing Lake Thollocco. I definitely recommend this campground as long as you don’t mind the helicopters going over at all hours of the day and night.

The campground has a serious ant problem, if you want ants in your rig this is the place to go. on this app it’s advertised 40 a night we were charged closer to 70 a night not worth it. Facilities were okay and staff was nice but the ant issue is a real problem.

Great place for one night stop. We pulled in after dark to find the park attendant had set us in a great spot near the spotlessly clean restroom for the night. We had no problem setting up and plugging in. WI-Fi was strong and  blessing. If you like fast planes and helicopters this is your place to see and hear them.

    This is an Amazing KOA

FHU, paved and level sights, clean and updated bathhouse and clean pool, playground, dogpark, koi pond, horseshoes, cute general store with necessities and souvenirs, propane refill and firewood! Has a quaint pond, with a bridge, and displays colorful lights at night. The Owner, Lori, showed us to our spot, and made sure we had everything we needed and gave us info on local shops and parks. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. We have been to this KOA 3 times now, and can’t wait to go back!

    Well-kept Campground

KOA campgrounds really vary in so many categories. This one was super convenient to the hwy (consequently, some road noise through the night.) Very clean, great dog area, modern laundry, nice bathrooms. Showers were tepid, but very clean. I would stop here again. Ask for site #12 or #13 to be further from the road.

    CampOut Alabama

    Run down and misleading website

After reserving a"pull-through" site eight weeks in advance, we were told that we had been moved to an adjacent site upon arrival. No explanation was offered but after telephoning the owner in Chicago, the guy at the gate said we could have our original site after all and led us to it. One day later, neighbor campers arrived and we learned that they had also been booked into the site that we were in, however they had only booked four weeks earlier. Double booking is common apparently, and we learned that during a busy Halloween weekend, several guests had to be shuffled around to the permanent residents due to lack of space...including sleeping in cars. Although the site we booked was marked as a pull-through on the website, due to the location of the trees and the length of our pull-behind(28 ft), it was impossible to actually pull through, and we backed out of the site when it was time to leave. The tree cover is nice and shady, however several low hanging limbs make maneuvering difficult. We could not extend our awning fully without hitting a tree. Some sites have sewer hook-ups but the community dump station was closed. We were told to find an empty site that had sewer and just dump there. We had to move to two different sites to find a sewer hookup that worked. Many of the sewer ports are located on elevated ground when compared to the campsite, so the sewage is forced to flow up hill. Maneuvering this campsite is not easy. The map on the website is misleading and no in/out loop exists. What is marked as an outer road on the map is an overgrown dirt path now. Coupled with week cell service the available wi-fi only works inside of the clubhouse. Also, our 30 amp camp site could not support AC and a microwave for 30 seconds without tripping the breaker. With that said, the people we met were very nice, but we will never return.

    Horrible Experience

It took days to make a reservation - when I arrived, a storm had taken out electricity and internet. I tried to cancel a future reservation - they do not provide refunds. They don't respond to messages and threaten you with small claims court for disputing charges. They are the definition of nasty and why people hate dealing with gay people.

    CampOut Alabama

Lost Reservation: Cost me 400.00 in Gas/18 Hours' Drive Time/Vacation Day

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE:  I made reservations back in August of 2022 for the July 4th, 2023, weekend (11 Months in advance). On my day of arrival, June 29th, I pull into the campground to check in and come to find out, the owner, Matt Fox, had lost my reservation. Matt works from home outside of Chicago. My card had been fully charged for the full stay 11 months prior. I traveled with my truck and 33-foot bumper pull camper for approx. 450 miles to be told I have no camp site. This is a unique campground. I had no other options. Instead of them realizing their mistake and assigning me a site and then making calls to cancel a reservation that was made after mine, they simply turned me away. The onsite managers tried to figure something out by trying to fit a square into a round hole. LOL. Meaning force my 33-foot camper attached to my 4-door truck around a 90 degree turn to then hit the overhang of an adjacent camp site roof over and over an eroded trail. There was no way it would fit is my point. That made me question their knowledge of the camping world. The owners operate off site near Chicago. They micromanage the reservations and local managers have no control over it. This business model is a joke. And this is a clear example of how it does not work. And from what I heard; matt makes mistakes all the time on reservations. They don't keep good records, or they would have never lost my paid in full reservation. This cost me the customer and they don't care. So here I sit, 450 miles from home with the cost to get there, pissed off and agitated knowing that I have an 8-hour drive back home because I have no other options. And a Holiday Weekend! They said they would give me a full refund and I had to ask for 100.00 for gas assistance. But they gave me no confirmation number of the refund. That had to come from Matt! The total trip was around 18 hours and approximately 900 miles which cost me around$400.00 in gas plus a lost vacation day from work. The drive home was very frustrating. I could not believe the way I had been treated. I honestly was in disbelief. It was the owner's fault and not the camp host/managers as the owners in Chicago run the show. And not a very good job at it from my experience. I sent the owners a text and picture of my odometer showing the average mpg and how many miles traveled and the time and ask for a$900 reimbursement. But they refused. How would you feel if you drove that many miles and for that length of time and spent that amount of money for nothing? They do not know what customer service all is about. They got their camp full for the July 4th weekend with over booking so I did not matter. I was nothing to them. They even required full payment up front. They are just looking out for themselves and are struggling apparently. Please, for those reading this, stay away. Its not worth what I went through to walk around naked and have man on man sex in the woods. This place disgusts me from a customer service standpoint.

    Newer campground

Newer RV park. Clean restrooms. Pool and dog park are some of the amenities. There is a boat ramp and docks/slips, but the lake was almost empty - no fault of the campground. Some sites are paved some are not. No privacy between sites. Electric capacity lacking. Only had an amp hookup but needed outlets for our popup. No fire rings - need to rent. There is a store/gas station at the front of the park. Would not stay again for personal preference.

Nice campground resort. Within 10 mins to everything you need from Walmart to Hospital. Very nice Clubhouse with a kitchen that can be reserved by guests. Nice pool . Nice laundry room. And a workout room . The only downfall I have noticed is being able to hear the traffic from 90 in the evenings but not a big deal to me. Nice restrooms with showers . Fenced in dog park. Everything you need for a great stay !

    Terrible

There is no shade, no privacy between campsites, if you want to have a fire you have to pay extra to rent a firepit, if you want to play pool or minigolf or even horseshoes then you have to give the front desk your license and turn them back in before they close at 5. Staff was rude and nit very helpful. Just in gendral place needs a lot of work.

    Florida Caverns RV Resort

    Awful

We called ahead to reserve tent sites and ensure they had electric and water on every site. Upon arrival, we were told all sites to the right edge (water side) and right of the road were tent sites. However, the first half of this row has electric for rv’s only. Moving down the row, the sites had no electric or water hookups. The last sites were in complete sun and next to a boat ramp. All the sites had trash on the ground and none had picnic tables. The showers were just curtained off from the bathroom with no privacy, hook or bench. The staff was unwilling to help and we left without staying.

    Florida Caverns RV Resort

    Under new management

Older reviews here were for Arrowhead Campground. New name and new management (or ownership?) We spent the first 3 nights of our Florida trip here (February 2020). Kids enjoyed the pool (polar plunge), the basketball hoop and the docks at the pond. Bathroom is nice. Staff very friendly and helpful. They are making improvements. Convenient to Florida Caverns while the park's campground is closed. We also visited Bellamy Bridge.
