No longer a nice campground

Been coming here for years. But the rangers and camp hosts will give you tickets for EVERYTHING. I was profiled for fitting the description of a vehicle they had an issue with the week prior and I got a $50 ticket! My campsite was filled with nails and wood staples and the coals in the fire pit…

Small but very well kept

First time camping here, sites are very well taken care of, they have little wagons to buy firewood, and the camp administrator was super nice and helpful. Some sites are super close together but we got lucky!

Nice campground

Campground has 10 sites for $30 a day, all with electricity and water. There is a dump station nearby behind the city garage for $10. There are vault toilets with free showers. The sites have immediate access to the river for fishing. There is a beach, two sand volleyball courts, boat launch, and…

Peaceful

We ended up camping here after finding out the last site at Council Grounds was taken by the time we got there(we did call before we left). There were maybe only 1-2 other camp sites taken when we arrived and they were on the other end so nice and quiet. My kids and husband loved the campground.…

Tiny; but cute!

This could be the smallest campground I’ve seen, 10 sites pretty close together. To be fair it was still very pretty and peaceful. Directly across from Lake George, easy and serene.

Halloween starts early here!

This weekend there was a screening of The Nightmare Before Christmas (one of our favorites) and loads of cool decked out campsites. Only a few places with full hook up and ALL by the dump station. Nice amenities, lake, splash pads, mini golf, splash pad outdoor pool, golf car rentals, outdoor…

Nice and quiet

Nice and quiet campground, little cool for weather while we were there but so peaceful. Linda was so nice in the office and really helpful, purchased firewood and so nice that they delivered. Would recommend and will stay again. Thanks for the wonderful week.

Good for the whole family

Has a nice sand beach with clear water for swimming, as well as a pool area that are both great for the kids. There’s also a few animals that you can go over and feed if you like. It was mostly quiet when we went, which was a very good thing. As long as you find a spot that’s not too close to the…

Heart of Wisconsin

This is such an awesome campground located right in the Nicole National Forest. The lake is super clean, the sites are very nice, and it’s nice and secluded. Enjoy the drive in!

Great getaway spot

A group of us stayed at Boot Lake campground in the end of July. Normally this campsite takes reservations but for 2020 it’s strictly first come, first serve. We lucked out and managed to snag one of the better sites (#14) on the lake. While there are roughly 8 actual lake sites, if you’re there to…

  • Site 14. We managed to fit a larger pop up camper and there is room for at least two tents, but not a lot of parking
  • Site 12. This site has a long driveway but wasn’t anything special. We only used this site for tents and hung out at the other site
  • View of the driveway from the picnic table at site 14

Beautiful!

What a gorgeous state park! From the moment you enter, you are in awe of the landscape. Trees tower above you as you drive through the park. For this particular trip, we reserved group sites A and B. They each have concrete pads for 3 campers and TONS of space to spread out and/or set up tents.…
