Seminole State Park Campground

Seminole State Park Campground, near Donalsonville, Georgia, is a fantastic spot for those looking to enjoy nature and unwind by the water. With spacious sites that often come with beautiful lake views, it’s a great place to kick back, roast marshmallows, and soak in the scenery.

The campground is known for its clean facilities, including well-maintained bathrooms and showers, which visitors appreciate after a day of swimming or fishing. Many campers have highlighted the friendly camp hosts who go the extra mile, even delivering firewood right to your site. As one happy camper put it, “The bathhouse was super clean and always stocked.”

For outdoor activities, you can’t beat the options here. There’s a lovely two-mile hiking trail that winds through the woods, perfect for spotting wildlife like deer and raccoons. Plus, the lake is ideal for swimming, boating, and kayaking, making it a great spot for water lovers. Just remember to bring some bug repellent, as the gnats can be a bit pesky during the summer months.

While the campground is recovering from Hurricane Michael, it still offers a peaceful retreat with plenty of space between sites. Whether you’re camping in a tent, RV, or cabin, Seminole State Park Campground is a solid choice for a relaxing getaway.

Swimming area

The campground for the most part is beautiful period there are a few pull through camp sites that can be difficult with a long trailer. It seems to be quite a few small bugs around here. But I haven't got bitten yet so I didn't think they are the biting kind. The only major complaint I would have is that restrooms aren't kept very clean.

Great place close to home

Fantastic campground. Beautiful grounds and very well maintained. They only have 10 sites of the 40 opened due to rebuilding from hurricane Michael. Two great playgrounds for the kids and a wonderful 2 mile hiking trail through the woods.

Gem of a campground!

This was our second trip to Seminole State Park and it was even better than the first. We had a beautiful lake view on a huge pull through site! Site was spotless, including the fire pit. Bath house was super clean and always stocked. The grounds were beautifully kept. We had fun walking the nature trail and saw signs of deer and raccoons and enjoyed listening to the birds from our site. We had a very strong cell signal and 30 OTA channels so that was a pleasant surprise. We will absolutely be back!

Peaceful lakeside camping

Uncrowded lakeside camping. Great for swimming, boating, fishing, and kayaking. Very quiet and peaceful. Great camp hosts. Very clean bathrooms and showers. My visit was during the summer months, didn’t get any mosquitos bites but there were a lot of gnats, so bring bug repellent or screened tents. Looking forward to going back for a longer stay next time!

Nice Park

While this is still a pretty park, it was hit hard by Hurricane Michael. Still has pretty sites around a nice backwater lake of the Chattahoochee River. Really nice for fishing and winter camping, it has limited shade for summer outings. Nice staff.

Serene and refreshing

Seminole state park was a great place to go enjoy nature. The campground was right on the lake and many had great views. The low review is due to lack of things to do. There were not too many hiking trails, and really nothing to exciting about it resides a lake.

Absolutely beautiful, spacious and staff was great

We had a whole other trip planned and due to truck issues found the place by luck.  As most people know it's hard to find a campsite anytime of year so we were really thankful not only to find a spot but such a great one.  I will say it is in the middle of no where but we were still okay with that because the park was awesome!

Nature lover’s paradise

Wonderful state park in South Georgia! Our site was on the water and had beautiful sunset views. Newly renovated after Hurricane Michael, the upper loop had new gravel pads and plenty of space between sites. Great fire pit and grill combo along with a large and sturdy picnic table. The hiking trail just reopened and was an easy 2 miles. Tons of animal tracks to look for and identify! The playground close to the camping loop is nearly complete and looks super fun for the Littles. Bathhouse was brand new and showers were hot. Definitely coming back!

Absolutely Beautiful!

Wonderful campground! The waterfront sites are pullthroughs on a halfmoon loop. The sites are level gravel pads with a walkway that leads to a raised gravel sitting area for each site. The sitting area has a firepit and a picnic table. The sites are very well spaced and the park is quiet. You see a boat launch and swimming area across the lake. There is water and electric hookups and a dump station. We saw a bath house and several shelter areas. The camp hosts are super-friendly and even delivered wood to our campsite. We are looking forward to visiting again!

Nice lake

They are still recovering from hurricane Michael but most activities are up. RR's and showers are nice and clean. Be careful driving south because GPS will have you going down some dirt roads

Beautiful and Quiet

We love to stay at Seminole State Park. I highly recommend reserving a spot on the water. The view is lovely. The restrooms are clean and you are able to rent both canoes and kayaks.

Little piece of heaven right at home

We are very partial to this park! Beautiful views of the lake. Great for primitive camping or rv/camper. They also have cabins that you can rent. Very busy during the summer months but quiet during the fall and winter.
